6. IT'S MY BIRTHDAY
It was my birthday. Olivia called in the morning but I was still sleeping because of last night, was busy preparing for the party, decided not to call her back since she will be coming over later for the party. Everyone who in my college will be very well aware of the party since i left the invitation to Olivia. The result of all my hard work was that I was lying on the floor holding my back, pretending to be strong., I still dont know why i did all the decorations myself. All these happenings ended at 2:30 am, woke up at 9:00 am, saw a lot of wishes on whatsapp and a missed call from Olivia, I replied all the texts I could except Olivia's for God knows why!!
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!"
I heard a loud noise from the door, I already know, its my parents.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!" "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU " They sing as they entered my room with a very lovely 4 layered chocolate cake with Ice cream toppings which they know is my favorite.
My dad gave me a box of present,
"wow!!! A Ferrari? awwwwwn!!" Thanks a lot Dad. I love you so much
"I love you too princess, Happy birthday to you my angel, Many more years to come" My dad replied with a smile
"so I got this for you" My mum chipped in feeling jealous
"awwwwwwwn!!!"! A brand new iPhone 12. "Thanks alot mum"
"I love you both so much" I said
I and your Dad will be going for an exhibition later so you can have the house to yourself without your friends feeling insecure of our presence" My mum said in a very weird tone.
" ok mum, Thanks so much" I said as i watched them leave my room.
After sometime, I started replying to all the messages and got myself busy in other things. Finally I got a video call around 2:15 pm, was taking a nap after the lunch. . Picked the call, Olivia on the other side. babe, I need you to come to THE CRAP HOUSE around 7pm please, we have to sign a contract with THE VUE, please dress appropriately, we will be signing the contract over dinner, and she hung up the call.
"But my party starts 7pm" I said to an empty screen in almost tears.
Just after that I got a long message from my Dad, maybe he had prepared that much before. I still remember the words whatever he said in full english, "Enjoying your childhood, when you grew up I didn't know. When you fell down in childhood,you didn't cry, you are my brave Daughter. I know I always tried to be your father. I know you are hesitant to tell me your things, you hide your things from me. You are the beginning of my paternity, my Daughter. Now you will not see me screaming on your small mistakes. Now you will be the owner of your own. Maybe you choose life partner on your own and why not, it is your right too. Happy independence, my princess. I will be always present in the role of guiding at every turn. As an additional birthday gift I am trying to be a cool dad as you always wanted me to be. Starting with "you" as 'u' , "are" as 'r' and "your" as "ur" , as all the youngster of ur age use in ur convo. I have a lot to say honey, but I don't want to be ur boring lecturer who continues his words monotonously. Enjoy ur day, my son." Thats it.
Its already 6pm, Having the most annoying birthday ever, my parents left early so I was home alone. Even Olivia didn't drop by. I decided to use the dinner as a birthday treat so I wore My beautiful ruffled dress, its purple with sky patterns, its and off shoulder ruffled dress, very beautiful. with my black red bottom heels, I made my hair into a bone straight just to keep a simple but elegant look. This is my best look so far. Took my new Ferrari out to match my look, Classy and saucy. It's my birthday after all.
Got to THE VUE around 7:03pm. was so scared to go in, cause it was looking so dark, been calling Olivia but she isnt picking, I just hope she didnt give me a wrong address. stepping into the huge dark building, with my phone touch on just to see my way through, The biggest shock of my life, lights started to come on, as a musical band started playing, everyone came out of hiding and shouted surprise. Then i spotted Olivia, she dashed to me with a big hug and a present, " This is for you" she said with a big smile.
I was speechless, this is so emotional.
"Olivia, you really didnt have to" I finally said to Olivia as everyone was singing me the common Birthday song.
"oh, this isnt me" Olivia said
Then who? " I asked with all curiosity
