Chapter Seventy Two

I ended up having to tell Avery and Reagan about our relationship that barely lasted and cried over it for days. Evan and Evelyn kinda got to know that I was dating someone, just not who exactly.

After the breakup, I became more confident, a different person than I was before. Not so naive and oblivious.

Flashback

It was about eleven at night. Evan and Evelyn were supposed to be home hours ago, because it's a school night. Neither of them are picking up the phone or responding to my text messages, and mom and dad are worried. I convinced them that they're probably just out with friends and they'll be home soon, so they've gone to bed.

It's been a few months since the breakup and Evan, Evelyn and I have gotten so much closer, closer than ever before. I decide to ring up Evan again.

He picks up on the sixth ring.

"Evan? Hello?" I whisper into the phone, hoping mom and dad won't wake up.

"Hey, Erin? You awake?" He asks quietly.
