Day 5 (special)

Third Person POV

It was dark out and the moon cast a glow over the building, making it look eerie in the night. The inside was just as dark beside the occasional light covering a nurses station and low lit lights that lined the ceiling of the halls. And the silence that carried through the mental institution was beyond unnatural for it to hold the craziest people.

It was the type of silence that told you the walls held the secrets and if you listened close enough they would speak to you too. And maybe if you looked at the right place they would even show you all the things they had seen. They would travel you down to the low level of the facility and lead you to the biggest secret of all.

It would lead you to the guy laying on a single bed as he held a book above his head. He read in the pitch dark as if it was bright as day. He had been reading for a few hours now and was able to let his mind get lost in the pages. He was able to forget that he was surrounded by cold white walls that made purpose were to keep him in and never out.

He stopped reading as he listened to the disturbance in the air before he closed the book and slid it under his bed. He sat up in bed and let his bare feet touch the cold ground, a cold ground that seemed to grow colder once it made contact with him. His relaxed mood the book had brought him was pushed away and filled with a mild irritation. He knew what was to come before his door even opened.

And as he sat on the edge of his bed with just his sweats on, you could see the outline of something inside of his chest. It was faint to the eye but the person who entered the room locked eyes on it without even trying. The device was placed to keep track of him and if he ever got out- it was there to kill him.

“Patient 000, it's time.” The person said, revealing a male voice to match the appearance.

Patient 000 got up without a word and the guy stepped away from the door to let him go out. Awaiting when he walked out were two other people who gripped his arms with gloved hands and guided him out of the meeting room. He was led to the office where someone else was waiting and they unlocked the door before everyone went inside.

Inside the office was a normal office but when one of the people twisted the stapler the bookcase opened and revealed an elevator. One of the four people used a key card to open the elevator and they all stepped inside. There was only one button and it was pushed, sending the elevator plummeting down. It was fast and if you weren’t used to it it was sure to make you nauseous.

The elevator opened up to a testing area that put any other to shame. There were different types of things strapped down or in giant containers of fluids. Patient 000 ignored those things as he was yanked to a bed and pushed down. A part of him wanted to lash out and kill the person who pushed him down but he held back his instinct to kill. He knew that it would only end with him hurt because he was weakened.

He was strapped down by his wrist and upper arms before he was strapped down by his thighs and calves. He watched as a scientist came over with a needle and flicked it a few times before just shoving it inside his neck. He clenched his teeth and glared up at the ceiling as the stinging sensation traveled from his neck and throughout his body. It was how they kept him weak.

It was a bacteria that they injected into his body every other day, sometimes every day just to be safe. It attacked the cells in his body that made him see, hear, and smell better than the average human. It weakened his unexplained supernatural strengths and speed and reduced him to that of a weakened human. He hated it because although he was better than even the most promising human, he was still human. He was just different and that was why he was here.

Patient 000 chin was gripped and a light was flashed into his eyes, making him blink repeatedly before it was moved. Black spots filled his vision as his eyes tried to readjust themselves to the harm they just had forced upon them. He felt a hard tap on his jaw and opened his mouth to have the light shined inside there.

Then a swap was shoved in his mouth and made him choke as it gathered his saliva. He glared at the lady who was doing this and she just smiled at him but the smile was anything but sweet. She had a scar over her eye from when he had attacked her after she had tried to pull out one of his teeth. No one had tried to do that since and he could tell she still was bitter about having such a nice face messed up but it was completely her fault.

“This shouldn’t hurt at all.” She said as she rolled over a tray of things. She was lying and Patient 000 couldn’t wait for the day he could have her head on a silver platter.

He hated how every night he was brought down here and forced into being tested on and treated like an animal. He hated everyone here who walked around in their lab coats as they looked down on him. They looked at him as if he was less and an abomination when he was better than them all. They were the ones harming animals and people like they couldn’t care less for the life that was being damaged. They were the monsters, not him. They should be on the table, not him.

He clenched his fist as he endured the pain of having needles shoved in and out of his arm for several reasons. He could hear the lady snicker each time she knew she hurt him and it made him yank on the restraints, making her jump back a bit as he growled at her. She reached into her pocket and pressed a button that sent a shock from the device on his chest throughout his body.

He collapsed against the bed when it was done and she stood over him with a grin on her face. He summoned up what little strength he had left and shot his head up to connect with hers. She stumbled back, cursing him as she nursed her head and a male scientist came running to her side. Patient 000 just dropped back down on the bed and ignored the pain in his head as he enjoyed the satisfaction of being able to get back at her.

“You stupid bitch!” A taser was shoved into his side.

He clenched his teeth and hands as his body shook from the shock before it was stopped, and then it was done again. Once it was pulled away he was left breathing heavily as pain radiated throughout his body and he was even more pissed off than before as he swore to slaughter them all the moment he got the chance.

“Put the feeding tube in.”

Patient 000 body tensed as he heard those words. His body didn’t process food like other humans and it actually made him extremely sick. It's why he still had the cookies under his bed from the new doctor. A doctor that had no business being here and a doctor who didn’t know the horrors of this place.

Patient 000 fought to keep his mouth closed as they tried to pry it open. It took them several tries and he even bit them two times before a tube was being solved down his throat, making him choke and groan in pain. He closed his eyes tightly as he tried to ignore it but soon when liquid food was making its way into his body he was unable to ignore it.

His body tensed before shivering as his stomach twisted and turned from the unwelcome food. He felt hands holding his body down as he began to try and get loose but he knew that it was useless as his stomach started to hurt. The pain he was feeling was beyond okay and he found himself having blood leak from his eyes in the form of tears.

He tried to get his mind to ignore the pain and bring him to a time before. A time where he wasn’t here and he was living a normal life. A time back in the seventies where he was thriving with his family and friends. A time before his accident that slowly began to change everything for him. A time where he was happy and normal like everyone else and playing to do great things with his life. Now he was here, leaving in hell and hoping for heaven.
