CHAPTER FOUR

I used my pillow to cover my head, pressing it against my ear, trying to block out the stupid noise. After much trial, I gave up, throwing the pillow to my bed and sitting up annoyed.

"What the hell!" I screamed, infuriated by the darn clamorous sound, going deep down my ear and affecting my very crucial sleep. I rubbed my eyes as I took in my surrounding. Mira and the red haired girl were already up, ready and was even about leaving. I sat up properly and glanced at the little clock, hanging on the wall.

5:48, what the! Just 12 minutes to get ready. I quickly stood up, almost tripping in the process because I dragged my bedsheets down too. I carelessly stepped on it and hurried to the bathroom, not also minding if the girls watched my little drama.

The warm water cascaded down my body reminding of me of life, telling me to live and recall my dad's advise.

After few minutes I rushed out of the bathroom with my towel tied around my body, the weird girls were no where to be seen. I quickly cleaned my body and wore the school uniform which was fortunately, looking good because I neatly folded it in my bag. My dad got it for me before I even came to the school. I wore the uniform fastly and put on my polished shoes. I used the towel to clean my hair, grabbing a brush and glancing up at the clock that looked like it was watching my clumsiness. I'm never this clumsy anyway.

Four minutes to go! I stared at myself in the mirror, brushing my hair as I tossed my towel to my bed. I brushed my long white hair, decided to pin it down and tie it. I wasn't ready for my hair to start flying like a mad woman. I rapidly applied an ordinary, colourless lip balm as I grabbed a small bag I had already prepared before, it contained two small jotters and a pen. Like I said, I'm usually not this clumsy. I always had my things under control.

I ran out of my dorm knowing I had less than three minutes left. From where I stood I saw a lot of students heading to a particular direction. I ran down the stairs then turned left where I saw the students gathered. Some of them were slowly moving and talking. I stopped panting and coughing, after a few seconds I walked to a girl who had dirty blonde and was on her own, walking into the building unknown to me.

"Hey, why are people gathered here?" I asked

The girl stopped walking and looked at me a bit confused, her face turned back to normal knowing I might be a new student. I know I should have introduced myself better and tell her I arrived yesterday but excuse me, there's no time for long story, we always have to cut it short.

"I see you're new." She offered me a smile which I didn't care to return. I knew I couldn't smile without it appearing fake, after having a headache giving morning. Regardless of me not returning the smile, just staring at her blankly, she continued with her smile. "We just resumed so the principal just wants to address us. That's all I guess then we can go back to our normal classes." She shrugged then added. " We're suppose to be having breakfast from now to 7am but he's going to use about thirty minutes of our time then we'll use thirty minutes for breakfast." She said, without stopping. Certainly a talkative, I thought.

"Thanks." I mumbled about going away.

"I'm Deborah." She said.

"Aurora." I said not turning back. I just walked into the building that appeared to be a hall, students were gathered waiting for the so called principal. The hall was very long and wide, half of it would contain the students. I walked further to where the students stood waiting. Some just talked to themselves, laughing. I stayed at the back observing everything.

I saw my two roommate standing and talking to each other. I just sighed, I have to be all alone. A guy came to join and if I'm not mistaking, it's the white haired guy who was playing piano yesterday. I watched them closely, as they chatted and laughed, some boys came to join them too. After a few minutes I averted my gaze away from them, looking around. If I'm not erroneous about this again, I saw the strange guy standing with a group of his friends or people. He was talking to a girl with purple hair and a guy with brown hair. The strange guy had a blonde hair. He talked normally and me calling him strange was kind of absurd because he was talking really fine. If I observed correctly again, most girls had their eyes on the strange boy....... Even the white haired guy.

I noticed as a slim, dirty blonde hair with brown eyes girl walked to them. I wasn't close to them so I couldn't hear anything but from what I could see, she made an attempt to say hello, raising her hands. I saw her mouth moving so she was obviously speaking. They just watched her, soon she turned back to walk away humiliated. Probably, because they didn't answer her then I noticed I wasn't the only watching the scene, some people were observing it too.

I felt a small nudge, I flinched surprised. I was too engrossed that I did not even notice anyone. I turned back and saw Victoria or should I say the smiling Victoria.

"Hey." She greeted

"Hey smiling freak." I mumbled under my breath.

"What?" She asked.

"Um nothing, I meant Victoria." I said too quickly.

"You called me a smiling freak." She said chortling.

"Maybe." I said smiling.

"Here comes the principal." She said, looking forward.

"Mr. Young who ain't young." I muttered.

"What." She said as an uncontrollable laughter escaped her mouth. "You're hilarious." I looked at the front and my eyes met with the white haired guy who way busy staring at me, furrowing his eyebrows. I just turned my attention back to the principal.

"Silence!" He said. "First, thank God you're all back from your holiday season perfectly fine. I hope we are all aware that school resumes appropriately and classes start from today; no picked class must be ditched by any of you here, attend all your class and pay attention, be mentally focused and academically conscious." He earned a few scoff from the students. "I'd also like to welcome the new students who decided to join us. Be of good conduct and don't mess around, jeopardizing your future and education, becoming a jester, dimwit and a moron. It's better you be stupendously ......... "

This principal is of no doubt, a talkative. I kept playing with my clothes and fidgeting my fingers not because I was nervous but because I was hungry. I looked around and noticed the white haired guy was now talking to a girl. He glanced around and caught me looking at me. I quickly looked back at the principal who was already leaving. Finally! I quickly turned back to Victoria who was quietly observing everything.

"Where's the cafeteria."

"I'll lead the way." She said walking, suddenly she stopped then looked at me with questioning eyes. " Did you eat yesterday evening."

"No." I replied shortly. "I got lost."

Victoria released a long, heavy breath.

"Don't worry you'll get used to it." She said as we walked.

We passed different passage, there wasn't a lot of turning or even stairs mounting. We arrived at the cafeteria and was about to go inside but people were rushing inside. Victoria just pushed me aside and decided to wait.

"I believe your stomach can wait." She said offering me her sweet smile. I just nodded, sighing. When the crowd dispersed, we were about to go inside but somebody stopped us.

"Hey!" We both looked back and I saw the last person, well not really the last person though, I thought I will talk to. He stood there smiling at us or me precisely.
