Chapter 3: The Ambush, part 4

"Man, you're good at talking for, you know, having the brain of a turret. Makes me want to keep listening to you."

"After I discovered that some turrets were discarded due to them not matching up with the protocols set in place, I wanted to be free from my limiting speech patterns so I could verbally match any turret and save all of the turrets that I was the template for."

"All right then, Athena, I cannot speak for Gordon, but I can ask him to do as you requested. I mean, it's not really dangerous going back there and we're not on a time crunch, so I'm sure Gordon will do it."

Suddenly, the crow swooped in and started attacking Wheatley.

"Ouch, stop pecking. Your children still hatched, right? Maybe they didn't, or else she wouldn't be so angry at me. Make her stop, please!"

As Gordon used the gravity gun to pull the crow away from Wheatley, GlaDOS spoke.

"Do you know why this bird is attacking? Wheatley used this crow's eggs to jam a door-like mechanism."

"How do you know that?" Wheatley said while trying to evade the bird.

"I watched through a surveillance camera without speaking while the crime was being committed. So, you should let her go if you have any humanity in you."

Gordon let go of the bird.

"So much for you to talk about having compassion. Oww." Wheatley said.

"At least I wasn't doing it for fun or revenge."

"Sorry Gordon, I have to move on without you to shake this bird." Wheatley exclaimed as he exited the room going forward.

"Now that he is gone, we can have a more level-headed conversation. I have nothing against you; in fact, I approve of your fight to stop the Combine. However, I do not know what you are here for and why you are teaming up with my former usurper. Therefore, I need to know if I can trust you. To do that, you will first need to place a working turret in the template area so I have a reason to start making turrets again. If you don't, I won't scare off the crow from attacking Wheatley."

Gordon went back and placed the Oracle Turret in the template.
