Chapter 95: Hospitable hostilities.

Qin Qianyu settled in to eat her meal. Half an hour later she had polished back two meals and started snacking on some mixed nuts.

As she was figuring out on where to go next, Qin Qianyu heard some rustling behind her.

She stepped towards a tree to hide and pulled her hood, fully covering her face.

She quickly saw a group of people coming her way.

There were 13 in this group. 11 of them were armed with both semi and full automatic rifles.

The one leading them looked like a local. Qin Qianyu noticed one man was translating from Laotian into English and Burmese.

"Hey, I don't care if his son needs a wife or ten wives! I just want to know how positive is he that they came from here? This is already our fifth damn mountain village! And they all came up with nothing!"

"If we keep this up we might as well all wear sirens on our heads and make our presence know to the damn authorities!"

"He's saying that if the man you're looking for had any friendly ties it would most probably be this village here. All the other villages around this mountain don't take kindly to strangers."

"Hmph, it better be here, otherwise I'll send you, him and his damn son down the Mekong river."

" . . . "

Qin Qianyu stealthily followed them as they headed towards the thatched village.

As she did, she was able to pick up a few tidbits of information from their conversations.

One, was to find if the "old China man" had left any clues behind and that this team had been sent to retrieve him.

This was both good and bad news for Qin Qianyu, she now knew that he hadn't been caught or died. But, he's missing somewhere in these mountains

Two, they were to find any clues of the map he had taken and if he had hidden it here at this very village when he and the hostage escaped.

Meanwhile back at the clandestine city lab, Wu Yihuan was going over the tasks Qin Qianyu had left for her.

"God, does she think I'm an immortal cultivator or something? . . I mean who in the world . . Ugh!"

Frustrating thoughts started to plague her mind.

"Let's do some retail therapy!"

Wu Yihuan headed out to purchase some supplies. She had visited a few shops and wondered how she was supposed to bring all of these back to the city lab.

She had noticed a few vehicles at the lab, but since Qin Qianyu didn't give her permission to use them she thought it best to leave them.

Wu Yihuan went to a used car seller with a thought of but a cheap run about for herself.

She went to the closest dealership to her with her arms filled with her shopping.

She found a cheap affordable car which was around 900 thousand yuan and dumped all of her shopping into it.

A salesmen came up and queried her,

"Miss, this car isn't yours,"

"Not yet, do up the paperwork I'll purchase it outright in full."

" . . . "

He looked at Wu Yihuan wondering if she was here to cause trouble or if she was part of a prank.

He sighed to himself lightly. Since he had started this job, the other workers hadn't stop hazing him.

He did up the paperwork and a sense of relief washed over him as the payment went through without trouble.

Wu Yihuan signed all the related forms and took the keys and left.

The salesman was delighted. The car had been sitting in the lot for some time but the price was a little too steep for a second hand vehicle.

Wu Yihuan drove the car back to the lab. She unloaded her purchases then went out again.

This time she visited antique and book stores.

She wanted to find resource materials to help her train as the tasks Qin Qianyu had left for were beyond any normal scope she had ever encountered.

She walked down the back alleys at a slow pace mainly taking in the sights. She then chanced upon an old antique store.

But rather than call it an old antique store it would best be described as an old timer junk depository for all things from a bygone era.

Wu Yihuan wasn't in any rush so she decided to take a look anyway.

Wu Yihuan found a book inside the old antique store. What amused her was the insanely long title.

"Light as a wisp of breath bounding pass the dragons tail like a blinding light flashing across the night skies! . . . Okaaay! . . "

The elderly shopkeeper came over. He didn't think that Wu Yihuan would be interested in anything here.

Most of the stuff here only attracted those of the older generations that were looking for a sense of nostalgia.

"Miss are you interested in this old book?"

"The title is very interesting which is what drew my eyes. What can you tell me about it?"

"These manuscripts in this book came from a famed but now defunct Martial Arts Family. From what I've been told, this is a movement art that their first patriarch had created. There are three books in total that came here. The other two are a little worse for wear, well in all honesty, basically they are damaged too extensively, but if you purchase this, I'll give you the other two for free."

