Chapter 8

We go to the ice cream parlor and buy our Ice creams.

We all decide to walk back home instead of sitting down.

Isabelle: Mmmh…I love Ice cream!

*Time skip*

It has been a month since I moved into the bunker.

Nothing special happened so far…we just stayed at home every day watching movies.

But today is special… it's my birthday…

And today is a bit sad because it is my first birthday where I am not celebrating it with any of my family members.

I get up and go take a shower.

I get out of the shower and get dress. I took my locket that Jake gave me for my birthday a few years ago.

I go downstairs and no one is in sight.

Yuri: Why is no one here? What time is it?

I look at the clock and it showed 10:30.

Yuri: No one in this house sleeps that late…

I look over at everyone's rooms and I saw no one there.

I go outside and see Mr.Son exercising.

Yuri: Mr.Son!

He looks up and immediately stands up.

Mr.Son: Yes ma'am…How may I help you?

Yuri: Where is everyone? No one is in the house.

Mr.Son: Oh they went out for training…

Yuri: Training? Today?

Mr.Son: Yes…I thought they told you. I think they are going to come back soon.

Yuri: Ok thank you, Mr.Son.

He bows to me and I walk back into the house.

I go to my room and lay down on my bed and look through my phone.

*Time skip*

I was on my phone for a few hours and here the doors open.

I run downs stairs with a big smile and see the girls and boys come into the house all sweating.

Yuri: Hey guys…

Timothy: Hey Yuri…

Yuri: Umm…How was training?

Stephanie: It was brutal...

Isabelle: Yeah…I haven't trained like that in years.

Yuri: Oh wow!…Umm can we go out today? It is kind of a special day!

Sean: We don't have any time for outings.

My smile instantly turned into a slight frown. I didn't expect him to be that brutal.

Timothy: We are tired, Yuri. Maybe another day.

Sean, Timothy, JC, and Jayden go upstairs and I look at the girls.

Yuri: Do you girls want to go out for a girl's day?

Isabelle: Umm…we are exhausted girlie, we just want to freshen up and go to bed.

Stephanie: Sorry, maybe another day.

My heart breaks because no one remembers that it is my 18th birthday.

I clutch onto my locket and give them a sad smile.

Yuri: Oh ok… I understand…go freshen up.

They both smile at me and go upstairs.

I sit on the couch and look at my phone hoping that my dad texts or calls.

Nothing…there are no new messages or any missed calls.

I throw my phone aside and turn the tv on but there was nothing interesting on so I turn it off.

Yuri: *sigh* Today is so boring…maybe a walk will brighten up my day.

I go outside again and see that Mr.Son is turned the other way so it is the right opportunity to leave.

I run out of the gate and walk around the community.

I don't know what is around this area that much because I am not allowed to leave the bunker.

I walk for a couple of minutes and see a big park and a bunch of cherry blossom trees.

Yuri: Oh wow…

I walk through the cherry blossom trees and spin around.

Yuri: I love cherry blossoms!!

I arrive at the park and sit on the swings.

I swing back and forth very slightly while looking at the cherry blossoms falling from the trees.

But little did I know…I was not the only one at the park today.

Someone with a lollipop in their mouth ways up to the swing right next to me and sits in it.

I look at them and smile at them and look back at the cherry blossoms.

??: Hey…

I look at them again and see that their hand is stretched out in front of me.

Yuri: Hi...

I smile at him and don't accept his handshake.

??: Okay…well my name is Oscar. What is your name?

I look at him again.

Yuri: Yuri…

I didn't know who this person was…I just wanted to be by myself.

Oscar: Oh wow Yuri is a pretty name… and you are so beautiful.

Yuri: Excuse me?

Oscar: Oh no I just want to say that you are really beautiful.

Yuri: Oh thanks...

I get up from the swing and look at him.

Yuri: I am sorry but I want to be alone.

I walk away.

Oscar runs after me and stands in front of me.

Oscar: Woah…why are you all sad?

I was surprised when Oscar ran and stood in front of me.

I hesitate whether or not to trust him… but he looks like he is a nice person.

Yuri: Ummm…It is my birthday and no one remembers it.

Oscar: Oh Happy Birthday…

Yuri: Thanks… But I have to get back home now…

Oscar: Do you have a phone number or something?

What is going on here? Should I give him my number or not?

I thought about it for a few seconds.

Yuri: Yeah…

Oscar: Can I have your number?

Yuri: sure, its xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Oscar: Thanks...

Yuri: Well I got to go now.

Oscar: Let me drop you off…

I start walking but he stays back, I turn around.

Yuri: Well…are you coming?

I smile and he runs behind me.

Oscar: So are you from around here?

Yuri: Yes and No, I moved here a few months ago but I've lived in a different city.

Oscar: Oh that's cool.

We walk to my house and I see Sean outside giving me a disappointed look.

Yuri: Oh gosh!

I hid my face with my hand…

Oscar: Who is he? Your brother.

Yuri: No…he is a friend that is gonna murder me today.

Oscar: Why so?

Yuri: I am not supposed to leave the house because it is dangerous for me at the moment. But I left anyway.

Oscar: Ooh girl…you are busted…okay well I will get going.

Yuri: Okay…bye thanks for dropping me off.

I wave bye at Oscar and look back at Sean.

He is still giving me a disapproving look.

I continue to toward him without breaking my gaze.

I bump his shoulder and walk past him.

He runs up to me and holds my shoulders.

Sean: Where did you go?

Yuri: That is non of your business…get your hands off me.

Sean: Not until you tell me where you went.

Yuri: I went for a walk! Now let go!

I removed his hands from my shoulders.

Yuri: I don't need to explain myself to you.

I walk into the house.

Everyone: SURPRISE!!!!

Everyone in the room jumps up from their winding spot.

Jayden and Timothy, burst confetti cannons in the air.

I turn to Sean with a big smile on my face.

Sean: Surprise...
