Chapter 139 Identity Crisis

Mysterio panicked when he saw the ferocity in Peter's eyes because he believed Peter was a naive and kind type of hero but that wasn't the case. During his career as a hero, Peter saw many things, including murder and death but he always believed one good would change the world.

" Stay away from me!"

Mysterio pushed the drones toward him but Peter just webbed them like they were nothing. He even grabbed two of them and threw them back to Mysterio was cornered to the window and the wall with a pale face.

" What is wrong? How many times do you need to taint your hands with blood?"

Peter spoke harshly, slowly closing the gap between them as he approached him with a cold face. However, Mysterio who was in a panic attack, slipped back to the window while falling to the ground which made Peter rush to grab his hand.

Pss*

The engine of his suit failed which meant Mysterio was hanging on a thin thread of life and death.

" Grab my hand!"

Peter extended his hand to save Mysterio who was struggling to live.

" You!"

Mysterio who was recording the incident felt guilt for the first time in his life. He saw heroes as selfish beings for all his life, yet Peter was still willing to save the very person who ruined his life.

" Shut up and grab my hand. You can make it through this. I can recommend you to Mister Arthur. You can become a hero."

Hearing his voice made Mysterio choke with deep-seated guilt. Perhaps this was a true heroism instead of his twisted version. A kind and innocent hero who knew the truth of the world, yet he stubbornly persisted with his belief.

" Peter!"

Mysterio looked at him with a deep face while clutching the device on his chest. He pulled out it and crushed it while throwing it into the ocean without hesitation.

" I!"

Peter knew this gaze too well since he saw it a lot of times, so he tried to pull Mysterio up but the former refused to budge.

" Perhaps I was wrong in the end. You deserve to be their student. You deserve to be a hero. Thus, I beg you to stay like this forever. Don't try to jump before scums like me, Peter. The world needs a hero like you, not a fake one like me."

Peter tried to pull him up once again but Mysterio shook his head with a sorrowful smile. He took off his glove with his mouth as he pressed the button on his wrist.

Pssh*

The steam burst out from his wrist while Peter saw Mysterio who was falling to the ocean.

" No!"

He cried out with a roar, thinking he could still save him with his web but unfortunately, he was out of web fluid as his web shooter failed to deploy the web.

Meanwhile in Washington

Magneto floated before the white house, looking down at the people who were aiming guns at him.

" I have come here to talk with the president. I advise you to let down your guns because I can't guarantee your safety."

He didn't want to spill blood, knowing heroes would be deployed if he did so. Besides, the current president had a neutral view, so he hoped he would listen to him.

" All units stand down. The president wants to meet him."

The head security officer yelled, signaling others to stand down.

" Hmph!"

Magneto snorted coldly at their sight, thinking they were foolish to assume they were on the winning side.

" Guide me to him."

He looked at the secretary and said with a calm voice while the other party guided him into the Oval Office where the president was waiting for him.

" Mr. President, nice to meet you. I am here to talk with you about the matter regarding the cure."

He didn't hesitate before the other party spoke up.

" Mister Magnus, I have heard a lot about you. You must be referring to the vaccine that suppresses X Gene."

President didn't dodge his gaze because he was the face of the USA.

" Yes. Do you think you are doing a good job? You are encouraging normal mutants to abandon their identities and lose their ways. This will cause more war between us who believe we are independent race and you are threatening our existence by making mockery of us. Do you think we will accept it as Inhumans?"

Magneto said lightly with a serious face.