Wu Yihuan smiled and nodded to the elder,

"Alright, you have a deal."

The elderly man was delighted to had made a sale.

"Elder, I want to look around some more, can you put aside this book along with the other two while I still browse?"

"Of course little Miss. if there's something in particular that you're looking for I can point you in the right direction!"

Wu Yihuan thought about it for a bit. She wasn't sure what she wanted she was just buying to relieve some stress.

"Tea! Do you perhaps have any beautiful tea sets here?"

The old man smiled and directed her to a corner of the store.

Wu Yihuan thanked him and went over to have a look. She noticed how Qin Qianyu liked tea so she thought of buying her a nice set.

She soon chuckled to herself as she browsed the many sets on display.

"Haha, I'm buying you a gift with the money you gave,"

Wu Yihuan quipped to herself. She shook her head at the irony.

As she gazed upon the sets she notice she found herself looking back to a set made out of wood quite often.

She couldn't shake the feeling that it was special somehow.

The set consisted of the pot itself, eight cups two large plates and eight saucers. All packed in an ornately carved Nanmu box.

What really attracted her to this box was the four guardian beasts on each corner with the fifth, the Qilin making up the handle of the lid.

Wu Yihuan nodded, she knew she just had to have this tea set. It wasn't just because of the box, the jinsi of the wood was also the decisive factor too.

She picked up the set and went off to find the elderly owner.

"I'm sorry sir, like I told you before, this item has already been bought by another, so you can either look for something else or you can leave,"

"Fine! You greedy old thing! 20 times what that person paid that's my final offer now give it over."

"I'll give nothing over! This isn't mine to give! How many times do I have to tell you, this item has already been bought so why do you keep negotiating!? I want you to leave my store now and stop causing trouble here!"

"Tsk! . . Old man! Whenever I set out to get anything! . . I get it so you understand?"

"Wow! Your entitlement is so large! How'd you get it through that little door!?"

Wu Yihuan quipped. She had listened in on the conversation happening between a young man in his 20s and the shopkeeper and couldn't hold back anymore.

The young man turned back to look at Wu Yihuan. He cocked an eyebrow when he saw her.

He started to scan her up and down then he softened his look. He definitely liked what he saw.

He smiled sweetly and spoke softly, without the previous arrogance.

"Miss, please don't judge me just yet, you see this man here has been raising the price on this item I want to buy. But it seems he has this fake buyer he just conveniently happened to sell it to. It's a standard tactic for shops like this in order to snatch more money from unsuspecting people. I wasn't being a jerk on purpose, it's just I've had enough of sly people like him."

Wu Yihuan said nothing and shook her head as she placed the wooden box down on the counter.

"You found the one you like young Miss."

"Indeed, this'll make a great present. It was really my good fortune to come out today."

"Great, let me price everything up for you."

The young man became irritated by the fact that he was being ignored by both Wu Yihuan and the elderly man.

The man snorted and tossed a card on the counter and grabbed the book,

"There's 10 million Yuan on that card, the pin number is 1234. Keep the change."

The man turned to leave the store while the old man protested and tried in vain to stop him.

The young man struck out, knocking the store owner to the ground,

"Old man my patience is limited, don't get too greedy!"

Suddenly, the young man felt a slap to the face and his hand feeling lighter.

Wu Yihuan had stepped in and retrieved her book and tossed his card back,

"This elder wasn't lying when he said it was already sold. It's mine so take your card and piss off!"

The young man was furious then he rushed Wu Yihuan. He started doing some strange kata that suggested that he was a martial arts practitioner.

Wu Yihuan was no slouch either, she didn't get to be the commander of PIT on her brains and looks alone,

The pair started fighting in store. Wu Yihuan made sure not to fight near the unconscious store keeper.

It didn't take long for Wu Yihuan to take control and kick the man to the ground. She dusted herself off and went to pick up the dropped book.

Suddenly Wu Yihuan felt raising heat coming from her shoulder following a cracking sound.

Her outstretched arm went limp and fell to her side. Wu Yihuan looked up to see another man standing next to the young man.

