Chapter 10 Winter storm.
Mia blushed as she started flying towards the academy. I just giggle to myself, but I guess she noticed because she looked at me pouting…
We landed and Mitch came and greeted us… I waved to the flying solders, the Captain smiled and waved back before turning back to the castle…
Mitch walked us inside and asked if we where hungry. I shake my head and told him we had already eaten. He smiled and nodded to us before walking out of the living room. I sat down on the sofa looking down at the floor. Mia sat down next to me…
"you're going to throw yourself into your work again…" she smiled bitter at me…
"when the weight on my shoulders ease up I will make it up to you…" I looked at her feeling a sting in my hearth…
She always takes so good care of me… but I have to put my work first… this is the deal I have… this is the blessing of a goddess… save one life and suddenly your in charge of saving a whole planet… I felt Mia's hand on my head. I looked over and she was smiling at me… the kindness in her eyes… the eyes of someone I don't want to let down… I leaned over and kissed her cheek…
"sorry for working so much…" I said smiling bitter at her...
"it is one of the reasons why I fell in love with you… you always put others before yourself… that is the bread of the people, not for a spoiled prince…" she giggle at me…
"y…you remember…" I was a little stunned hearing my own words thrown back at me…
"yes. That was the moment I fell for you… your kindness towards us left a mark in my hearth…" she said smiling at me with her blue eyes…
I kissed her… and smiled before walking to my room… I sat down at my desk and took out some books Frida gave to me about gardening… there was a lot of useful information like soil quality and fertilizer, it even had a section about using worms to clean the earth and making it fertile again…
After I read the book I entered my Orb and continued to work on my Dome spell, the one that could protect everything inside. I combined the generator and battery spells into it making it
self-sufficient, I added UV light filtering and cold to warm converter spells.
I worked on it every time I had a moment when I woke up and was waiting for breakfast, even at lunch I would have ideas that I talked with Mia about. Seeing her smile as she help me figure out different things like how to recycle water and finding faster ways for seeds to grow, boosted my moral to keep working like this… she was humming one time in the library and it gave me the ide of vibration and sound to make the seeds feel comfortable, I had gotten permission from Kelly to plant some potatoes and wheat seeds in a little field outside the villa.
I had deployed the dome there with a camouflage so it would not attract attention and it was far enuf to the side so nobody would walk into it, but I added everyone in the villa permission to enter it but everybody else would hit a soft wall making them unable to enter…
As Mia helped me sow the seeds and plant the potatoes it was starting to get cold outside but inside the dome it was warm like a hot summer day. I manage to get the crops down to a week of growing until they where ready for harvest, Mia had even planted tomatoes they needed a little over a week to grow but I think that was because they were not directly in the soil…
After 3 weeks of working like this and managing to attend morning classes we looked at 3 fields fully grown… the potatoes was huge compared to normal potatoes, the wheat was the same size as normal also because they grew above ground… but the tomatoes was a little bigger than normal tomatoes… I figured it was because we had managed to water them at the right time and with a constant temperature they could grow nice and big. The dome itself filtered the air making sure that they would not get sick. And the atmosphere inside the dome had a lovely humming noise that was soothing like a mother humming for her child… Mia loved it inside the Dome, and she would follow me there when I was working just to sit inside to read a book… we had invited Kelly over to check on our result, so we were waiting outside for her to come, the air was cold, so we had put on some warm jackets…
She finely showed up apologizing for being late… she was working on correcting some tests the students and us had done and smiled at us and said we were the top students in our class… Mia smiled happy to me… Kelly asked where we had planted the fields and Mia pointed at the end of the villa smiling and giggling at her as we walked over to the Dome…
"here? But I don't see any plants or fields anywhere…" Kelly asked stunned…
"it is Austin we are talking about… do you think he would do anything normal…" Mia smirked at Kelly…
"eh… right. It is not dangerous Right?" Kelly looked at me. I just giggled and shrugged my shoulders taking a step back into the Dome.
I saw Mia reach out her hand to Kelly and guided her inside. Kelly's eyes got big as the scenery changed as she walked inside the Dome…she looked behind her and stretched out her hand feeling the wall of the shield, she turned back and saw the crops we had planted and walked over and touched it with her hand… she was speechless.
Mia picked a tomato and gave it to her… Kelly studied the tomato in awe. Mia had to guide her to a table and chairs we had put out and used to eat lunch… Kelly sat down stunned looking around… we sat down at the table too. We waited for her to calm down as she looked around at the crops…
"eh… how long have you been working on this project?" Kelly asked as she took of her coat.
