Chapter 100 The greatest hero

" Thank you. How long have you been waiting outside?"

Sersi took the flower with a smile on her face. She felt wonderful and happy when she met her boyfriend, Dane White. He wasn't powerful or dashing like her ex but he truly appreciated her and saw her as a unique person. Thus, she accepted his feelings for her.

" Not much. I was waiting for you to finish it and look."

He took out 2 tickets from his pockets. It was the movie that Sersi wanted to watch before. She told him that she wanted to see this movie because her favorite actors were there.

" Thank you! This is so wonderful."

A smile bloomed on her face as she hugged the flowers tightly. The staff shook their heads with smiles on their face as the manager motioned her to leave the work quickly. They couldn't bind lovebirds who were trying to reach their nest.

" OK, wait for me here. I will be right back after changing my clothes."

She hastily ran to the locker room as she gave her flowers to him. Dane sheepishly grinned with a gentle face on his face, smelling the remaining perfume on the air. The floral scent of Sersi was like a bouquet in his hands. It was both innocent and beautiful.

" Done! Did I keep you here long?"

She fixed her messy hair while taking the flowers. Dane shook his head at her words, grabbing her soft hands with a gentle touch. It was warm and squishy like a baby's hand.

" Have a good evening, Sersi!"

The manager shouted, waving her hands with a big grin on her face as others nodded at them.

" Gosh!"

Sersi felt embarrassed by their attics as she quickly led him away to the streets. The outside wasn't bustling like a few days ago because humanity's greatest hero fell to the villains, but what she could do in that situation except watch it with a bitter smile? She knew she couldn't involve herself in their fight and there was nothing she could do.

" Right! There is our car."

Dane pointed at the old sedan as they crossed the street. However, Sersi who was smiling suddenly felt something was wrong as she felt her hair rising.

" Sersi! What is wrong?"

Dane grabbed her hand, looking at her eyes with worry. He could tell she wasn't acting like her usual self and seemed to be lost in her thoughts.

" Nothing! I just felt ominous."

She spoke as she regained her composure but she couldn't shake off this feeling that was stuck in her head.

" Sersi!"

Just as they were about to reach their car, a young girl stood before them with a smile. Her ginger hair stood out among the crowd and she seemed to know about her.

" Sprite? What are you doing here?"

Sersi asked with confusion, not understanding why she was there. She was supposed to be with Ajak but she was standing right before her eyes.

" There is something I need to tell you."

Sprite said with a light tone, trying to convince something to her before a roar came out. A big black creature appeared from the other end of the block Sersi's eyes grew bigger with surprise.

" Run!"

She pulled both of them away from the daze, running to the other end with her utmost, yet the monster caught them immediately. Its huge claw threw Sersi to the building as it greedily looked at Sprite who was tripped.

" No!"

Dane who knew Sprite, tried to save her but the monster was too strong. Almost killing both of them with a single strike before a man shielded them with his power.

" Long time no see, Sprite."

The man spoke with a smile on his face, but before she could answer the monster pushed him to the building.

Bang*

The walls crumbled as laser pierced through the air whilst pushing it away. The man dusted his clothes, looking at the monster with anger in his eyes.

The monster seemed to recognize him, pulling the truck with his sharp claws. The truck which was speeding, was unable to stop its inertia as it flipped with great force.

" No!"

Sersi touched the truck with her hand, turning it into petals of flowers.
