To say that I'm calm as the freaking sea was the understatement of the century.

I was far from calm. I was like a hurricane. I think my heart was beating far from its normal pace.

Meeting a member of a Yakuza was one thing. And actually meeting the leader was another. Especially the father of the girl I was starting to fall for. And more importantly? His eyes were scrutinizing my every move. I'm pretty sure he could f*cking tell I was anxious.

"I'd like to thank you three for looking after my daughter," the Oyabun calmly said. Although he had a thick Asian accent, his English was perfect.

His sharp dark eyes lingered toward the twins. I actually thanked the gods when he finally looked away from me.

"I presume your mother acted like she didn't care about my daughter as well," the Oyabun continued.

The twins looked at each other, frowning in confusion. "What do you mean?" Elli asked bravely.
