“Hey, Abia?” I look at Jenny with a bored eye.
We just finished one subject and the next teacher was absent but we were not allowed to leave the room, maybe there will be another fight outside. Tsk, why do they need to lie to us? Isn’t it better for them to tell us sooner so that we can prepare for the future battle? They make us stupid inside the battlefield. Look what happened to class S students. Who would believe their nonsense excuses?
“Why?” I said with a lazy voice.
“Why do you always have an eyepatch on your left eye?”
“Where do you think I would put my eyepatch? On my foot?”
“Well then, nice joke, Abia. Not funny.” She said bored and I rolled my eyes.
Ah, it’s not selling. My joke is such trash. Tsk, I looked out the window and I felt that she was still staring at me and I knew that she was waiting for my answer.
“Because I need to. This eye, this eye is a curse.” I said reluctantly and stared outside.
I felt the gaze of everyone in the room and maybe they heard what I said but I don’t care. What do they know about my life? I won’t interfere until they already understand my situation, that they already know why am I being like this. And that will never happen.
“Oh, what are you looking at? Why do you look at Abia like that?” I was startled when I heard Maureen who’s just arrived and suddenly shout and I looked at her, what’s her problem? “Does she have an infectious disease for you to look at her like that? If you don’t take your eyes off her I will pull your eyes out of its socket!” She added. And this HaliMau went berserk. “You all! Don’t mess with Abia! Or else-“
Everyone immediately shut their mouth up when I stood up and even though I closed my eyes I still felt them looking at me. I started walking out of the classroom.
“I don’t care about your opinion so don’t expect me to pay attention to you,” I said and looked at them and then to the two people who are always with me. “You two, come with me,” I added.
For some unknown reason, I seem to want to be childish right now but I resist myself because the old me who’s always acting like a child was dead a long time ago. I can’t revive her anymore and I don’t want her to live ever again. I used to be weak, and that old me was so weak and I don’t want to come back to the old, weak person.
“Do you have something we wanted to do?” Jenny asked and then I stopped walking.
“I just want you two to monitory the class S. Do you understand? HaliMau-“
“That’s Maurene, okay? My name is Maurene, not HaliMau!” she said, and then she pouts her lips.
I just stared at her for cutting me. “I don’t care.” I said and looked at Jenny, “You have to include this woman while using your taika.” This time I looked at HaliMau, “Your taika can transmit a thought, right?” HaliMau nodded. “Good. Make sure that they won’t doubt you two. Especially you. Don’t you ever dare to tell this to your brother or else I’ll kill him? If you want, I can do it in front of you.” I said and give her a creepy smile.
“As if we’re close enough. Well, it’s fine with me,” she said and pulled Jenny away from me.
I just want to help them both. It’s a win-win situation for us, I help them mastered their taika and they helped me to keep an eye on class S. Well, they can just master their taika by always using it.
Many of us thought that using taika so much will make it more dangerous than normal usage but the real fact is no. It’s not dangerous to use the taika so much. As far as I know, the former Elder of our clan told me about it and reminded me to use my taika as much as possible and so that I would not be fooled by the greedy people who would come to use me for their own ambitions.
They can’t use me for their own sake, I will not allow them to be trampled on my pride because all I have right now is pride and dignity.
“Ah, Abia. Can you hear me?” I heard Halimau asked me in my mind.
“Yes, why? What do you need?” I answered and she knew that I was obviously bored by just hearing my voice.
“We’re here right now at the oval and there’s a problem here.” I heard her and I know that she’s worried for a little.
“Oh? And what is that?”
“Class S. Heal and Albin versus Maejin and Hyokin. They’re fighting for Pete's sake! They’re fighting each other!” She said in a panic.
Is there a problem? It’s normal to fight within a group. Sparing, that is what my sister told me. Well, we fight each other too, is that a problem?
“And then?”
“You won’t stop them? For pate’s sake, Abia! Your students are ready to kill each other!” She exclaimed.
“They’re not my student. I only teach team one or two things so that they can continue to improve.”
“Tsk, what a heartless teacher.” And their voices disappeared.
I went to the rooftop and watched their fight. Actually, I sent Hyokin a letter last night and said that he needed to fight in pair. I would like to see what they need to improve and what they need to know. And by just looking at them I know that there’s a lot of flaws in them when fighting.
Albin and Heal are good in attacks but there are flaws in their defense. So, their attacks will become nothing to their enemies and their enemies can easily counter them. Also, Heal needs a minute, not a second to heal her comrade, that’s too slow for a healer. I know someone and she can heal in just a blink of an eye no matter what wound it is, as long as it’s not a heavy injury.
