At Debby’s

Gunther, AROSA’s head arrived at my suite while Debby was having her bath.

She changed and walked to the living room of my suite where she saw Gunther sitting waiting for her.

“Hi Gunther” She greeted, smiled at him and went to hug him.

“It’s been a while kid” He said ruffling her hair. ‘He was lucky my hair was in braids if not, I will make him set it back.’ Debby thought in her mind.

“How’s AROSA doing, I haven’t been able to check in lately, been busy.” Debby smiled at Gunther.

“Stop calling it AROSA, it sounds weird. It’s Arthis’s Royal Organization of Secret Agents. It’s okay though, but check that financial Minister of yours, he wants to cut off your funds that goes here and suck it all up” Gunther said.

“Just deal with him, the way you always do.” Debby smiled ignoring Gunther’s comment about AROSA’s name. It’ll always be AROSA to her.

Debby remembered when she first learnt about AROSA, it was when she was saved from the first assassination attempt, she wasn’t supposed to know until she fully became Queen but since she was in danger, she had to know. Only the Royal family knows about AROSA, it’s a secret organization that protects the Royals.

Since when Debby found out about AROSA, she has been close to Gunther, he was like an uncle figure to her, a very cool uncle especially when he found out she was learning how to hack.

“So what’s your purpose of calling me here?” Gunther asked snapping Debby serious.

“What caused the previous Queen’s death?” Debby asked.

“Car break failure which led to accident. Car break failure reason is still unknown. We started investigating it recently. We’ll get back at you for that soon” Gunther answered.

“Who are the king’s survivors?” Debby asked again.

Gunther smiled, he had a feeling Debby will ask him so he brought a folder of the previous royal family. He handed it over and watched as Debby looked through it.

“The previous king, late King Ashinder Roshti had two wives, late Queen Emma Roshti and late Queen Vashti Roshti. Each wife bore him a child, late Queen Emma Roshti bore late King Ashinder, Princess Mia Roshti but late Queen Emma was sadly murdered by the king’s second wife: late Queen Vashti. The second wife, late Queen Vashti Roshti bore late King Ashinder, late Crowned Prince Alexander Roshti. Princess Mia went into hiding with the late King’s illegitimate brother, Prime Minister Locke Rosa, bearing his mother’s surname to save the face of his father, while all the murdering was happening but came back as a maid to visit her mum’s grave” Gunther said.

‘So it’s true, Mia and Locke were not lying after all…’ Debby thought in her mind.

“Were the Queens aware of Locke’s existence?” Debby asked.

“Only Queen Emma was aware, the King didn’t inform Queen Vashti about Locke being his brother” Gunther replied.

“Advisor Williams and Velendez were the closest to the previous king right?” Debby asked.

“Yes, the king was aware they had their eyes on the throne, that was one of the reason the king was killed early, he was supposed to die along with his family the moment Lady Gina Williams, advisor Williams clocks twenty three which is three days from now.” Gunther answered.

“But it was Queen Vashti who murdered the king for power” Debby said confused.

Gunther smiled and decided to explain to Debby.

“Yes, but it was with the collaboration of Williams and Velendez, they planned to back stab her and make Gina the Queen instead when it was time for Gina to be, the issue is why Queen Vashti and Prince Alexandra died early”

‘I have to be careful, those two and Gina are deadly’ Debby thought.

“Enough of history. I am guessing Williams and Velendez aren’t aware of the king’s illegitimate brother” Debby said.

“You guessed correctly” Gunther said.

“So why are they framing Locke and trying to kill his family” Debby asked.

“First, he hid Mia from them and made her escape. They aren’t aware she’s your maid yet. Second, they want to frame you and get rid of you and also to get more information as by sending their agent in as the new Prime Minister which will be Velendez son” Gunther said.

Debby remembered when she met Velendez’s son: Brice, she was lost and he nicely helped her find a way, she didn’t see him after then.

“I’ve met him before, he didn’t seem like someone who will do this” Debby said thinking about Brice.

“Exactly” Gunther said making Debby confused.

“Huh?”

“Who do you think gave us information about the plot to assassinate you?” Gunther asked and it clicked in Debby’s head.

“He’s betraying his dad?!” Debby exclaimed.

“I believe the more correct term is he belongs to AROSA. He’s my right hand man” Gunther said.

“What?!” exclaimed Debby for the second time. Everyone’s just dropping bomb everywhere.

“Brice doesn’t approve of anything Velendez does, he isn’t interested in power and what not but his dad forced him into this. The previous king, king Ashinder brought him in for AROSA so he can have backup to stand to his dad when the time came, that was how he joined and he’s very skilled” Gunther said so proud of Brice.

“Gunther, can you make it to my office with Brice later today by 9? Pass the secret way please. I want to have this discussion with Advisor Vanquez, Princess Mia and the Prime Minister.”

