Late Night Rendezvous

Jace went out and didn't come back until late. Kenji didn't stay, thank the gods.

It was obvious Jace didn't like the guy defending his father. She definitely hated her father for many reasons. One being the worst reason: his father killed her mom. How twisted was that?

I actually waited for Jace to come back. And it was obvious Jun did too. I could hear their voices talking in Japanese when they stopped right in front of her room.

When I heard Jace's door closed, I cracked mine open and peeked outside. I caught Jun turning in the hallway, probably to his own room.

I stepped out of my room and knocked at Jace's. It opened within seconds as if she was expecting for Jun to come back.

"Hey," I greeted her quietly.

"You were waiting for me?" she asked a bit surprised.

"I just wanted to make sure you're okay," I answered truthfully. "I was worried."

Jace stared at me for a brief moment before opening her door widely. "Come in."

I blinked at her, taken aback. "Uh, what?"
