Arthur asked with curiosity.
" But how did you know about them?"
Qin shook his head. His eyes showed his anger and his helplessness.
" They reappeared many times. Most of them were selfish and evil bastards. Even gods were the same. We humans fought against them countless times."
Gilgamesh said with nostalgia.
" Yes, I fought against angels, gods and demons. They weren't that different. For them, humans were ants which can be trampled anytime. So, I challenged their hegemony. I never retreated in my lifetime."
Charles nodded. He also had experience against demons.
" They aren't kind as they look. I saw angels and demons. I even killed demons with my bare hand. Unfortunately, my strength was limited and demons were too strong. Especially pillar demons and demon kings. They were the true terror to whole Europe. My paladins weren't enough to cut them down."
Arthur fell into silence. He understood their words meaning. Basically, they were saying, don't trust either of them. There is no absolute good nor absolute evil. Only profit is the truth for the powerhouse.
Even so, Arthur didn't change his mind. He believed in inner kindness of living beings. He smiled.
" Don't worry, I won't leave my back to them. Besides, we are going to investigate, not to cooperate."
Qin nodded. He was confident about Arthur's mind because he never lost once.
" Fine. However, we must take precautions against the retaliation."
Gilgamesh nodded. He folded his arms as he sighed.
" I agree. There are a lot of ill-tempered gods."
Merlin looked at Arthur. He said lightly.
" Should we go to your master? She might know something about them."
Arthur's eyes lit up when he heard this.
" Good idea. Master must know about them."
In Kamar Taj.
A portal was opened in Ancient One's room. She was drinking her tea, expressionless.
" What brings you here?"
Arthur said with a humble look.
" Teacher, do you know about gods and demons?"
Ancient One sighed. She knew this day would come.
" Look carefully."
She drew magic runes in the air.
" Long time ago, humans weren't powerful as today. We were enslaved by the powerful races of other worlds. However, soon it changed. Powerful beings called 'gods' descended on the land of humans. They freed us and gathered our faith power. However, their power affected the entire world. So, they chose to leave. Nordic gods went back to Asgard, Greek gods went to Olympus, angels went to heaven, immortal gods went to their place and others went to their home. Even so, they observed our world until Ancient human heroes appeared on our land. They carried the symbol of celestials. They protected our world along with sorcerer supremes and heroes. However, they were unaware that sorcerers were also guardians of magic side. They used light magic to seal dimensional beings like Dormammu and Crimson king. Not only that, they guarded the hell's gate which can release powerful demons like Mephisto and Asmodeus."
Arthur took a deep breath. He guessed it right. There were powerful beings that can threaten the balance of the world.
He asked with a grim face.
" How powerful are they? Can I defeat them?"
Ancient One smiled.
" Unfortunately, you are just an ant compared to them. Their power is far too strong for you. Even your soul and body are in the strongest form, you can hardly damage them. They are immortal, and can kill you in a second."
Arthur groaned. His physical strength is enough to flatten a little country, and his soul is enough to rival sorcerer supremes. However, that power wasn't enough.
" But why earth? Why this planet?"
Ancient One said with a calm tone.
" Fate, my child. Whether your life or others' life, they all go according to it. Even I will die someday."
Arthur closed his eyes with pain. He can't deny the universal truth, but he can change it. He recalled the strength of the Infinity stones. Their power is capable of helping him. Maybe, he does have a chance.
"I will change it. I am not willing to see the end of my world."
Ancient One sighed. She guessed his thoughts early.
" But this road is too dangerous. You will face countless enemies alone."
