First day at school- Part 1

Holiday was over and I was getting prepared for school. I brushed my hair and made a french braid on it. I looked at the mirror and adjusted my collar. As usual, I was putting on a white shirt with a white trouser and decided to put on a pink sneakers so as not to be on all white. I put on my wrist watch and wore my cross chain. I went to the sitting room and found my mom reading a novella. Then she looked up to me and smiled.

"Ready?" Edna asked

"Yes" I replied her then I breathed out. She came closer to me and patted my hair gently

"Are you nervous?" She asked

"No mom" I replied her, feeling relieved

"Be a good girl out there and make sure you stay out of trouble. So are you ready?" She asked again

"Sure" I replied

We entered a taxi and stopped at Frazer college. I got down and bid my mom goodbye

"Don't miss lunch" I heard my mom shout through the window as she drove off.

I stood outside for some seconds and took my time to view the exterior part of the school building, starting from the gate which stood mute while bearing the curse placed on it like the cold of the rain, the heat of the scorching sun and the dryness of the harmattan. Indeed, if it had mouth, it would have made a lot of complaints. I walked sluggishly to the gate and breathed out my nervousness before placing my hand to push the gate open but suddenly, the gate opened automatically which made me lost my balance then I suddenly felt a tight grip around my body. the person had saved me from tripping. I looked up at who it was. ready to thank who saved me but when i brought my face up to meet his, I nearly choked.

Different things were running in my head like, ' how can my first encounter in this school be a male?', 'why is he staring at me?', 'why is he still holding me?', ' Oh no, I feel like screaming right now aaaaarrrrggghh'.
