Chapter 7 - Auction I

Still exhausted, Young-mi slowly bites down the food while Young-hee suddenly spoked, "I think that you should be ready now. A high class auction will take place tomorrow, you will also be accompanying me; it will mark your first appearance as my daughter and the young lady of SYC."

"Any questions?" She asked before taking a sip from her glass, filled with red wine.

'She just drank a whole bottle of wine again...' Young-mi thought as she watched Young-hee take the last sip from her glass before finally replied to her question, "No, I'll make sure to prepare myself."

Young-hee silently nodded in response before putting her empty glass down onto the table and asked in a solemn tone, "Are you sure you want to continue? Once you make your first appearance, you won't be able to go back anymore."

It doesn't take one to live multiple lives again for Young-mi to know that it was a warning. To warn her that if she continued, then she would have no other choice but to continue this path to the very end.

"Yes."

Young-hee once again nodded her head in response.

'I hope she doesn't regret her decision in the end.' Young-hee thought to herself before ordering the servants to bring her another bottle of wine.

The next day, Young-mi wore a beautiful, light pink dress; it was from an expensive high class brand that matches with modern day trends. Alongside with pink-white heels, and fortunately Young-mi had some practice in her lessons otherwise she wouldn't even be able to walk with them.

When Young-mi reached the front entrance of the manor, Young-hee was already waiting alongside the butler and a couple of maids that were going to see them off.

"Ready?" Young-hee asked.

"Yes, mother." Young-mi replied. She was warned during dinner last night to be extra careful when addressing Young-hee in front of others.

The two of them got into the back passenger seat of the Limited-Edition, Black BMW. While two bodyguards sat in the front with one of them being the driver.

Upon Young-hee's signal, the car quickly made its way out of the manor yard before leaving the security gate and heading towards its destination.

"Remember to stay close to me at all times; don't go wandering off." Young-hee suddenly warned on their way to the auction house, it was as if she was teaching a child how to behave when going to crowded areas.

"Yes, understood."

To Young-mi's reply however, Young-hee quickly warned her again, "A mother and daughter isn't this formal to each, so be more casually when speaking to me in public."

"Yes."

Shortly after, the two arrived outside of the auction house entrance and were escorted off the car by their bodyguards.

When the two were off the car, Young-mi made sure to follow her previous instructions and stood close to Young-Hee with their arms interlocked with each other, as if the two really were mother and daughter.

The front entrance and hallways to the auction house was very empty, and they were directly led to a VIP room above where everyone else was sitting to watch the auction stage, so they didn't encounter many people.

Everyone in the auction house was focused on chatting with each other and reviewing the list of items that will be auctioned off today; there was only a couple of minutes left before the auction was going to start.

"Here, take a look at the auction list." Young-hee momentarily passed a black, menu-like list to Young-mi.

When she opened it, she found many pictures printed on them. Besides those pictures were information about the item such as its starting price, predicted age and the story behind them.

There was a wide range of items from ancient paintings and relics to brand new jewellery made by famous foreign designers.

One particular item that caught Young-mi's sight was an old, wooden, miniature pagoda. It was advertised as an item containing spiritual power and what's more, the design and symbols etched on it looked extremely similar to the one from the murim.
