Goodbye, Trash City

Alex cleaned himself while recalling the plan. He had seen all the things that pushed people here at Meteor City. Most of them only stayed here because of the discrimination that the outside world put on people coming from the 'Trash City'.

In the past month, his mentality had taken a complete turnover. Coming from a world where killing was considered a big deal and where even someone powerful may have to pay because of their crimes, the way that the HxH World worked shocked him deeply.

He knew that in a world where people could get access to absurd amounts of strength, the laws had to be completely different. But from thinking to actually witnessing it that was a too big of a step to take on the first moments he had arrived at this world. He had witnessed mothers letting their babies starve, children killing their fathers for food, people killing others for their possessions and other horrible things that were terrifying.

The first time he saw someone die, his brain didn't immediately register that event. Only when he saw the dead man's daughter laughing at her father's corpse after taking a piece of bread from his pocket did it fell on him.

One couldn't survive in a society where the law of the jungle was used on regular basis without power. This though made his whole idea of meeting his favorite characters and having a good time with them be completely crushed. How could he meet them without having enough strength to protect himself? How in the world would he survive till he reached that point?

Alex became completely entranced on these questions. He needed power and for that he needed to be prepare to kill and to be killed.

He had fought for a piece of bread and that lead him to kill for the first time. Gazing at scrawny body of a child of similar age as him didn't even spark a shred of pity or guilt. At some points, he felt like the perk [Limitless Learning Capacity] didn't only increase his chances of survival as it also was constantly decreasing things that could pose danger to him, like feelings. He thought of some famous people saying that, "The more intelligent an individual is the less attached to people the individual was."

Thinking this he could only shake his head.

'The more one wants, the more one loses.'

He went a hidden spot on the room from where he took a black suitcase. He opened it and in there was a white shirt, a black vest, black tie, dark pants and a pair of black shoes. While he was sure that most of the inhabitants wouldn't find this valuable, he still looked at it as a way to hid his birthplace from the outsiders.

He began to dress himself till he looked completely different from his original self. His previous dirty and pestilent look now had become handsome, elegant even if he was still on the scrawny side. He went up the stair and noticed that the sky was already dark.

Outside of the crumbling silo, Alex looked back and recalled all the things that he had done so that he could reach to this point. After a month he had finally enough strength to exit this godforsaken place and nothing would stop him.

Stepping a bit from the silo, he focused one of the pillars. Nen appeared on his body but it quickly disappeared.

He walked away from the silo, heading straight for the boundaries of Meteor City.

Just a few moments after he left, the silo finally collapsed along with the underground room with a thundering noise. All the people that heard the noise began to run towards it attract to it like a moth to flames. While running they didn't notice a seemingly well-dressed figure that made its way calmly in the opposite direction.

They passed him like he was nothing but air. Alex continue to walk taking the opportunity to practice Zetsu{1}. Minutes later, he was already outside of Meteor City and began his path to his first destination, Yorknew City.

Yorknew City

Inside a Cafe, people were minding their own businesses. Some ate breakfast before going to their work, others talked with their colleagues about how the boss deserved to promote them or give them a raise and others had arrived from their night shift, hoping to finally going to home and have some rest.

Most people in Yorknew City follow this things, but on this particular day something had happened that broke the routine of most people in the Cafe. In a spot near the glass window of the Cafe, a boy was drinking a cup of coffee while looking at the street through the glass. He was fully immersed in the things happening in the street and the gentle act of sipping the coffee, completely oblivious of the gazes he was attracting.

Women looked at him charmingly and men looked enviously. The fair looks and dreamy face coupled with his long blond hair and elegant outfit became a magnet of both lust as anger. The boy's every move was seen as an epitome of grace and his every look seemed to see through their very being.

The boy finished drinking and called the waiter with the raise of his hand. The young waiter shyly walked to the boy's table and asked stuttering, "Y-yes, Si-sir?"

All the people looked at the young waiter like she was the smudge on the masterpiece. The young waiter looked down as she couldn't help but feel bashfully shy and embarrassed.

The boy looked at the young waiter and gazed discreetly at all the other people. He got up and took the hand of the young waiter, "People are often mistaken about some matters but I for once feel that beautiful woman like you shouldn't feel embarrassed and look down."

The young waiter was immediately captivated by those words and slowly she began lifting her head till she met the boy's gaze. She couldn't see anything in them other than feeling like she was gazing at something beyond her understanding. The boy took a single note and gave it to her.

"So don't look down and always be proud of how you are. Always keep your head up. Here's for the coffee the rest is your tip."

The men, women and the young waiter were deeply moved by those words. Although they already heard those things from movie or famous movie stars, coming from the mouth of this boy seemed to have other meanings. They could almost feel the sense of pride that the boy emanated from his entire being.

When they finally came out of their reminiscence, the boy had already disappeared.

Meanwhile, the cause of such event was calmly walking to a tall building. Looking at one of the step stones for his true goal, the boy couldn't help but grin. The starting point of his true quest in this world, the World of HunterxHunter!
