One Down, Two More To Go

"Do you remember what you do if you need me?" Damon asked in the back of the car as his eyes looked intensely into mine.

"Yes." I nodded. "I think it's going to be fine though. We're in a public setting and they think you're out of town."

I was meeting Zachariah for the dinner we had set up. It was time to get our plan in motion. Tonight he was the priority. Tomorrow he will be joined by Alastair and Meredith. We couldn't let there be too much of a gap in case they started to suspect something was up.

"I just want you to be safe." I could hear the concern in his voice. "We're too close to chance letting our guards down."

"I know." I agreed. Vengeance was so close I could almost taste it at this point. I was making sure there was no way this would be screwed up.

Damon placed his lips onto mine and kissed me passionately. One of his hands went to my waist and the other to the back of my head to deepen the kiss. Our lips battled for a moment longer before he pulled away. I couldn't keep Zachariah waiting any longer.

"Be safe." He spoke as I opened the car door.

"I will." I reassured him. They Bushemp's wouldn't harm me, they needed me for the trust fund.

"I love you." He spoke once more. I could see in his expression that he didn't like this idea one bit. It's what we had to do if we wanted to take them all down at once.

"I love you too." I gave him a small smile and shut the car door.

I headed inside of the restaurant that I had requested Zachariah meet me at. Damon had security all around and was waiting outside. As soon as we had a moment Zachariah would be taken by surprise and knocked out. Then it would be off to the warehouse where he would stay our prisoner.

I approached the hostess. "I have a reservation, it should be under the last name Bushemp."

She looked down to confirm and then back up to me. "The other member of your party arrived about five minutes ago. Follow me and I'll take you to the table." She smiled.

"Thank you." I smiled in return.

She led me through the tables of people until we reached the one where Zachariah was seated. He stood up from his chair. "Kaydence, it's nice to see you again." He stuck his hand out.

I took it and shook it. "It's nice to see you as well." I responded as I took my seat across from him.

"Grandmother was pleased when I told her that we were getting dinner tonight." He informed me. "She's really glad that you finally came to your senses and will be joining us in Dallas."

I scoffed to myself mentally. Came to my senses? Coming from the conceded money hungry bitch. I'll show her how much I've really come to my senses tomorrow. Until then, I needed to play a long.

"What can I say? I thought we were in love." I made it a point to sound disappointed. They thought I was leaving Damon so I needed to play the part well.

"That man wouldn't know what love was if it hit him right in the face." Zachariah scoffed.

I buried the anger and annoyance inside of me as my true feelings were beginning to try to surface. "Zachariah, I don't want to talk about Damon Tipton right now. I want to talk about our family. I want to know that I've made the right decision."

"You're right." He nodded. "I shouldn't be here talking about that monster. What would you like to know?"

Throughout our meal I spent the time asking questions that made it seem like I genuinely wanted to know them. I asked about how good of a grandmother Meredith was, his response was that she was good but she could be extremely selfish. I already knew that about her though. The more information I had learned only proved how extreme it really was though.

I proceeded to ask more questions as we ate our meal together. I asked about Bushemp Industries and the role that Zachariah played. Apparently he was a manager there and was next in line for the CEO spot, that was before their downfall really began. Thanks to Damon the company's future was looking very grim.

"Excuse me for a moment. I need to use the restroom." Zachariah wiped his face and stood up from the table.

"Take your time." I gave him a small smile.

I watched as he headed for the hallway the bathroom was in. I pulled my purse over and took out the liquid substance Damon told me to use if I had the chance. I glanced back to make sure there was still no sign of Zachariah. When the coast was clear I dumped it into his water and put the bottle back in my purse. This would make getting him to the warehouse a lot easier for us.

I sat back in my chair and waited patiently. It wasn't long before he had returned. He sat down and finished the water, totally unaware that I had slipped something into it. I watched as he finished it. We sat and chatted for a little longer. I needed to kill a little time before it finally kicked in for him.

I glanced at the clock in the restaurant after waiting a little bit. I had waited long enough. "I better get back home to my daughter. I'll see you tomorrow with grandmother and your father won't I?"

"Yes." He responded. "Let me walk you out. Grandmother would kill me if I didn't."

"Okay." I nodded.

We stood up from the table. By looking at him I could tell he was beginning to feel the effects of the drug. He didn't say anything though. He walked beside me as if nothing was wrong. He followed me as I headed for the parking garage. Damon had counted on him walking me out and wanted me to bring him here, where his abduction would remain private.

I reached the Mercedes we had been chauffeured around in and turned to face Zachariah. "This is it." I smiled.

Before he could respond Spencer and another one of Damon's guards grabbed him and held him in place. I could see the panic on his face, the drug had kicked in and he couldn't fight back. The panic only got worse as Damon stepped out of the car and approached Zachariah. He searched his pockets and took his phone from him.

"What the fuck?!" Zachariah looked between Damon and I.

"You won't be needing this anymore." Damon spoke in a dark and sadistic tone. He turned to me and planted a kiss on my cheek. "Well done Love. One down, two more to go."
