Anne and I walked around in our costumes. There was no point in changing since we would look like punks to others. That and if Jack and Lily were really still alive, they wouldn't recognize us in these outfits. It was our mission to stop whoever the masterminds were who wanted the death of superheros.
'Ooooo, Zen, let's have sex!'
My face turned bright red, 'What?! W-w-what do you m-m-mean we should have-'
'I'm just joking, I wanted to toy with you,' she smirked.
I put away my phone that I was using as our map, 'You devious angel.'
'It's my charm.'
With a taxi pulling up, the both of us hopped in.
'Where to?'
'I have a question, sir,' my glare became cold.
'Yes, sir?'
'Why do you have bloodlust coming off of you?'
Anne had her hand on the door.
'Well you see,' he pulled out a detonator, 'THEY TOLD ME YOU WERE COMING,' looming back at us, he had blood leaking out his eyes, as he wore a crazed face, 'BUH BOOM!'
'Name if the game is Black Jack,' the dealer dealt the two cards each to both players, 'Yet with a twist in wishes of the challenger.'
The challenger lowered his glasses, 'Sure you don't wanna back out?'
The challenged just smiled, 'Eh, I don't care...either way,' he pushed up his hair to show his covered eye, 'You'll loose!!'
Looking at my hand, it was splodged with blood. The taxi Anne and I were in, was now a fiery wreck, as well as buildings near us. My vision was slight blurred, but u could make out I was layed on the road. Turning my head I, could see Anne standing her ground with her weapon of choice out: that weapon she preferred was her staff.
'Bastards,' she cursed under her breath as someone emerged from the rising smoke of the building engulfed in flames.
Showing themself, it was a young girl who's eyes were widely opened.
'A-a-,' I coughed out some blood.
'Oh? You survived? Lousy bomber,' the girl made two bombs fabricate out of thin air onto her palms, 'Names Jessica, guess I'll have to kill you myself!'
A little girl, whi looked no older than 10, wished for death and destruction amongst others: this worlds the absolute worst!
'Step aside,' a man from behind me emerged from the chaos and destruction, 'This brats been loose for far-' he pulled out a deck of cards from his leather jacket, '-to-' he began to shuffle them up as his bald head rest exposed under the sun, '-long,' he looked at his deck, 'Give me a king,' pulling out a king, time began to rewind.

With a taxi pulling up, I stopped Anne with my arm. Scanning my environment, everything seemed like it gave me a sense of déjà vu. Walking up to the driver side of the car, a man I hadn't noticed punched his hand through the window, grabbed the driver by his collar, slammed him against the concrete, knocking him out.
'Zen, why didn't we stop him!'
'It's because he saved lives just now,' I didn't know what I was saying, yet at the same time I knew what I was saying.
'You remember? Remarkable,' the guy approached us, 'Names The Gambler, a hero like you two.'
'I like the thought of us being heros,' I glanced at Anne and back, 'But we're just vengeful spirits at this point.'
'Elaborate,'
Anne pushed my arm aside, 'As of now, we two and one youth are the only heros left in New Yorks sector.'
The man placed his deck of cards up his sleeve, 'That's....that's a damn shame.'
'We didn't get the chance to receive hero names either,' I shook the mans extended hand, 'So call me the Dark Champion and her the Light Champion.'
Sweat raced down his face. He was nervous. 'You mean, the devil and angel champion?'
'Don't worry,' I gave a dastardly laugh, 'We're friendly to innocent.'
He sighed, 'Thank goodness,' his eyes wandered away before returning, 'But wait then, who killed the other heros?'
'Just to let you know, this happened months ago, but we've tracked the masterminds to here....somewhere.'
'Then here's how I see it,' he looked off again, 'Help me take in Jessica and you two will get help from Las Vegas's finest.
'That lousy, good for nothing, no good bomber! He had one job,' Jessica hopped down from a rooftop, 'Guess I'll just have to do it myself,' so young, yet filled with corruption, 'BWHAHAHA,' bombs formed on her palms, fuses lit, big enough to take out a department store.
Anne and I weren't in New York anymore, we had to reframe to spilling blood: no matter who that individual may have been.
'Here she comes,' Jessica came sprinting at us.
Swiftly, Anne and I increased our speed to get above her, then we both made iron gloves encase our hands before grabbing her and restraining her movement.
'Now!'
'Before she gets free,' Anne was struggling to hold Jessica like I.
Letting his deck fall out his sleeve and into his hand, The Gambler shuffled his cards, 'Render my opponent unconscious, give me a Ten of Spades,' as said, he pulled out a Ten of Spades.
Going limp, Jessica was unconscious.
'What amazing strength,' I stared in great amazement.
'It looks strong, but the repercussions are....deadly,' his hands were shaking now.
