Chapter Twenty Two

December 23rd, one of the most dreadful days of the year. Not only is it Christmas Eve Eve, but it's also the most chaotic day at home.

I seem to get the last minute thing from my parents, because currently, at 4pm, we are getting in the car to go Christmas shopping.

Side note: mall closes at 6.

That means two hours to buy gifts for the thirty billion relatives we have. Let's do this Hawkwoods.

Evelyn and Evan lazily get into the car, followed by me in the back seat. For three young adults, the backseat of our old Toyota is a little crammed up. I could say this is a yearly tradition, if I wanted to.

"No, I just need to buy these shirts! It'll take like thirty seconds to pay!"

"Sorry sir, mall closes at 6. Its 6:10 already. Employees need to go home for Christmas Eve."

"For god's sake, Christmas Eve is tomorrow evening. And if I don't buy these shirts, three people won't get Christmas gifts from me. Come on!"

Oh dad, please don't embarrass us further.