"Austin started 3 weeks ago. it was the same day that we asked for permission to do it here." Mia smiled at her.
"oh no… you don't get to escape the blame this time. You helped me working on the spell and planting the crop to… if I get blamed so are you…" I smirked at Mia who looked stunned at me…
"but I just answered a few questions and helped you plant…" Mia said stunned at me…
"y…you grew this in 3 weeks?" Kelly looked at us in shock…
"what… no, of course not… the wheat and potatoes are one week but the tomatoes are 10 days since we planted them…" Mia said confused to Kelly…
"one week… do you know how long it takes for wheat to grow?" Kelly asked Mia stunned…
"eh… 2 weeks…" Mia smiled awkward at her…
"it takes tomatoes around 60 days to grow. And the wheat um… around 8 months I would think…" I stated to them…
Mia looked confused at me then she looked out on the 3 small fields before looking at Kelly…
"he have corrupted your sense of normality…" Kelly looked stunned at Mia…
"but we just planted them like the book said…" Mia looked at me confused…
"yes but remember the humming I added and how warm it is inside the Dome… everything play a factor into growth time… even the tedious watering we did every day and measuring of the soil at the start makes a big different at the beginning of the planting… and the steady temperature makes it the ideal place for crops to grow…" I explained to her…
"oh… yes it is nice her… I use to sit here and read books while he is working on some plants…" Mia smiled awkward to Kelly…
"yes. it is nice here…" Kelly said shocked at her…
Molly brought out some tea and bread with cheese… she put it on the table to us and smiled at Kelly who looked stunned at her…
"so that was how I looked the first time I came inside…" Molly giggled to me…
"yep… we have that effect on people…" I giggle to Molly…
She smirked at me and nodded before walking around and looked at the crops…
"can I take some tomatoes inside?" Molly asked me…
"yes. go ahead." I smiled at her…
Molly picked a couple in her apron and walked outside smiling… Kelly was still looking stunned at the garden we had… Mia poured her some Tea and served her some fresh bread with cheese… Kelly sipped some tea and eat some bread still looking stunned at the crop…
"okey. just say it… how did you do it…" Kelly looked at me…
"shield spell combined with mana generator and battery, I created cold to heat spell and air purifier. I have worms clean the dirt and we water at regular hours. And we have the UV filter on the dome itself." I smile to her…
"UV filter?" Kelly looked at me stunned…
"yes. ultraviolet light, you probably noticed it is brighter inside even if it is starting to get dark outside… the Dome gathers the light and spread it out to match 14 hours of sunlight." I explain the prosses to her…
Kelly smiled and sat back in the cheer listening to me explaining the prosses from start to finish. Even Mia had sat down smiling and listening to me… after I had explained the entire prosses to them I looked at them confused… they smiled at me…
"have you ever considered being a teacher?" Kelly asked giggling at me…
"no… I don't think mom would let me…" I smile awkward to her…
"I would love to see you tell her that…" Mia laughed loud…
"why would she not like for you to be a teacher?" Kelly looked at us confused..
"eh… Headmistress. Have you forgotten that Austin is a Prince?" Mia giggled to her…
Kelly was about to say something but stopped and laughed with Mia… I just pouted at them…
"so… even a prince can hold lectures at academies. Sure, I will not have time for it right now, but in the future I might…" I pouted and stated at the two who stopped and looked stunned at each other…
I could see Kelly and Mia started to think like crazy before turning to me and smiled excited… shaking my head at them I said that I have way too much to do. and for now, we would need to make a bigger Dome and start planting the crops… Mia looked at me with big eyes…
Ever had your girl look at you with sad eyes… well I haven't before so you can probably guess how it went…Yep… defeated by big blue eyes looking sad at me… I swear if she was holding an equal cute puppy even the darkness had fallen for them and probably been set to do some work…
I agreed that I would do a small lecture on the generator and battery spells on the condition that everybody attending the lecture signed the patent law… I thought that would make them back off but, no… that even made them happier and now they are jumping around in the Dome like 3 years old kids…
After they settled down smiling at me i told Kelly that the Dome was too powerful for anyone to have and I would register it in the patent, but I would not include how to make it… Kelly of course asked bedside the crops what it could do that made it so powerful…
I told her that it could withstand my barrage spell and even the darkness would not be able to brake it… Kelly just nodded to me stunned and said it was probably the best to keep it off the record…
We called it a night and walked out of the Dome. It was getting freezing in the dark night. Kelly had agreed to inform Paul about it tomorrow and get a status update for me on the refugees. We waved goodbye to Kelly walking back inside the academy. Mia and I stood outside for a little looking up at the starry night… the wind started to pick up, so we walked inside… we sat down in front of the fireplace warming ourselves up.