"You dare to place your filthy hands on my young master!? . . Allow me to show you the folly of such actions."

Wu Yihuan was fuming now. Now only was her book stolen right in front of her, now she was being attacked by this man's goon.

This new persons martial skills were all beyond that of the young man and also herself.

In mere moments, Wu Yihuan was on her knees panting and bleeding from the mouth from being struck so many times.

The young man motioned with his head and several other people came into the store.

They held her up and bound her arms behind her as the elder picked up the young man off the ground.

The young man sneered at Wu Yihuan then walked slowly towards her. He gripped Wu Yihuan by the chin and squeezed hard as he cocked her head upwards to look at him.

"Stupid bitch! . . It didn't have to be this way you know! We're all civilised people here. Yet you had to go and do something like this? . . Tsk, such a spicy beauty! . . Too bad for you though. I've lost all interest . . . Well . . Maybe not . . All! Haha,"

The man says as he gropes Wu Yihuan's breasts in turn.

Wu Yihuan shimmies her body left and right to get her breast out of his hands then spits right in his face once she meets that goal.

The young man wipes off the pinkish saliva into his hand.

Wu Yihuan expected him to slap her with the spit covered hand, however, what happened was totally unexpected.

The young man licked the saliva then thrusts his hands between her legs gripping her most intimate area.

"Haha, Do you like how that feels!?"

She grit her teeth, and while still being held by the two men at her side, Wu Yihuan jumped in place and gave the young man and his smug face a standing dropkick to the chest sending him flying backwards into a shelf holding cast iron trinkets and kitchen wear.

"Do you like how that feels!?"

Wu Yihuan threw the young man's question back at him as the shelf toppled and a pan fell from the top smacking him in the head.

Blood started to flow from the open wound on his head. Although disoriented, he was still able to managed a cohesive sentence as he bellowed out,

"Kill that bitch for me!"

The elder had rushed over to help the young man out while the two that had restrained Wu Yihuan started laying into her with kicks and punches.

The young man pushed the elder aside and walked up Wu Yihuan as his two henchmen followed his angry nod, they picked her up and held the beaten Wu Yihuan there while the young man threw punches at her wildly.

While withstanding the hits the best she could, Wu Yihuan did manage to get a few good kicks in, pushing the man back.

"Break her legs!"

Two cracking sounds soon followed the order, what surprised them all however was the fact that Wu Yihuan never screamed out in pain as one would expect.

She just stared them all with absolute wrath.

Wu Yihuan spat out a mouth filled with blood and saliva equivalent to a small cup of water at the young man then uttered,

"I don't give two shits what big family backs you, whether they are a long generational family, highly influential, or a hidden family."

Wu Yihuan narrowed her eyes at the young man then continued,

"As long as I'm not dead, I'll definitely kill you fuckers!"

With that said, using her one good arm left, Wu Yihuan grabbed the closest person to her pulled them in and gave them a strong head butt to the nose before she thrust her hand at his throat and dug her nails in deep, focusing on the trachea.

Her nails pierced the man's skin deeply giving Wu Yihuan a better grip, almost making her fingers go between the man's trachea and his oesophagi.

While she was squeezing she never let up on the head butting either.

The other goon was trying his hardest to make Wu Yihuan let go of his partner.

The elder suddenly thought that they may have provoked the wrong person. His young master was taken aback at the scenes s blood pissed out the neck of his goon.

The constant head bashing had caused the man to become unconscious and when she sensed that, Wu Yihuan turned her attention to the other three.

"The fuck am I paying you for? . . Go do your fucking job!"

The young man yelled in a panic.

Wu Yihuan grabbed the other goon in a choke hold and as the pair feel to the ground she bit down hard on the man's fleshy cheek.

Soon, Wu Yihuan started feeling weak, her body was going into shock from both the beating and broken bones.

A few moments later she passed out.

By then the police had arrived and detained everyone. But the young man and the elder and his goons didn't stay.

He tossed a bank card at the unconscious Wu Yihuan and told the officers that the card was compensation for what went on and left with his two injured goons and the elder.

The police did nothing to stop them as they entered their vehicles and left the gruesome scene behind.
