Dainty's Point of View

After that heartwarming moment with Dr. Matteo, I am now here at the Montero Company because I remembered that I still have work to do!

"Mrs. Montero, Mr. Kendrix is looking for you and he wants you in the conference room."

"Huh?" I stared at Alex. Did she just call me Mrs. Montero?!

"Please go to conference room in 5 minutes." After Alex said that, she left immediately. She looks like she's in a hurry.

After Alex left, I immediately left the office and ran to the lobby.

"I'm going home, I don't feel good here! I can't be a Montero. I will be really going home!" I whispered to myself as I got down to the lobby.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Montero." Almost all of the employees are greeting me there.

"Oh, this is really not good." I whispered again.

But because I'm in a hurry, I bumped into someone and it was Xariya! So I was even more confused. What is she doing here?

"Dainty! Is that you? Oh my gosh! We haven't seen each other for a long time. It's actually sad that you are no longer the one handling my restaurant." She said again.

Many people are looking at us. How can I get out of this?

"Uh...you know, uh..." I'm sweating here even if it's cold.

She frowned. "Huh? Are you okay?"

I was about to answer but I heard Montero's annoying voice.

"Dainty! Where have you been and where are you going again? We have a conference meeting with the board members." Montero said as he approached us.

I slowly turned my attention to him. I want to slap him big time.

"Ken! I haven't seen you for a long time too!" Xariya shouted again so the employees looked at us even more. While Montero was surprised by Xariya's presence.

"Oh! It's you again." That's what he just said. This one is really weak.

"Yeah, how are you?"

"We're doing great. How about you? I heard your dad was in the hospital last time?" Montero again. Why does he know that? And why don't I know that? I guess they are closer.

"Uh yes, that was months ago but thank you for your help." Xariya replied and smiled.

Why are these two like this?

"I'm sorry Xariya, I didn't visit. I didn't know." I answered and looked at Montero. This Montero is crazy, he didn't even tell me.

"It's okay. I know you were going through something during those times." Xariya smiled again.

"By the way, what are you doing here?" I asked with a teaseful voice.

"Uhm, I'm really passing by here to get some fresh air. I'm going home too. By the way, Nate's birthday is tomorrow. Will you come?"

"I'll be there." Montero answered immediately.

"Me too." I answered too.

"No cousin, our company needs a CEO." Montero said and look at me. He's obviously teasing me!

Xariya's eyes widened and she covered her mouth. "You're a CEO, Dainty?" She asked in shock.

"Yes, since she is my cousin's wife." Montero replied again.

"HEY! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME IMMEDIATELY?! OH! THAT'S WHY YOU TWO LIVED IN THE SAME HOUSE! WAHHH! WHY ARE YOU TWO SO PRIVATE? WHERE IS THE RING?! THE RING SHOULD BE MADE FROM DIAMOND AND GOLD!" Xariya shouted one after another.

"Where is your ring Dainty? Why can't I see it?" Xariya asked holding my two hands.

"Huh? I mean, I hid it first, it might disappear. It's very important to me. You know it came from RD..." Gosh! This is so hard!

"It's a pity I didn't see it. Do you know when I was still a child, I really dreamed of marrying a CEO." Xariya added.

When Xariya said that, I looked at Montero who was holding his neck.

"CEO? How about the owner?" I asked Xariya while still looking at Montero.

"Also, when the ring comes from the owner, should it be made from diamond and gold or should it be made of parts of the moon?" I asked again and Montero can't move.

Xariya could not answer because Alex arrived and was looking for us and reminded us about the meeting.

As we walked back, Montero spoke.

"Tomorrow morning you come with me, we will buy a ring."

"What ring?" I asked.

"The CEO's ring, Dainty." He answered seriously.

"Oh! I thought we'll buy the owner's ring."

"Shut the hell up, Dainty."

"Fine! I'll shut up."

The meeting ended and I can't speak because Montero introduced me to everyone.

Xariya's Point of View

"Thanks for the food." Ken said so I smiled at him. We are outside now and he's leaving. Nate is with us too.

