After nearly three days of torrential downpour the rain still showed no signs of stopping. The next day the lightning had come back it seemed like today would be the worst storm out of all the days.
Jin made his way down the stairs, still deaf to George, who had come to accept what was happening. He walked past Ana who stared at him with a look of pain and sadness before turning her attention towards Mohammad and Nate who shrugged in defeat. He slowly made his way towards the corner where Grey looked unusually gloom.
"What's the matter?" Jin asked as he slumped on the wall next to him.
"Jin, if there were two people that liked you what would you do?" Grey asked grimly.
Jin took a deep breath and exhaled making it seem like he was pondering the questions while in reality it was a breath of relief.
"What kind of unrealistic situation are we talking about here?" Jin smiled.
"Jin..." Grey looked worried.
Jin turned to him. "I would spend more time with the one that I like." He responded.
Grey turned to face him. "But what about the other person, they'll get hurt won't they?" Grey asked sincerely.
"They will, but you can't please both of them can you?" Jin said, "And this may seem a bit rude and cold but you're not responsible for how they feel, you can't make everyone happy, except for yourself and the few people around you."
"I like Chandler, and she likes me, and Isabel likes me, but I've already told Isabel to meet me after school today..." Grey said quietly.
Jin looked away from Grey. "If Isabel weren't in the picture would you have asked Chandler out today after school?" Jin asked.
Grey followed Jin's gaze, realizing it was on Chandler. "Probably… but it would be difficult… she has a competition in the gym today at 5:30." Grey replied.
"School ends at 4:30, you have no practice today, make sure you go straight to the gym after school," Jin said as he pushed himself off the wall, "I'll handle Isabel."
Grey's head snapped towards Jin. "Really? You would do that?" His face lit up.
"Yeah… so don't worry about her and go ask Chandler out!" Jin said with a smile, but it seemed so sad to Grey.
The rain got harder as Jin left for his class. Grey stared at him for a little bit wondering if he should ask but decided against it and left for his own class.