Vicki and Molly came and handed us some warm chocolate milk. Molly distracted Mia and Vicki handed me a little gift nodding and smiling at me I smiled back and thanked her hiding the small gift to my side…
I asked if they would like to sit down with us and stay warm at the fire… Molly shake her head saying that they had to get the food ready for the guards… Mia was about to say something, but I just told them that if possible the guards could stay indoors tonight… Vicki said she would relay my message smiling at me before walking back to the kitchen…
"but they still have an hour before they start serving the night guards…" Mia said confused looking back at the door to the kitchen…
"nothing gets past you…" I giggle at her as she turned towards me and pouted at my comment.
"I could not pick it out myself, but I asked them to help me…" I said taking her cup away and placed it on the floor in front of us.
"Happy birthday Mia…" I handed her the gift Vicki had given me…
Mia looked stunned at me with tears in her eyes, her hands was trembling a little as she took the gift in her hands. She opened it and there was a silver bracelet with a diamond the shape of a hearth and gold around it to hold it in place…
I saw Mia cheeks fill with tears as she looked down at the bracelet with a smile, I held my arm around her as she silently cried a little…
After a little while she took out a handkerchief and started to dry her cheeks and eyes…
"y…you remember… I thought you didn't know my birthday, and you were so busy with the crops to help the people not starve…" Mia could not hold back her tears…
"i said I would make it up to you… even if I had Vicki and Molly escorted with the guards to buy the gift that I did not have time to pick up myself I had ordered it with Mitch's help, to be honest I think everybody helped me get it ready for you… I hope it still counts as a gift from me…" I smiled nervus to Mia…
Mia turned and looked at me with a smile… she had tears in her redden blue eyes looking at me with love. She leaned towards me and kissed me slowly as the wind started to howl outside… after a little while she just rested her head at my shoulder… I was in a daze… I just touched my lips as I catch my breath…
Mia stayed in my arms for a long time snuggling me. she had stopped crying and she just looked at me with loving eyes holding the box in her arms still resting at my chest… I use my sleeve to wipe away the last of her tears… she started purring at me…
"are you that happy to be with me?" I asked a little stunned but smiled down at her looking up at me with her blue eyes…
She just nodded and gently pinched a hold of my shirt looking down at the box with the bracelet. I took it out with my one free hand and held it up with the tip of my finger she let go of my shirt and gently stretched her hand true it and interlocked her fingers with mine…
She locked her fingers with mine and rested her head on my chest looking down at our hands giggling gently… we sat in front of the fireplace listening to the wind howling outside… it was getting worse and we could see snow starting to stick to the windows… Mia flinched a little when the wind slammed against the house, so I just hummed the song my mom used to hum to me…
We stayed like that until bedtime. We said good night and Mia walked to her room… I walked back to my room and changed to my pajamas and crawled under the thick blankets… Mia knocked on my door that was halfway open to let the warmth inside. She walked up to the bed and looked at me a little scared…
"you don't like the wind blowing?" I asked her…
She shakes her head glancing worried at the window above my desk… I just smiled at her and pushed the blanket for her… she crawled behind me to the inside of the bed… I turned and looked confused at her… she laid down my arm on the pillow and laid down beside me resting her head on my arm… she was shaking… I guess she was scared of the wind… I hummed the song as she was resting beside me and it did not take long until she fall asleep… I tried to get my arm back but every time I tried she made a "eep" sound in her sleep… Yep. I gave up and used my other hand to hold her hand… she seemed to calm down and sleep better… I just hummed to her as I drifted asleep myself…
The next morning, I woke up with my ear twitching as it tickled… I opened my eyes and saw Mia held her hand above my head… I looked down at her… she was blushing as our eyes meet…
She had pulled her hand away and tried to hide her face under the blanket…
I guess she tried to touch my ears… I looked over at her fox ears and smirked… I blew in her ear making it twitch… I felt her hole body shiver as she looked up from the blanket pouting angry at me…
I smiled awkward at her but sighed defeated and tilted my ears to her… she smiled and reached her hand and touched my ear… her hands was warm and soft, and it tickled a little… I almost fell asleep as she cuddled my ear… I heard she blow at my ear and felt the creepy feeling fill my body as the shivering feeling spread true my body…
"eep…" i said uncontrolled feeling goosebumps all over…
