Chapter Eighty Seven

Present

I decide to sit around on my phone until dinner. Mom makes some kind of pasta, and it surprisingly hasn't come out as puke, at least not yet.

"I'm tired, I'm gonna go sleep." Dad says with a yawn. He removes his arm from around mom and shakes her slightly. She's already dozed off.

"Okay goodnight." I whisper.

"She's not waking up." Dad says.

I give her a harder shove. Instead she curls up into a ball and nuzzles her head into the corner of the sofa seat.

"She's a huge pain in the butt." Dad says to himself and chuckles before sliding his arms under her knees and her back. He hoists her up and begins to carry her bridal style, leaving a kiss on my forehead.

"Goodnight Erin." He whispers to me.

"Goodnight Dad." And he's gone, making me feel more empty than ever.

I sit around and I take a quick glance at my phone reading 2:07, before I doze off into a deep sleep.

The next morning, I wake up to Evan shaking me violently.

"Wake up!" He screams in my face.