"I didn't knew your were invited but thanks for coming." Nate said so I pinched him. Ken just laughed.

"Sorry! He's just really that." I apologized to Ken while still pinching Nate.

"No problem, happy birthday again, Nate." That's the last thing Ken said before leaving.

After he left, I went inside our house to eat and leave Nate with his visitors. They told him to drink and because Nate loves that so he's drinking with them now.

I'm pouting now as I watched Nate's guests and him who were already drunk. Nate is still drinking with them and they're shouting while talking, some are even singing and I am just looking at them as well as the bottles scattered on the floor. There's a lot and it's sad to think that I will be the one cleaning them later.

"Hey, why are you alone here?" Suddenly, Pau sat down next to me and gave me coke. I accepted it because I feel thirsty while watching Nate drink.

"Secret." I answered and she hit me, Vincent, his suitor also sat in front of us, and also drank coke. I think we have a coke party here.

"Are you sad because Mr. Kendrix has left?" Suddenly I choked while drinking because of Vincent's question!

I did not expect that question and why would he ask that?

"I'm not sad, Vincent. And I like someone else." I said and they look at me.

What's the problem of these two?

"You like someone? Who? Do I know him?!" Pau shouted so I rubbed my forehead, I thought they would be quiet if I say that but no, they become more noisy!

Vincent is also waiting for me to answer. It turns out that this one is also gossipy. Pauline and him are really a match.

"A---." I also laughed because I also did not know who I would answer because I was just joking with them both. They are just a fool.

"Who? A?! Adrian?!"

"What---" I couldn't continue what I was about to say when Adrian suddenly appeared in front of us.

"Why did I heard my name?" He asked rudely and sat on the floor next to me.

"Nothing, Pauline is just acting like an addict..." And I even laughed when I said that.

"I'm not an addict!" She shouted at me and looked at Adrian and pointed me, uh-oh.

"ADRIAN, XARIYA LIKES YOU! PROMISE! SHE TOLD US!" She shouted so loudly.

"Hey! Pau, you silly! I don't like him!" I also shouted but she didn't seem to hear me because she was whispering something to Adrian.

Adrian nodded while laughing while Vincent looked at me so I raised an eyebrow.

"You don't like Mr. Kendrix?" He asked. What the hell?

"How many more men will be involved here? Oh my gosh, you guys!" I said but he just shook his head.

"I shouldn't have give him that. Well, Adrian and you looks nice together." He just said and scratched his neck.

"I said don't like Adrian." Annoyed, I said and looked again at Pauline whispering to Adrian.

"Don't believe in her Adrian, those are not true." I said seriously and Pau hit me again.

"Stop denying it, Xari! It's so obvious now!" Pauline screamed so I got up. I'll just sleep instead of listening to them.

The next day I woke up early to clean up the mess last night, I even found Vincent and Adrian in the living room who are still sleeping. They slept here last night because Nate said that these two are his friends. Well, Adrian is really is his friend, Vincent is the new one.

I just quietly passed by them and started cleaning, while cleaning, I suddenly thought about what happened last night.

What could have happened after I left them? Did Pauline said many nonsense again? I don't even know where she suddenly said that I like Adrian.

And what is Adrian thinking now? He might feel awkward and not talk to me anymore because of the lies Pauline is telling him. We've been friends for years now and thinking about us not talking to each other is just so weird.

"Good morning, cousin."

"Adrian!"

My eyes widened because I suddenly shouted Adrian's name. What the hell, Xariya?! You can't get out of this now!

"So the rumor last night was true? That you like Adrian?" Nate teased me and helped me clean up.

"That's not true, you're just really stupid." I said and he laughed out loud.

"Hey, Xari! You're too harsh. What's the problem if you like Adrian, huh? It is what you feel and I like Adrian for you because I know that he's a good man." And he even tapped me on the shoulder.

Why are there so many silly people in the world?

"I really don't like him! You take care of that, I am out of here!" I said and walked out once again.

Pauline's to blame for all this!
