After my small speech, I stand there, waiting for an answer, but it doesn't come.
"You don't have anything else to say?" I question. He has to say something. Maybe he's changed his mind?
"I'm only telling you to leave because it's best for you." He says a little more softly, his eyebrows creasing.
"You're not gonna change your mind are you?" I ask him and he shakes his head, his lips pressed into a thin line, his body fully tense.
"Well, I don't know how this works but...goodbye Elijah." I spit out his name and turn away quickly, not wanting to look at his pretty face.
"Goodbye, babygirl." I hear him whisper before tears are streaming down my cheeks. I quickly wipe them but they keep coming. I get dressed to leave and call for an Uber.
