CHAPTER FOURTEEN: Maureen the projector, HaliMau

“And what am I doing here?” said the woman with Jenny.

I don’t know her name but I think Jenny knows her and also, she’s from the classroom beside us. Because of my favor, Jenny has to bring this woman here to my dorm.

“Use your taika to generate the scene inside my mind.” Said Jenny directly. The woman she brought her just laughed at her.

This one had an attitude and I want to grab this woman’s hair.

“Why would I? Are you infected with Lancaster? You know, you have the same attitude now.” That woman said and then she smirks at us.

“Just generate it.”

“Are you crazy, Jenny? Why are you so bent down to be in her good side?” She said while pointing her index finger at me.

I crossed my arms and said, “Be careful, you might lose your index finger by pointing it to me.” and I smirk at her and she backed away, “Jenny?” I called.

“Yes?”

“If she doesn’t want to then let her be. I don’t want to waste my time on someone who doesn’t want to help. I don’t have enough time to waste.” I said and got up from where I was seated then go to the window and looked at the scenery outside, “Don’t force anyone who doesn’t want to help.” I added without any emotion.

I heard her sigh so I smiled. I know I won this game. This woman will give up because I know that she wanted to befriend me, well, I got this feeling. I know that she wants to for a long time. She wants me to beg her to generate the scene? Nah, no thanks. I won’t beg anyone; I won’t bow down to anyone. Who does she think she is for me to beg her? Is she my mother? My father? My sister or my brother? Of course, not. I won’t beg for her. She would be the one who will lose to me.

“Okay, fine. In one condition,” She said and I turned around and looked at her, and then she gave me a creepy smile. The smile that I once saw on Jenny’s lips. “In will be your friend.” She said and Jenny laughs so hard.

I wanted to throw them out of this room by kicking their asses but I still need them so I restrained myself. I have to be more patient with this kind of person.

“Jenny, throw that woman into the abyss, right now,” I said immediately.

“Sure thing, Abia,” Jenny said while laughing.

I hope you choke with your saliva.

What’s this girl's name again? Wait, she still didn’t mention her name yet. Why do I care for her name? whatever, why should I remember her name?

“Wait! I’m just kidding.” The woman that Jenny brought here said while trembling a little.

“Don’t joke like that, Maureen,” Jenny said. So her name is Maurene.

“HaliMau, go and generate what’s her mind,” I said and sat down properly.

“What? Monster?” she couldn’t believe what I said.

“H-A-L-I-M-A-U.” I spelled and looked at her bored. “As in monster.”

Jenny laughs softly and then HaliMau just sighed and then said, “Whatever.”

“Just do what I say. First, you have to generate what scene on Jenny’s head, and then next is mine.” I said like a boss.

“Tsk, okay fine. As you wish, Her Majesty.” She said.

I want to pull her hair and kick her ass out of my dorm but I just can’t do it. Jenny sat in front of me and then Halimau held Jenny’s hand and they closed their eyes. In less than a second, there was a three holographic dimension in front of me.

“How come that Lancaster doesn’t want to teach us.” Said the one whom I hated for no reason. I guess her name is Maejin.

“I’m tired of pestering her all day. What does she want to use for her to teach us?” said their healer, I guess her name is Heal.

Am I the one at fault here? I did tell them that I won’t teach them many times, other than that I don’t want to, they don’t know their flaws. They’re too conceited with their own. I don’t want to teach them and then when they got stronger their heads will flow up to the sky.

“You’re an expert in pestering someone, Heal. How come you became tired of it?”

“Shut up, Bin!”

They all looked at Hyokin who is now running in the oval.

“What did he drink to get hype as this? I mean, he runs too much.” Maejin said and the two people with her just shrugged their shoulders.

“Maybe he ate something bad. We all know how much he hates running, right? Heal said and Maejin and Albin agreed.

“Tsk, I really want to be strong but that Lancaster doesn’t want to teach us.”

I clenched my fist in annoyance. What the hell Albin? That isn’t my fault that you can’t get stronger without my help! How can I help them when they can’t even help themselves? I am not the reason why they’re weak after all. “If we can’t get stronger now, how can we save them?” He added.

“Maybe there’s any other way, right? Heal said worriedly.

“Yeah, and the only way is to be on their side. Only when we do that, only when we betray our race. But by doing that, we still can’t be sure that they will release them even if we joined them.” I notice Maejin’s fist clenched after she said those words.

My two eyes narrowed and then my brows furrowed for what I watched. I am not an expert in remembering someone’s name. Throughout my life on Earth, I quickly forgot the name of a person who had no meaning in my life. I only remember the names of my mom, my dad, brother, sister, and the elders. So, for now, I am confused about how I remember the names of Jenny, Maurene, Albin, Heal, and Maejin. Hyokin is no longer a stranger to me, he’s my childhood friend.

