TRAINING PART 19: Vow.

The last day! Here it was, the day we would be saying goodbye to the shelter. Our last day in this place, and I actually felt like I was going to miss it.

We woke up, bath and breakfast as usual. No one person in this place could speak during breakfast, all so preoccupied by whether they’d be alive or not after that day. And if normal civilians were so worried about their lives being in danger, just imagine what the fear was like for us: innocent youngsters who had been dragged into fighting a war that they were not even meant to survive in the first place.

We all sat together for breakfast, along with our trainers, and the boss, who finally decided to have a meal with us. This might be our last meal together, so he must’ve thought: “why not?” We sat together, yet no one uttered a single word. Our eyes stuck on our plates, we were all thinking.
