The next day, Saturday, was family day in Lane house. Jin, his mother and father would often spend Saturdays together with him doing family activities as they both were busy during the weekdays so much so that they would come home late, eat and immediately go to bed. This time they went out to eat at a nearby burger joint.
"So, how's school? How're the other boys?" His father asked after three, hot double cheese hamburgers had arrived.
"How's Ana and your grades?" His mother asked as she passed her husband the ketchup, piling onto the amount of questions Jin would have to answer.
"They're all doing well, the guys are having too much fun now that they all have girlfriends..." Jin said with a slight bitterness in his voice.
"That's good to hear!" His father exclaimed and laughed as he bit into his burger.
He looked to his wife and immediately his grin disappeared as he saw her staring daggers at him with a cold, terrifying expression.
"Ana is doing great too, except she seemed very shaken up and worried last I saw her, I should ask about that… grades are fine too Mom." Jin said.
His mom turned her attention towards Jin, sighing and smiling at the man she had fallen in love with who reverted back to his large grin. "Same old Jin, grades are just a side note when someone is in trouble huh?" She said with a large smile as she bit into hers.
"How's the production?" Jin asked.
"It's coming… along..." His father seemed to loosen a bit as a small white ghost escaped his mouth.
"DAD! There's a ghost! A GHOST CAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!!" Jin said loudly.
"They've been overworking us for weeks… those bastards, I'll grind their bones to ash as soon as this game launches!" She said with a demonic expression as some of the fries felt her fury.
Jin smiled, no matter what happens these two always remained true to themselves. After experiencing that roller coaster this Friday, seeing this was kinda relieving. But there was something Jin had never understood.
"Mom… Dad… You guys always ask me about school and my friends and grades but never about… like… you know... a romantic interest..." Jin said awkwardly, finishing the last couple words.
"Worried are we?" His father said with a gentle smile.
"There's a very good reason for that son..." His mother touched Jin's father's hand as they played a bit before interlocking.
"You see Jin..."
