Chapter 56 We all struggle

" Perhaps you could help me, child. The only purpose in my life is to protect my last home."

Janna looked down at the people who were struggling to live. Arthur followed her gaze, looking at those people with pity. No matter how many times he traveled, there would be always people who struggled to live.

" I promise I will change the city, but I need your help, goddess. Please, help me to find the culprits behind this cruelty."

Arthur pleaded for her help in his earnest tone. Janna seemed to reconfirm his goodwill as she created winds to guide him. Each gust went in a different direction and memorized where they were going because the next time he visited this place, he would get rid of pests before creating a safe place to live. However, he also recognized the main problems.

" Chem barons would be the biggest obstacle to clean this city. I need to either imprison them or get rid of them."

Arthur thought, preparing to leave. Janna understood his intentions as she handed him a small token of appreciation. Her energy went into Arthur's body, enhancing the wind power inside him in the process.

Arthur was taken aback by the sudden move of hers as he looked at her with shock since she would disappear if she gifted her power to others. It was ripping her soul out of her body and transplanting it to another being.

" Why?"

He asked, not understanding the logic behind her move. The divine power should be precious to her because without it she would perish, yet she gifted part of it to her.

" I trust you."

Janna smiled while disappearing into the wind. Her power was weakened through the years and she decided to give enchantment to Arthur which resulted in her sleep, but little did they know she would awaken soon.

" ..."

Arthur silently looked in the direction where she disappeared and prayed for the first time in a while. He earnestly placed his hands together and prayed for her and this city because she deserved such a thing.

" She left."

Diana came out from the shadow while holding her sword. Her silver hair was gently blown in the wind as she looked at Arthur. She didn't mean to eavesdrop on their conversation, but she had to ensure his safety.

" Yes, she will come back soon. Before that, I will honor my words."

Arthur said coldly while looking at the highest buildings. He could destroy these buildings with mere thought in his mind, but he didn't do so. The city needed to liberate itself and people needed to see who was right and wrong.

" This is the cycle of struggle. Even aspects like us can't decide other's fate as we desire."

Diana replied, patting him on his shoulder. She saw countless people in the darkness as they suffered and died for various reasons and she understood her ability to help them is limited despite her great power.

" Let's go to the south. We will go to the land of ascended and build our base there."

Arthur's eyes gleamed under the light as he turned back. Diana followed him after a moment.

Somewhere in Zaun

" So, he is followed by two enforcers and his identity is still unknown except his status as an ambassador. Are you doing your job properly?"

Renata threw away the paper in her hand to the bin as she glanced at her men with dissatisfaction. The big burly men trembled under her gaze as they lowered their heads in shame.

" Your usefulness is getting lower and lower with each passing day. Find the reason for their visit and why Camille contacted them. Otherwise, I will get rid of you by myself and I know you don't want that."

Her cold words sent shivers down their spines. The men nodded with obedience, running out from the room with fear in their hearts. They knew Renata would kill them or experiment on them because she was a materialistic woman with a cruel heart.

Her desire to dominate both of the cities destroyed her human heart a long time ago as she became a monster in human skin. She was the perfect example of the criminal syndicate.

" Bunch of fools whose value is close to zero. Even the top combatant of Noxus was dispatched with them."

Renata crushed the glass in her hand, looking outside the window.
