Chapter 4

Anna and Raven walked through Azuric Woods carefully. Every little sound made Anna jerk slightly. Raven pretended not to notice. They were about only a mile away from Kimchi, a rocky and sandy terrain. The trees began to take on a more deadish appearance. They were close. The Azuric peaches stopped appearing on the trees as they neared the edge. The sun was down and the crescent moon was shining above Kimchi. Anna shivered.

"I should've changed into my cloak before we left. Wearing this white shirt and black shorts was an awful idea," said Anna.

"You think? I'm wearing this red skirt! I should've known this place would get so cold at night. I guess it's because Kimchi is desert-like," said Raven. A gentle breeze blew through their hair as they walked through the desert.

Betty screamed as molten rocks flew through the air towards her. They crashed into the ground with a loud rumble. The earth shook. Betty kept running farther and farther away from the volcano until it was far off in the distance. Betty collapsed in the grass and closed her eyes. The grass was a dark green color.

"Are you ok?" asked a woman's voice. Betty sat up and saw a woman, about twenty years old looking down at her. She had blood red hair, and red eyes. She wore an all black jumpsuit with pockets that held daggers.

"I'm ok....Who are you?" asked Betty. She stood up and looked into her eyes.

"Why should I trust you?" asked the woman. She takes out a dagger and holds it to Betty's neck.

"Who are you?" She asked coldly. Betty remained calm.

"My name is Betty, now please let me go," said Betty calmly.

"Betty from where?" the woman asked sternly. "Isn't it obvious? You are clearly not from this island, the land of Shade.

"Wait...Shade? This must mean I'm in some parallel world...parallel to Shylynn," said Betty, her eyes wide. The woman takes her dagger away from Betty's neck.

"You're from some other world? Well then, I am Susie," said the woman. "How'd you end up here?" Betty sighed. They started walking.

"Well, let's just say it's a long story," sighed Betty. Susie looked at her with curiosity.
