..............................................

On the corner that Alex was looking there was a simple contraption, made from a tube measuring from the ceiling to the ground connected to a porcelain basin. Using a plastic tube that Alex had found a few days ago it served to gather water from the rain. Although in Meteor City the occurrence of rain was rare, it still rains a few times each month or so.

Lucky or not, the day before it had rained leading to the basin be filled with water.

Alex approached it and separated the water gathered into different recipients. One larger that was meant to be his drinking water and the remaining he drained it to a rare clear glass cup he had traded a few days ago with the alley's trader.

Being a junkyard any kind of glass object that still resembled the original was considered a rare object. Alex only managed to get one for a simple reason: glass objects, although being rare, weren't very valuable. The people here had many better choices raging from porcelain objects to some rarer galvanized steel objects.

Alex took the glass cup, a leaf and went back to spot where he usually meditated. He sat on the ground and put the cup in front of him. He looked at it and began to go over every detail he remembered about the Water Divination. Also something that he had found out very quickly is that because of his monstrous brain capacity that came from the perk [Limitless Learning Capacity], he could remember clearly about all he had seen about HunterxHunter and he had also gained photographic memory.

Instantly, the details about the water test appeared on his mind, 'The Water Divination is the most popular way across the world of HunterxHunter to know your Nen type. The procedure is pretty simple, it just requires one to float a leaf atop a glass of water. Then one simply needs to use Nen while placing their hands around the glass and perform Ren (or focus a greater than normal amount of aura in their hands, such as through Gyo). The resulting effect from one's aura contacting the glass will determine a person's aura type.

-If the volume of the water changes, then the user is an Enhancer.

-If the taste of the water changes, then the user is a Transmuter.

-If impurities appear in the water, then the user is a Conjurer.

-If the color of the water changes, then the user is an Emitter.

-If the leaf moves on the water's surface, then the user is a Manipulator.

-If a completely different change appears, then the user is a Specialist.'

Alex was completely aware of the aura types differences. Basically Enhancers have the ability to use aura to increase the natural abilities of an object or one's own body. One perfect example is the protagonist of HxH{1}, Gon Freecss.

Transmuters can change the properties of their aura to mimic something else, or only specific attributes. They can also change the shape of their aura. The most famous one is Gon's friend, Killua Zoldyck which can transform his Nen into electricity.

Conjurers have the ability to create a physical, independent, material object out of one's aura. However, users of this category can also create laws and principles and affix them to a specific area. Gon's other friend, Kurapika can conjure some chains that have restrictions about their purpose making them very strong and effective.

Emitters have an easier time separating their aura from their body. Aura usually decreases in intensity very quickly when it leaves the source body, but adept Emitters can separate their aura from their body for long periods of time, over long distances, and still be able to maintain it and its functions. Leorio also is an Emitter enabling him to punch his adversaries through long distances.

Manipulator allow the user to control living or non-living things, including aura constructs. One of the most famous is Shalnark which uses two small antennae on the target and by using his bat like cell phone to control it.

Specialists are a special category. Specialization could be broadly defined as anything that does not belong in any of the other five categories, making it the vaguest Nen type. Basically they are the rarest and most difficult to deal of Nen users since their ability is unique to them. There are many Specialists that appear in HxH, but most prominent was without a doubt the main antagonist of HxH, Meruem.

Alex took a deep breath and extended his hands to the cup till his palms just a few centimeters of the sides. He began to focus on his Nen, calmly releasing it. With his mind doing enormous amount of adjustments he managed to control the release and without any sort of problem, he achieved Ren.

He gazed at the water along with leaf. Even though he knew that the possibility of anything out of the ordinary happen was small, he still feared that because he wasn't originally from this world that the laws of this place wouldn't recognize him.

But just a few seconds later, that worry vanished as some changes began to occur on the cup of water. The leaf dissipated meanwhile the water began to turn darker and darker. In the midst of the darkness, Alex could see tiny white dots appearing all around the water. Even they were small, he could still see an impossible number of them inside of small cup of water.

Just as Alex was about to cut the supply of Nen, he noticed that the small dots began to aggregate forming larger dots, while beginning to spin around themselves.

He looked astonished while muttering, "Isn't that... isn't that a galaxy?"

He looked closer and as the dots began to aggregate they began to form tails leading to the final shape seem like a star. He never thought that his Nen would cause such strange but while he began to concentrate more on the galaxies he felt a monstrous amount of knowledge entering his mind.

Even with [Limitless Learning Capacity] which boosted his brain considerably, his still adapting brain couldn't bear that sudden amount of information. Like a cut marionette, Alex fainted.

Alex dreamed about his past life and all the past events he had witnessed. Past loves, past sorrows, past scuffles, past joy, all in a bundle of utter melancholy.

He knew that one of his biggest resentments was not having a chance of saying goodbye to his family. To the father that shouldered his family through economic crisis while having always a smile on his face. His mother the only one that still said to him to follow his dreams and never let others say otherwise, while always without knowledge of his father sending some money when he was unemployed.

This thing always bared a heavy burden on his heart. Like an infection giving it time it would evolve from a small gash to an incurable injury.

But he never thought that while dreaming he would be able to see those memories. Memories of him spending time with them, laughing, crying, sulking and venting. Like a skilled artificer, the memories slowly unfurled the knot on his heart. He felt like although he still resented himself for leaving with saying goodbye he knew that he couldn't do anything about it other than to live, to continue living.

He looked at the mist like figure of his parents and said, "Mom, Dad I'm very sorry I didn't say goodbye to you. I still wished that we could have spent more time together and perhaps you could see your future grandchildren. I know that it's impossible now but I will never forget all those times we spent together laughing. Thank you for everything and I love you very much!"

The figures of mist seemed to nod at the boy while waving their hands while dispersing into fine particles swept by the wind of melancholy.

When Alex opened his eyes he was already back on the room. He touched his face, feeling it moist probably from tears. He stood there quietly but he firmly got. He cleaned his eyes of all the remaining tears and if there was anyone there, he would see where once was a gazed filled with traces of uncertainty and resentment now stood an ambitious and firm gaze.

He walked to a more spacious spot of the room and released his Nen once again. This time he didn't bother to restrain his Nen. Like a raging flame, waves of darkish Nen exploded from him. Raising his arm in front of him, he said "Infinite Dimensions: 1st Form, Dáinsleif Edge."
