Chapter 4
"Let's go grab some lunch" my block mate asked me
I just nod at him and watch him walk away. He's such a food monster, always looking for food every time.
After my conversation with that guy, I started to reconsider my life and my decisions. I did what my psychiatrist told me, and willingly took my medications that they gave me. After a month, they let me out, though I still have to meet my psychiatrist every once in a while. I'm fixing myself now. I don't know his name, and I'm too ashamed to ask my doctor about him, but I think it would be nice if I will see him again. I want to thank him personally. He saved me.
I decided to stay at my unit. I'm leaving on my own now. I have to stay away from my dad and his new wife. I can't be with them under the same roof, not now that I'm trying to fix myself.
A few minutes later, my friend was back with his lunch. Such a foodie person.
"Here!" He said and hand me an apple
"What's this?" I asked and then I received the apple
"Obviously an apple" he sarcastically replied
"I know that idiot! Why are you giving me this? I didn't asked you to buy something for me" I said
"Just take it! Someone asked to me to give that to you" he said and started eating
"Who?" I asked
"Aw? He just gave that to me and leave. Don't tell me I am obliged to asked him his name?" such a sarcastic friend, I really did appreciate him
I just took a bite from the apple and then smiled unconsciously. Why does I feel like this is from someone I know?
After lunch, we headed back to our scheduled room. Our professor only left us a research paper that we will be submiting next meeting.
"So where are we going after this?" He asked me
"I don't know about you, I think I'll stay in the library. I need to do some book searching" he just nod and then followed me
He followed me in the library but he just sleep there. I started to look for some reference books. I was about to reached the book on the top shelf when someone's hand also reached for it, and instead of holding the book, he grab my hand. I immediately looked at the owner of the hand and was shocked to see the guy at the rooftop. I quickly pulled my hand back. He smiled at me before he pulled the book and gave it to me.
"You're acting like you're a female lead in a Korean drama." now looked at that attitude
I gave him a sharp eye and then left him standing there. Why did I ever think about thanking him in person. He followed me to our table and sat beside me. He first looked at my friend who is peacefully sleeping, then he shrugged his shoulder.
"So how was the apple" he asked and leaned at me which made me to lean back
"It was from you?" I asked him he smiled and then nodded. Why is he even smiling at me?
"Can I join you here?" He asked
"You're already sitting there" I replied and started to flip the pages of my book.
We stayed in silent for a long time. I was busy reading books and he was just sitting beside me. I often catch him looking at me on my peripheral vision, or he is looking at me the whole time.
"You don't have something to do ..?" I asked him
"Well I am doing something right now" he replied which made my brows arched
"Looked ..." I stopped when I realize that I don't even know his name
"Kaizen, just call me Kai" he quickly said and smiled at me What's with him and his smile?
"Kai, I am not fine with you being here. It makes me uncomfortable" I honestly said
"Well I guess you have to be comfortable with this uncomfortable feeling, because I planned to be with you until forever started to decide it's time to end it's infinity" he again smiled at me and place an apple juice on the table.
"Here take it, I know it's your favorite" he added
I was taken a back by what he said. We only talked for almost an hour and yet here he is showing like we've known each other for a long time.
"You're creeping me out dude" I replied and just as if on cue my good friend woke up
"Terence let's go, I need to go somewhere" I said as I stood up leaving the both of them
Terence followed me but left me afterwards because he said that he need to meet his girlfriend. I just went to the mall to buy some grocies for a week. I was on the parking lot when a nuisance arrived.
"Need any help?" he asked I just ignored him and slowly put my groceries at the back sit.
"Want me to drive for you?" He asked again
"No and stop following me" I firmly said and went inside my car
I was in a hurry to get rid of him that I maneuver my car without being careful and I ended bumping an approaching car.
"Shit!"
And immediately checked what happened. The owner of the car was so furious and he's already yelling at me. He's with someone, they were both around thirties and from what I noticed they're the type of adult who always finds trouble.
"I'm so sorry sir, I didn't mean to" I said
"You're so stupid to let you pass the driving test!" his friend said
"You need to pay for it" the owner of the car said
I looked at his car and checked it if it has any damage.
"Sir, I don't believe that I need to pay for your car, because it doesn't have any damage" I replied trying to keep my politness.
They're obviously trying to make money out of this.
"You!" He said and then a fist flew on my face
"Hey! What are you doing!" I heard Kai's voice
"It's not your business!"
The next thing I knew Kai's hugging me and entirely using his body to cover me, so basically he's taking all the punches and kicks that was intended for me. Then a few minutes later they stop beating us and leave. Kai was too beaten up that he can't even manage to stand, so I have no choice but to take him home with me.
"I told you to stop following me" I said as I am cleaning his wounds
"If I didn't then you're the one who's in this situation" he said
"Are you for real? We're not even close for you to go this far. Besides we've just met this afternoon" I replied
"Well we've already talk before" he said while trying to smile but then flinched because of the pain
"It's not enough for you to be obliged to be my friend" I said
"Well, it's already enough for me to be attached to you like this. And... I saved you last time not because I intend to be your friend" he said and leaned closer to me and whisper to my ears
"I want more than that"