Heal took at least sixty-one seconds to heal Albin. She must use it in just a second or just a blink of an eye because she was the one needed on the battlefield. She also overdoing herself, if she pushed herself too much and doesn’t relax, she will lose too much energy, and later she will no longer be able to use her taika.
For Albin, he’s good at attacking someone, I admit it. like what I’ve said, his defense is his disadvantage. He’s not thinking about defending himself but attacking more. How did I say that? Well, that is because of his weapon. His big sword slowed him down and by just looking at him? It’s was heavy and his movements became limited so he has a hard time defending himself and his comrade in this case. He must change his weapon with much suitable for him, not as heavy as that one he’s using. By finding a perfect weapon he can make an advancement using his fire.
For Maejin, she can use her taika very well and she can also make a sword from her own taika which is one of the hardest parts of manipulating your very own taika. Even though she can make a sword from her own taika it’s still not enough because it’s not even lasted for a long time. She can only use the sword she made by her taika for twenty minutes only, the shortest time I’ve ever encounter. My sister can make a sword from her taika and it won’t disappear until she wants to. What if she’s in the war, on the battlefield, she will just have died in the hands of her enemy. What a waste, it can strengthen the opponent’s damage because they will have time to counter them, and even though she’s strong in defense her attack is like a bite of an ant. How will she win like that? Tsk.
For Hyokin, he is a long-range weapon user. His taika is earth, his defense is a little okay, much better than the other class S student and he can’t control his attack. He has a very strong attack and even though he wants to hold back he still ends up wounding his friends.
The fight ended after an hour. Even though Heal was so tired from that two on two battle it’s still time for her to heal everyone that her friends got from the sparing. It took her four minutes and five seconds to heal all their wounds. Heal should work for her healing ability and reduce the time that she had to consume in healing her comrades. Albin should find a perfect weapon for him to work his agility and can move easily and by that, his weapon and his taika can do great damage to the enemy. They both suck with defense so that is what they needed to improve and they must work for it. As for Maejin, her stamina is not enough for her to support her taika, she needs to build stamina to maintain her taika. For Hyokin, same as Maejin, stamina is also his problem but much lighter than Maejin. He can’t control his taika because he has no stamina and his instinct was improving his attack that is why he can’t control his attack.
I stood up and walked away from the rooftop. Good thing that before they look in my direction I have already gone into their line of sight. That was another thing that they needed to improve- their senses. This will help them a lot on a battlefield yet, they didn’t improve it.
It looks like I will have a very hard time teaching them. I feel like I am an elementary teacher that needs to teach them the alphabet. So annoying.
I have to teach them how to maintain and building their stamina, controlling everything they needed in the battle, enhance their senses which is the basis for every knight, how to do a proper attack while on defense, and how to defense while attacking the enemy.
I don’t know who’s a fault it is that they’re not aware of their flaws but it has nothing to do with me. I can use it to make a condition for them. I can use them for everything I needed.
“Abia?” I heard Jenny’s voice echoed in my mind.
“Why?”
“They’re done fighting.” HaliMau replied, “I say, don’t call me halimaw.” She irritatingly said.
“Go and read my mind again and I don’t mind killing you.”
“Anyway, Abia. I think they’re not fighting.” Of course, they’re not fighting. “We’re wrong. It’s Maurene’s fault.”
“Wow, I took all the blame.” Maureen said and she asked me, “Do you know what’s going on, Abia?”
“Don’t ask me.”
And they disappeared from my mind. I can block any taika if I want to just like what I did now with HaliMau’s taika.
“Ahmm…”
I stopped walking and looked back and a girl is trying to talk to me and I obviously saw the fear in her eyes and her body is trembling. Am I that scary for her to tremble like that? Whatever, I don’t care.
“What?” I asked without any emotion.
“Pi-“she stopped and shrugged her head, “The Head Master is calling you.” She said my brows furrowed
“Who are you?” I asked.
“A-I’m Calisha Tello t-the secretary of Head Master.” She said and I looked at her from head to toe.
As if she can fool me. she just looks timid, scared can and a weak one but deep down, I can feel it, I can feel her beast, I can feel her power.
“Please do refrain yourself from pretending to be a damsel in distress. It’s quite annoying, you know?” I said and then she looked at me seriously and smiled. “You can fool everyone else but not me. Do I look weak for you to fool?”
“Well, that is what I should expect from you. Shall we go now?”
I nodded my head, “Yeah.”
