Chapter 27 - Execution
Ex wakes up in a jail cell.
“Shit…”
“I see that you’re awake.”
Ex sees Shusuke standing on the other side of the jail cell door.
“Where’s Kasumi?” Ex asks immediately.
“Don’t worry about her. She’s safe. Worry about yourself.”
“What the fuck do you mean by that?”
Shusuke shifts uncomfortably.
“You’re in deep shit, Takahashi.”
“Elaborate.”
“You’ve killed a lot of people, Ex. But, we do know the context of those killings. There’s a way to redeem yourself.”
“How’s that?”
“You can help us take down that god forsaken industry.”
“The lab?”
“Yes.”
There’s a brief silence between them.
“Tell me Kasumi’s situation.” Ex orders.
“I don’t think you wanna know…”
“I told you to tell me.”
Shusuke sighs.
“Kasumi has done things and had things done to her that are beyond human comprehension.”
Ex looks down, already knowing what it means.
“So...what’s going to happen to her?” Ex asks reluctantly.
