Chapter 6

Hui Zhong's POV

I woke up feeling refreshed and energised as I looked out my window with a smile, sunrise had just began which meant it was time to farm. I got up, changed and headed to do my chores for the day.

After chores were done I headed back in and put on some vocaloid songs before going to prepare some breakfast for myself, yes I listen to vocaloid at 55 even if I look 18 heh? Shameless of me I know, but in this day and age I think the phrase :" Age is just a number" is something very real to our society.

I sat down and opened my book with one hand and sipping tea in the other hand as the song "Senbonzakura" By Hatsune Miku came on and my head bobbed along to the rhythm.

After my mini karaoke session at breakfast I pondered on what to do and suddenly had the urge to text Jax, asking if I could pay a visit and see the pack, smiling to myself as I took my phone out and began to text him.

Texting time ^&^

HZ : Hey Jax, Hui Zhong here. I was wondering if I could maybe drive up for a visit and hopefully a new job?

I sighed as I put my phone down and switched the speaker off before I started to clean up the area. No more than 5 minutes after I started my chores did I hear a beep from my phone, quickly coming out of the kitchen I unlocked my phone and began texting him in reply as he was online.

JaxieBenji: Hey Hui Zhong! Didn't expect to text you so soon heh! Of course you can, why not next week since it will be Christmas?

JaxieBenji: Also if you don't mind, you'll be staying at my place with Margaret and Liliana with their mates since we don't have much space at the pack house for now due to our neighbouring pack staying for Christmas, I hope you don't mind that as it is a small tradition we have annually.

JaxieBenji:Oh and if you want, you can stay till after New Years since I wanted to discuss how the rogues were able to get so close to your house.

HZ : Of course! Anyways, I'll be bringing presents for all of us and don't worry about the space issue, I'll bring a tent just in case k old man? See ya!

JaxieBenji: *Dramatically rolls my eyes* Whatever old lady, I'll set up the guest rooms now, if you want you can

actually come today since the other's are already here.

HZ: Really? Well I have a shit ton of things to pack since I'll be staying till after the new year so tomorrow it is!

JaxieBenji: Alright, I'll see you tomorrow then bye!

End of texting ^&^

I laughed as I put my phone down and went back to doing the dishes, I couldn't believe the once powerful and feared Alpha Jax had such a cheesy username to show how whipped he is for his mate.

I Guess love is a powerful thing and add the mating bond into the equation, BOOM! You have yourself a fully whipped and puppy-like alpha mate. Of course saying I never knew what that feeling of a mate is like is probably the biggest lie I've ever said but I honestly envy my friends who have mates when I lost mine so badly......

I shook my head in an effort to snap out of my rambling and quickly finished all the dishes and headed to my room, taking out my chest full of cloth and other sewing tools. I figured that since they'd have everything under the sun with that unending wealth of theirs, I should make something instead and make something I did.

I began to carefully set up my worktable for embroidering by hand which I knew would be a pain to finish but since it was a small pattern I figured that it shouldn't be so difficult to make small handkerchiefs for the few of us.

After what seemed like an eternity of embroidering, I realised I ran out of thread and decided to head to the town behind my place to buy some fabric and thread. I sighed and got up to grab my bag and coat before heading to down to my truck and driving out.

I reached the town and realised that the Christmas cheer was all around, people were smiling and chatting while children were laughing and playing. It wasn't long before I'd get my share of Christmas joy too, I finally arrived at the sewing shop and got out of my truck.

"Hello? Annie are you in?" I called out for the shopkeeper who became a friend ever since she found out I could do traditional hand embroidery, she made a deal with me to teach her my skills in exchange for getting discounts on cloth and other sewing supplies.

I chuckled as I remembered her reaction when she found out how I could do it well, but frowned when I realised she wasn't in despite the sign saying "Open!" and the lights were all on.

I shrugged and walked in, 'Oh well, maybe I'll just wait for her to come out and pick what I need first then.' I thought to myself as I headed towards the thread section with a basket in my hand, ready to take all the colours I could get.

Just as I was about to reach the thread section, someone tapped my shoulder and I froze, immediately closing my eyes and moving my hand up to shield my face in case of an attack.

After what seemed like forever, I couldn't help but stupidly open my eyes only to see a beautiful pair of colour-mismatched eyes staring back at mine with a mixture of shock, anger , curiosity and fear.

I slowly put my hand down and the beautiful man in front of my grabbed my wrists, causing a familiar tingle of sparks to fly on my hand as the last thing I felt before I passed out from the stress into his arms.