“Yeah, hope you’ve been practicing kid?” Gunther asked, Debby frowned and turned her back to him folding her arms dramatically.

“I am not a kid, I am a legal adult you know” Debby said.

“You’ll always be a kid to me” Gunther smiled and walked out. At that moment, Ashton walked in.

“Hey Debby” Ashton greeted rubbing sleep out of his eye.

“So the sleeping beauty’s awake huh?” Debby teased.

“I am not the sleeping beauty, I am the sleeping handsome” Ashton replied causing Debby to chuckle.

Ashton turned serious immediately.

“So what’s going on? You don’t usually entertain guests at your personal suite.” Ashton asked.

Debby sighed and explained everything she found out to Ashton.

“This is getting more serious. I will come along with you to that meeting” Ashton said.

“Are you sure, you just managed to subdue the political war that was going on in Belgia. You really don’t want to mess with the power was of Arthis. I am the Queen, I have to take care of this” Debby said trying to convince Ashton to not butt in.

“I know what I had to face in order to subdue the political war, right now, Cathy is facing almost the same political war. If yours isn’t taken care of on time, it could lead to political war and it will be will be worse. Your advisors are plotting assassination? Assassination Debby! Do you not know how serious this is?” Ashton said trying to get Debby to let him help.

“You need all the help you can get right now. If it’s not for you, what about the innocent family of your Prime Minister that they want to get rid of? Think about how can you come up with a way to solve it within few hours and you still have to go to Genevieve’s coronation tomorrow. You can’t clear him or the advisors will know, you can’t leave him to suffer it, the only thing right now that you can do is to hide him and his family. What better place than Belgia, at least Belgia and Arthis are not connected to each other politically.” Ashton said.

Debby sighed and gave up arguing with Ashton. Ashton was right, there was no way she could come up with an idea in time to free Locke. All she can do for now is to hide him…

Wait a minute…

Belgia is at the other side of the continent!

And he came all the way to her yesterday night.

Could Ashton be crushing on her?

Debby waved the above thought off her head. No way could Ashton be crushing on her. She decided to keep her mouth shut and watch.

“Fine, you can come to the meeting. Thanks though, you came early this morning when I couldn’t sleep, and now you are helping me with my matters.” Debby said truthfully.

Ashton’s heart almost melted.

“You owe me though, and you’ll repay me as my date to Genevieve’s coronation tomorrow” Ashton said and smirked. Debby rolled her eyes.

“Sure Ashton, I’m sure if I said no, you’ll never agree.” Debby said causing Ashton to smirk. It will be a splendid day for Ashton as long as Debby is his date.

9:15am, Debby’s office

Debby, Ashton, Locke, Mia, Gunther, Brice and Vanquez are sitting on some couch in Debby’s office, atmosphere worried, each of them trying to come up with ways to evacuate Locke and his family without alerting Williams or Velendez.

Vanquez already knew Debby knows about everything and was relieved that it was off his shoulders, he has power but Williams and Velendez together is too much for him to handle.

“I can only see one way out of this without raising issue” Ashton suddenly spoke after three minutes of silence.

“Well, what is it?” Debby asked.

“We get Locke out of the Arthis tonight just before I go back to Belgia with Debby, and we get corpses and have plastic surgery done on them to look like Locke’s family and they are placed at his house, we have an agent given proper background report noise and plant fake evidences…” Ashton thought out loud.

“In other words, faking their death…” Debby completed.

“Nice idea” Vanquez and Locke commented.

Everyone turned to Mia, Gunther and Brice to hear their thoughts on Ashton’s idea.

“I don’t have anything against it” Mia shrugged.

Remains Gunther and Brice.

Gunther thought about it for a minute.

“There is a loophole. If we plant those evidences, it will be suspicious, it might not be to the police or the public, but the advisors will want to find out more. I think starting a fire will be better and we can start it with hair straightener.” Gunther said.

“Hey, that’s my house, there are many important documents there plus it adds to environmental hazard” Locke said trying to toss away Gunther’s house idea, he didn’t want to burn down his house.

“Are you being monitored?” Debby asked.

Vanquez smirked.

“That’s one thing I was able to get rid of. He’s completely free until tomorrow, that’s the best I can pull” Vanquez said.

“We are going to start a fire, a very horrible fire at hour house in the island, it has less neighbors, and we will plant corpses that will be burnt so badly beyond recognition.” Debby said.

“I think it will lead us back to square one of what we want to avoid, them getting the DNA sample but with more damage. All they need is a piece of the person to test for it. The body can be burnt but a piece of skin or something will remain except if the fire is too bad. I think Ashton’s idea will cause the least damage.” Mia said.

“So, what do we do?” Debby asked.

“I think its better we go with Ashton’s idea.” Brice said.
