Chapter 9

On the battlefield, Koa was covered in blood and had cuts all over his body. During the onslaught, Koa was constantly fighting no breaks could be made unless he wanted to die. Koa had just finished fighting a demon, then a roar sound from behind Koa. When Koa turned around he saw the demon. Its blade had a stream of blood coming from it, and it had not breastplate. The demons that Koa would have had to fight avoided him; it was as if this demon had laid claim to Koa.

'Oh, is that how it is?' Koa said in his head.

"I don't think will be a fair fight. I am cut up and lost a decent amount of blood, but you look as if you haven't been touched by a single blade." Koa said to the Demon.

"@%$@&fg" The demon responded.

"Haha. I have no idea what you said but lets get this over with." Koa

Koa was confident in his ability to kill this demon just like the others. Koa dash towards the demon swinging his sword at its neck. The demon just leaned back dodging the sword. This surprised Koa but was soon sent flying as he was punched by the demon. Koa puked up blood and all his cuts were also bleeding more profusely.

"Fuck. Was not expecting that most of the demons were pretty slow." Koa said as he spit blood out of his mouth.

The demon was just walking toward Koa, you could hear its feet thumping on the ground.

'It beats me in strength and speed; my best chance will be wait till it gets closer and try to stab it with my sword.' Koa's thought as the footsteps came closer.

The footsteps soon came to a stop; Koa took this chance to stab the demon.

*Tink*

Koa's blade hit the abdominal region of the demon, but the blade did not even pierce its skin. The demon grabbed Koa's wrists and started to squeeze. This cause Koa to let go of the blade; after he let go the demon headbutt him. Koa got knocked to the ground and was in a daze. The demon grabbed his blood-soaked sword and thrusted it downward toward Koa's chest. Koa just got out of his daze and grabbed the blade of the sword. The sword was slowed by Koa's hands, but it did not stop completely. The blade punctured Koa's right side and the demon began to walk away.

"Ahhhhh. FUCK… You bastard." Koa yelled.

Using most of his strength Koa began to remove the sword. When the sword was removed Koa was drove by adrenaline alone. He tumbled to his feet from the pain of all his wounds. Koa began to follow the demon.

'Even if I die I'm going to kill this motherfucker. I can't penetrate his skin, then I will have to do something more gruesome.' Koa Thinking.

Koa didn't pick up the blade because he felt as if he wouldn't be able to swing it when he reached the demon. Koa began limping behind the trail of the demon; human and demon corpses scattered on the ground. The ground was stained by blood of both demons and humans. The closer Koa got the dimmer his vision became. Koa continued following the demon, he saw that the demon stopped moving in the middle of the battlefield.

"Are you waiting for me? Haha" Koa said as blood slowly trickled out of his mouth.

Koa vision was now almost a pinhole that had its sights on the demon. Koa did not care what was around him, he merely wanted to kill this demon. The demon raised it hand in the air for some reason and began to chant something. Koa paid this no mind; when he came close enough to the demon; he jumped on its back.

"Your body might be as hard as a blade but are your eyes." Koa

Koa dug three of his fingers in the eyes of the demon. The demon screamed in pain and threw Koa in front of him, interrupting its chant. It also caused the demon to lose one of its eyes, that was in the hands of Koa. The demon was infuriated and grabbed its sword. Walking towards Koa, then brought the sword above its head and was swinging it downward. Before the blade met Koa a red bright light filled the battlefield.

Before Koa fought the strong demon, City Lord Jase was discussing with the other City Lord and Commanders of the army.

"If we try to save the soldiers that are on the battlefield we would lose more lives than we would be saving." Jase

"So, you just want us to leave our soldiers to die." Hemis and the others in commend said.

"Yes and no." Jase said with a serious look on his face.

"What do you mean then?" Hemis look at his with confused look.

"We all know that if we do not stop the demons here many cities will probably fall; even ours. Sacrificing more of our soldiers would be a waste. So, in order to perverse our soldiers that are safe, we will use the soldiers on the current battle to stall." Jase

"Stall for what exactly?" Hemis

"Your mage came with you right?" Jase

"Yes. There is no reason not to." Hemis

"I brought two mages as well. We will use their magic to wipe the battlefield kill everything." Jase.

"…" Hemis and the others were dead silent.

"Its better to use them, while they're still alive. If anyone has a different idea to preserve our live and the remain soldiers you can speak up." Jase.l

"Fine, but if we do this our battle will be called at a draw. Neither of use lose land, we only lost soldiers." Hemis said looking serious but was glad to take advantage of the situation.

"Deal. Its better than losing my city in the end." Jase was pissed off by Hemis's demand but need to accept to use his mage.