“Oh, what are you guys doing here?” Hyokin asked her co-members in class S while he was resting.

“We’re just wondering why you ran too much, to think that it started early this morning.” There was a mixed concern in Maejin’s voice.

“I kind of feel like I need to run.” Hyokin lied and then she lay down and started to do the sit-up. “I need to regain stamina so that I can control my taika more. I have to do this.” He added.

I patted my forehead because of what he said. It was as if he had already said his reason why he’s doing the run. Also, as if he wanted them to join him in his training. I think I already knew what will happen next.

“Can we join?” Albin asked.

I saw the shock reaction in Hyokin face at the same time he’s troubled because I know that he remembered what I said to him. What are you going to say now, Hyokin? Are you going to reveal what we talked about?

“Ah ah, yeah, sure?”

“Why don’t you seem so sure? Are you hiding something from us?” Heal asked and raised her eyebrow.

I think Heal and Maejin just exchanged an attitude.

“No. All right. Start running in the novel. One hundred laps if you can’t do it, don’t join me here.” Hyokin said without any emotion and sat up.

I saw the reaction of Albin, Heal, and Maejin and they were surprised by how Hyokin acted in them. Their doubt had vanished when Hyokin immediately smiled at them before he left. Okay? What do they have? They looked like they know each other. When Hyokin was away from them those three left and came back with their PE uniforms. Seriously? Are they really going to do that? And they did start running.

The three-dimension hologram had disappeared in front of me, meaning, it’s already done.

I held my forehead and then sigh.

“Why don’t you want to teach them?” Halimau asked me and then I lay down on my bed again and stared at the ceiling.

“Because they are too weak and they can’t even defend themselves. Also, I am not the reason why they’re not strong and I am not the reason for them to get strong. They can be strong on their own.” I said and then closed my eyes.

“Shouldn’t you at least teach them? Also, what are you saying that they can’t defend themselves? No one can beat them here at the academy. And what’s the meaning of your words?” She asked continuously and I sat up and looked at her,

“Maureen…”

“Jenny, stop. I think she’s underestimating us too much. I just have no intention of teaching people who have no intention helping themselves getting stronger and just full of words.”

“Underestimated?” I said and then I laughed, “I did not underestimate you. I just told you the truth and the truth is they’re weak that can’t even protect themselves. “Tell me, Maurene,” I said and made her feel my aura the reason why she backed away, “Have you been with them in the fight outside?”

And then it ended without her answering my question. Jenny took her out of my room. Tsk, what’s the problem with that woman? If you can speak at least answer my question. I’m quite interested in that woman since she had a strong aura inside her.

“Jenny.”

“Yes, Abia?”

“Who’s that woman?”

“Did she catch your attention?” she asked with a smile and I just looked at her bored and she just pouts at me.

“She’s Maurene Mabe Morrisha.”

“Her mom doesn’t like M?”

“That is why the others called her triple M.”

“And?”

“She is the sister of Albin Valen Morrisha the top student in this academy. A member of class S holds number one in the ranking. Maureen has also had a chance to become part of the next class S student.” She explained to me and then I nodded my head.

“She’s not strong enough to be one of the class S.,” I said and she just looked at me, and then she smiled.

“You know what, Abia?” I looked at her and she sat in front of me. “For you, sure, she’s not strong enough. But for us? She is.” She said and then handed me a paper. “What are your bases of being strong? How do you tell if a Tarkanian is strong enough to be in class S or not?” she asked curiously.

I read the paper she gave me. It’s just a list of the class S’ laps. I turned my gaze back to Jenny and said, “You can call them class S if they can meet the level or surpass the level of the previous generation. Or maybe, they can call themselves class S if they already know their flaws and accept them. Their level for me right now is only for class A-plus.” I said and she just watched me.

“Well, I can’t blame you. The previous generation of class S is too strong.” She agreed.

“They must meet the standard or surpass it.”

“Who are you referring to?” She asked me.

“The standard that my sister built.”

“You kidding me, right?” She asked me like I am a crazy one.

I looked at him seriously and she sighed. Is that it? maybe she’s nothing more to say? Maybe. “I guess, not?” she added and then looked at me seriously, “If you want them to meet or exceed the standard which Lady Acacia built, why don’t you teach them?”

“Because I don’t want to be close to them.”

“Teaching them doesn’t mean you have to get close to them or to be friends with them.” I look at her and she continued. “You just don’t want them to get hurt, right?” I was stunned by what she said and then she laughed at me.

I looked at her without emotion, “Go back to your dorm.”

“Okay.”

“You know what? She had a point.” She told me and then she put my rose tea in my usual teacup and then gave it to me.

“I know but-“

“Abia, you can make them suffer in their training.” She said while smiling at me foolishly so I also smiled.

“Maybe you’re right.”

“Go, you can use them.”

“Yeah, yeah. I should wake up now.”

“I’ll be waiting here.”
