A man with gray hair was standing on his balcony, looking down at the bustling streets with a calm face. He reached out to his pocket and pulled out a watch from it. The time needle was pointing at 1.
" Grand General, your guest has come."
A butler appeared in his room as he bowed down. Swain waved his hand to signal him. The man understood his signal, bringing two people inside the room and gesturing them to sit. He ordered the maids to bring tea for the guests.
" We are on time, General. I know you hate being late, so I deliberately came in time."
Samira picked up the tea and sipped with a calm face. She looked at Arthur who was sitting next to her. He seemed to be enjoying tea as he nodded with satisfaction. Although she could tell this tea was high-level stuff, it didn't bother her that much. Contrary Arthur was a noble who had drank plenty of good tea, and understood this was quite expensive tea.
The tea refreshed his mind and calmed down his heart.
" It appears that you are a noble by the looks of your etiquette. Most people wouldn't care about enjoying tea while you seemed to know about proper tea-drinking knowledge."
Swain sat down on the chair, gazing at his face. Arthur looked back at him with a gentle face despite feeling pressure from him. Additionally, he felt something familiar from him. It wasn't a simple feeling, it was more like a sinister thing that was ready to bite his neck off.
" Hello, My name is Arthur Frost. Leader of Eden, a person who can travel through dimensions or realms in simple words. You must have suspected my identity by the looks of your face."
Arthur introduced himself with a plain tone.
" Hmm, my name is Jericho Swain. I was looking forward to meeting you, sir Arthur. Let me cut to the chase since we are both leaders. If I want to join your association or organization, what would I get?"
Swain said lightly despite Samira's shocked look. She never thought Swain would be interested in Arthur's organization.
" Interesting. You must have a great intel system since you figured out my routes."
Arthur analyzed Swain. Undoubtedly he was a wise man who could figure things out, but he was an ambitious one. Arthur could see he was a man who was ready to devour anything in his way. However, that didn't mean he would back off.
" There is nothing that I don't know in this world. In fact, I know you are from another realm and I am prepared to negotiate with you in the first place. If you promise me something, Noxus will be your iron-clad ally and we will halt our expansion. Your goal is peace, right?"
Swain threw out his olive branch to bait the big fish. He knew Arthur was a wise man like him and he knew Arthur didn't like warmongers. Hence, he sacrificed his biggest achievement for a bigger one.
" Haha, you got me there. I am a hero and a champion who adheres to justice. Even so, I know there will be always darkness in light."
Arthur laughed with amusement. He never imagined he would be cornered by this man in negotiations which was first in his life. He even admired his bravery because honestly, he could take care of Noxus or any country in this world if he wanted, but force isn't always the answer. He couldn't treat Runeterra like Red Alert World.
" Indeed. I want two things land and resources. You see Noxus is heavily dependent on land and resources to maintain itself. I knew conquest of this continent is impossible since you have arrived here. Therefore, I made a rational choice to maximize my profit. Besides, I believe in the long term Noxus will get a greater benefit than today."
Swain said calmly which made Arthur's eyes lit up. Honestly, he was impressed by his talent as an administrator of this empire. He couldn't help to notice that even being a warmonger country, this country had its unique advantages.
This showed how competent he was, so he wanted to invest since he had a similar experience with orcs who worked as his vanguard.
