“Ma,” Aiden approached his mother, he glanced at Amara’s red cheek and his heart twitched painfully. He stood next to her.
“What are you doing here?” Aiden asked his mother.
“What am I doing here?” Erin asked in disbelief, “What is she doing here?” she raised her finger in Amara’s direction.
“Brother Aiden, you know ma hates her. Why did you marry her?” Leah asked innocently.
“Stay out of this Leah,” Aiden stared coldly at her.
Leah shrunk back but held her ground. “I’m just asking. Besides didn’t she cheat on you? Why would you want to marry a slu-”.
“Leah,” Aiden warned her, daring her to continue. Leah gulped her words and stayed quiet. She directed her hate filled eyes at Amara who still hadn’t said a word.
“Why are you scolding her? She is speaking the truth.” Erin Mcalvey scoffed, her eyes spitting fire.
“Ma, let’s go talk in my office.” Aiden tried holding his mother’s hand.
