I Heard... What?

Felicia's point of view:

"Do you see that?"

The girl behind me spoke, making me startled. Isaac chuckled at me before softly rubbed my back.

I munched on my pizza as I stared at Isaac. He's the best boyfriend I've ever had, and I don't want to be separated from him.

"Isn't that Mr Jacobsen?"

"Is he with Scarlett from the Human resources department?"

I gasped as I heard the familiar name and quickly turned to the direction they pointed to. What I saw in front of me made my mouth agape and my eyes widened. The pizza fell from my mouth, back to the plate.

Scarlett was eating with Mr Jacobsen with intertwined hands on the table and they ate the same kind of food, spaghetti carbonara.

"Babe, do you see that? Carly's with Mr Jacobsen," I said with mixed emotions and tapped Isaac's shoulder.

"What is it?" He asked with frowns on his face and turned to the corner of the cafe. "Carly? Mr Jacobsen? Baby, what's this all about?"

"I don't know." I shrugged. I cleared my throat and took a big bite of the pizza and turned to Isaac. He looked troubled by the sight, I wonder why.

"I believe Ronald would gone furious if he saw this," he mumbled lowly, more like a whisper but I could quiet catch it.

"Why? Does he likes Carly or something?"

"Baby, I don't want to call you dumb but you really are. How can you not see the love Ronald has for Carly?"

He sighed, sounding so done with me.

"Well, I don't know. I'm just teasing Carly and Ronald about them going out. I never thought that he actually likes Carly." I pouted. My boyfriend called me dumb.

He shook his head and started eating again. I glanced to Scarlett's direction and can't help but smile. At least, my friend already found the one she's been looking for.

I just need to ask her when and how did she ended up dating Mr Jacobsen.

~.~.~.~

Scarlett's point of view:

"Carly!"

I jolt up by the sudden tap on my shoulder with the loud voice behind me. I groaned when I heard Felicia's laugh.

"You scared me!" I shook my head and looked up to her. "You want to ask me something, right?"

"Yep," she said, popping the 'p' as she pulled the empty seat from the table next to me and sat closely to me. "I saw you with Mr Jacobsen earlier and I believe, you owe an explanation from me."

I tapped my forehead, about to forget about the incident during lunch.

"Okay, I, Scarlett," I put my hand on my chest and she lifted her brows, waiting for my next words. "And Mr Jacobsen are in a relationship."

"What?!"

"Shh!" I covered her mouth and grinned apologetically as our colleagues turned to our direction from Felicia's exclaims. "You don't have to overreact about it, dude."

She swatted my hand from her mouth as she chuckled.

"I knew about that. I just want to know how'd you ended up being in a relationship with him and... When did it happened?"

"Oh, it happened at this morning. I asked my best friend on what should I do and he suggested that I need to try and go out with Mr Jacobsen."

"Wow, I respect your friend, Carly! He surely knew what's best for you."

"I mean, yeah, why not? We've been friends since kindergarten."

She chuckled at that.

"Okay, put that matter aside. How's dating with Mr Jacobsen feels like?"

"Embarrassing?" I shrugged.

She lifted her brows at that.

"You're embarrassed about dating him? Man, if I were you, I won't feel that way," she shook her head.

"No, I don't mean that." I sighed. "I mean, he looks so cold and like, heartless from the outside so I don't really expect too much from him but he's so different from his appearance!"

"That's what people say, don't judge a book by it's cover," she smiled and tapped my shoulder. "I'm happy for you."

"Yeah, thanks, Felice," I smiled, calling the nickname I used for her.

"Ah, I nearly forget about this!" She tapped her forehead and sighed loudly—something that rarely happened.

"Why?"

"Ronald likes you."

I chocked at that. I didn't mean to be funny but I can't believe the sudden claim from her.

I heard... What? Is it a joke?

"What? It's not suppose to be a joke, Felice. I have a boyfriend now," I furrowed. I knew her, she loves to tease me and Ronald about us going out for a date or we date each other but that's all a joke.

"No, I'm dead serious right now."

I studied her expression and indeed, there's no teasing smile nor playful smirk plastered on her face. It's just a blank expression.

"I know you won't believe in me, like that was nearly impossible, right?" I nodded. "But that's what Isaac told me. I nearly chocked on my pizza, but luckily I didn't or I would've waste a good food."

I chuckled. She inserted some sort of joke, a lame kind of joke but I don't mind. That's how she is, just to lightened up the atmosphere between us.

"I don't know how to respond with this," I sighed. "But, well, I'll ask him tomorrow."

"Yeah, you better do. I mean, you should clarify whatever question you had in your mind."

"Yeah, that would do."

She smiled and went back to her seat. I sighed and started doing my work. I glanced at my wristwatch and it was now 4:30 PM. It took a few minutes for me and Felicia to finish talking. I checked my report, make sure that there's no error present or Mr Judd won't be satisfied with my work.

Satisfied with my work, I smiled and sent the file to Bridgette, Mr Judd's secretary as he went out, again.

I packed my things and ready to leave as it's already 5 PM, time to go home. Most of my colleagues already went home and left with few people in this floor–me, Felicia, Isaac, Lucas and Mark.

"Bye, guys. I'll be going now," I smiled and waved to them. They smiled and continued packing their stuffs.

"Red," I stopped at my track as I heard the husky and deep voice. I turned around and smiled as I watched Brooklyn walked intimidatingly to me.

"Hi," I raised my hand and waved a little to him. He chuckled and pulled me into a hug.

I felt my body stiffened by his sudden actions.

"Drive carefully," he rubbed my back as he put his head on the crook of my neck.

"Thank you," I smiled and pulled away from the hug. "You, too."

"See you tomorrow, Red," he smiled sweetly and pecked my forehead.

I nodded and drove home. Slightly waving at him before he disappeared from my sight. After a few minutes of driving, I parked my bike on the garage at my house and quickly went inside.

Another day went by smoothly...