I frowned at Mia giggling at me… I guess she got her payback… I sat up and shake my body at the creepy feeling I was about to walk out of bed but i was stuck… well rather my tail was stuck at something…
Confused I turned around and saw Mia blushing holding her face with her hands… I looked down and saw our tails had tangled… Mia looked at me true her fingers… I blushed a little, but I gently took my tail and started to untangle them… this damn tail is always making a mess…
I accidentally touched Mia's tail… it was so soft and warm. I could not resist touching it again with my finger… "eep" I heard… I looked at Mia who was blushing red hiding her eyes…
"s…sorry i…I will get it untangled…" I blushed as I said to her…
"o…okey…" Mia said to me still hiding her face…
I gently untangled our tails making sure I didn't touch her tail… when I was done I leaned over to Mia and gently lifted her hand away… she was resisting a little but gave after I used my thumb to cuddle her hand… she peeked at me blushing with her blue eyes… I leaned over and kissed her nose…
"sorry… it was rude of me…" I smiled a little sad at her looking guilty…
She leaned up and kissed me… smiling gently at me… I blushed and turned back to get out of bed… my tail was grabbed… it sent chills true my body, but I held it together… I turned and saw Mia holding my tail blushing guilty at me… she looked a little stunned as she looked at my tail…
"it so soft…" she mumbled as the felt with her finger on my tail…
"eep…" I said as I felt the chills fly like lightning true my tail making my whole-body shiver…
"sorry…" I saw she looked at me blushing and smiling at me awkward…
"we be late for school…" I said standing up from bed and looked at her…
She nodded still blushing a little as she got up… she looked at the window and smiled. I looked over and saw the window was halfway covered in snow… Crap… I turned to Mia looking worried…
"the Dome might be visible to the other students…" I said to her…
She nodded and walked out to her room. I hurried and changed clothes and walked out to the living room and waited for Mia… she did not take long, and we walked outside and looked over to the Dome… it was working fine, and the camouflage hid it even as the ground had changed to a meter of snow… a guard came outside smiling at us. he explained that they had kept an eye on it from time to time true the night and said nothing abnormal had happened. I thanked him with a smile and bowed to him… I grabbed Mia's hand and walked inside towards the kitchen..
Molly and Vicki was about to start filling the tray with plates and food as we walked inside…
Mia and I found some chairs and sat down yawning at the table…
"Prince and Princess we can bring the food out to you in a second…" Vicki and Molly said looking confused at us… I just looked over at Mia still yawning…
"we always eat with the staff at first snow. It a tradition in Terrentil and we want to hear concerns or plans for the staff and well talk with them over breakfast…" Mia said resting her head in her arms on the table…
"b…but we haven't cleaned the common eating area that well… and all the guards from both morning and night shift will be there so it is going to be a little cramped…" Molly looked worried…
"if I can ask the favor of you two to sit on each side of Mia's side there won't be any problem…" I smile to them…
They nodded at me and Mia looked confused at me… I just showed her my tail at the side of the table giggling at her… she smiled awkward at me…
"may I ask the reason for us sitting on each side of the Princess?" Vicki smirked at me…
"are you afraid that the guards would do something improper to you wife making you jealous…" Molly smirked at me…
"no. it's just we don't have that good control of our tails yet, and we don't want any misunderstandings between the guards and Mia…" I stated looking at them…
"oh… but that is just normal at your age… and everybody knows it…" Vicki said looking a little sad… I guess she hoped I would get jealous if a guard sat next to Mia…
"he won't say it, but it bothers him if anyone else gets close to me. he is just overprotective…" Mia smirked at them…
Vicki and Molly perked up and smiled at me… Seriously what is up with the woman in this world… do they want me to be jealous… I trust Mia so there is nothing to be afraid off… maybe… am I Jealous?...
"it is normal for a husband to be protective of his wife…" Mia whispered and winked at me…
"but I trust you with my life… and I trust you to not go flirting around town…" I whispered back confused at her…
"oh… so you don't mind if I sit next to anyone else…" Mia said smirking at me…
"n…no… as long as it is Vicki and Molly…" I said pouting to her… Crap…
Vicki and Molly giggled at my comment smiling at me as they continued to prepare the breakfast…
"okey what is the deal?" I whisper to Mia…
"it is common that a husband is protective… and it is considered a bad marriage if he is not…" Mia giggled at me…
"even if I trust you?" I looked more confused…
"yes. we fox kind are jealous when it comes to our spouses…" Mia smiled at me…
"but aren't marriage build on trust and a lifelong commitment to your partner?" I asked even more confused…
