" I will try to buy some time."
Xavier used his physical power to enter his mind. The pure white space welcomed him as he looked around him with curiosity.
A person's consciousness was delicate and often showed their personality like Arthur had a vast universe-like space in his mind, but this man had space like most normal people which was surprising.
" Help me!"
Suddenly he heard the cry of a man he saw a thin man who was tied with thick chains. Xavier was puzzled by the looks, guessing he might have multiple personalities.
" I will help you. Don't move!"
He approached the man, trying to free himself from the chains but he didn't notice the man's sinister face. The deep darkness that was hiding inside him, fooled Xavier whom he believed he was right.
" Thank you!"
Finally, he was able to break free from his restraints, looking at him with false gratitude.
" Tell me, what is going on? Why are you attacking us?"
Xavier spoke calmly, thinking he might get answers from him, yet only laughter waited for him. A bone-chilling cold laughter that was filled with malice hugged his body as he witnessed the consciousness space turn into a deep sticky black space where he saw nothing but darkness.
" What is going on?"
Xavier was horrified by the sudden change, guessing he might have done something terrible.
" Ah, I am finally free. I thank you for your help and I assure you that you can leave here safely. Also, I won't kill you in the real world."
The man laughed coldly, pushing him out of his mind as Xavier saw nothing but destruction. Deep-rooted malice filled in this space and he couldn't stay there anymore since he might turn into an insane person.
" Professor!"
Jean shook his body as he opened his eyes with fear. He felt his throat was scorched and looked at the floating man with deep-rooted fear in his eyes.
" Jean, we have to escape from here. You felt it, didn't you? That man is insane. He will kill everyone."
Xavier tried to reason with them, knowing they had less power than him but others didn't budge because they didn't see what he saw and they had to stop him.
" Professor, we have to stop him if what you said is true."
Scott shifted his focus back to the man, shooting his laser to take him down but the man just stood there like it was nothing.
" No, Scott!"
Jean tried to stop him, but she was too late. The man clenched his fists and flew toward them with incredible speed that created sonic booms.
Boom*
The ground was demolished instantly, creating a large crater where they saw the man was standing lofty.
" Cough* Go, we have to escape. We can't win this."
Arthur emerged from the ground, looking at him with horror. This man was even more powerful than him, Clark, and heroic spirits. Current him was no match for him, so the most logical thing to do now was to escape.
" Escape? Do you think you can escape from me?"
The man burst out with laughter as his eyes glowed with yellow light.
" Quick, cover yourselves."
Arthur immediately drew magic circles to protect himself and others from the laser while looking at him with a grimace.
" Professor, we have to turn him back to normal."
Jean said hastily, panicking a little bit now. She understood this man was much more powerful than them and perhaps he surpassed omega-level mutants. Besides, if they truly unleashed their full powers, the government would surely think of this as a declaration of war on them.
Hence, they had to resort peaceful option here.
" I will try to penetrate his mind. Jean used the gap during his mind game against me. I leave you the protection, Arthur."
Xavier placed his hand on his head to reenter his mind.
" Guys, cover them until they are ready. Don't let him get close to them."
Arthur said with a serious face while taking a deep breath to calm down.
" Let me push him first."
Storm said lightly, summoning a huge cloud in the sky. The cry of lightning echoed in the sky as the hail and wind roared under it.
