(Now then, what the hell do I do now? I told Grey I'd take care of Isabel but it's pouring outside. What should I do in the situation? How do I even tell someone that the person they like likes someone else… ) His heart ached at the last thought. A faint and sad smile appeared on his face as an idea started to form in his head.
BEEEEEEP!!! The dismissal bell rang signaling the start of his last minute mission. Jin quickly left class and bolted for the roof. (I have to wrap this up quickly so I can watch Grey, even though it may hurt, I took up this challenge and her request, the least I can do is watch it play out till the end.) Jin thought to himself as he clenched his t-shirt tightly while running through the halls.
After a few minutes of slipping through the ocean of students trying to leave school he made it to the door on the top floor of the stairwell in the science wing and standing there, staring out from the small window it had was Isabel.
She had her brown hair tied behind her head in a ponytail and was wearing a large grey t-shirt on top of black athletic shorts. On her right hand she was wearing two silver rings, one on her index finger and the other on her pinky. She had left her backpack behind and was standing eagerly on her tip-toes, trying to see through the window if Grey was standing outside in the rain.
She turned around quickly when she heard the panting, hoping Grey had finally come. When she saw Jin hunched over behind her instead of Grey, her eyes widened as she took a startled step backwards and clenched her left hand with her right in front of her chest.
"Jin… Lane? Where's Gregory?" She asked in surprise.
(How do I break it to her in a way that won't hurt her?) Jin thought to himself as he clenched his teeth and stared at the ground. He stayed in a frozen, hunched over position with his hands on his knees as he thought.
(That's too naive… there's no way to tell her this without her not getting hurt… but… ) An idea popped into his head. He quickly turned around and pulled out a piece of paper and a marker from his bag, and quickly scribbled something on it and signed it.
He looked up at Isabel and got to his feet. "Grey's not coming!" Jin said sternly.
"Huh? Why not...? He said that he had something to tell me today after school and that it was something very important!" she said worriedly and anxiously.
"He's not here because he went to ask out Chandler Morrison!" Jin said coldly.
Isabel's eyes widened and her legs began to tremble. Her body soon followed as she crumbled to the ground. Tears started forming in her eyes as she struggled to process and believe the words that had come out of Jin's mouth.
Jin stared at her for a little bit letting her experience these feelings, the piece of paper clenched in his right hand as he made a tight fist with his left.
"As for the important thing he had to tell you… I'm here to do that in his place!" Jin said, his eyes glowed with a ferocious resolve.
"Listen here Isabel!" Jin shouted, his voice echoed through the stairwell.
"No one is born to be alone, everyone has someone out there for them, even if the person you like doesn't like you back, even if they don't know you, even if they like someone else, everyone is born with a partner and some just need a little help finding them!!" He yelled.
He walked forwards and slammed the piece of paper on the ground in front of her. "This is a 'I Heart you' paper!" He roared.
"Once you've found someone you like let me know and I'll make sure they fall for you, 100% guaranteed!!" he shouted.
His voice echoed throughout the stairwell, the door downstairs could be heard creaking multiple times as several people had tried to enter but left due to the loud voice.
"So take this slowly, feel your feelings, and when you're ready to move on, I'll be waiting..." Jin said softly and gently.
He touched her shoulder before standing up, bringing her back to reality. Her face became even more scrunched as she began to bawl. Jin clenched his teeth, he knew that she had to figure out the rest. He started walking away as she continued to sob and empty her heart out. He bent over and grabbed his backpack and soon he had made it all the way down the stairs, and checked his phone, 5:15 pm, it showed in bright white letters. He ran through the door, Isabel's cries were still audible on the other side and became quieter as he put distance between himself and the stairwell.
He sprinted through the empty school halls, thanking the fact it was a Friday. He reached the library and started making his way up the stairs to the commons. He froze when he looked up and saw Ana with her arms crossed, staring down at him.
