English Class (Blake)

Valentina's POV

I walked about a foot away from her as she walked to the English class. I just did not want to get caught up in a really bad situation on the first day of school.

Believe me, she was giving off some bad girl vibes.

I heard the second bell ring meaning in about a few seconds we were going to be late. I noticed how slow Blake was walking and I said " Can we go a little faster? I know its first day and all, but I really wanna make a good impression."

She suddenly stopped and turned around. She cocked her head to the side and smirked . "What are you, a teachers pet?"

I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. I couldn't tell if she was tryna be rude or funny.

But I hated that smirk on her face, and being around her didn't feel too great. Even if she did smell good.

"I'm not a teachers pet Blake, I just wanna get to class on time. Is that a crime?" I walked past her. I saw a sign above a classroom that said Mr. Coleman's class. I smiled relieved to get away from Blake and headed in that direction.

"Where are you going?" Blake asked.

What does she mean where am I going? I turned in her direction and pointed at the Mr. Coleman's sign with a duh look on my face.

I watch her eyes dart to the sign and then to me. "That's not his room. There are two Mr. Coleman's in this school. I was here the year prior, so I know almost all the rooms."

Blake smiled at me and began to walk in a different direction, "Clearly you think you can handle being on your own, so good-luck with finding his actual room," Blake smiled and gave a small wave, her long brown hair in a ponytail swished back and forth as she walked away.

I looked back at the room and then at her, slightly panicking. I didn't wanna be left alone, and this school was huge!

I instantly regretted it and felt pretty bad for being kind of rude with her when she tried to help me.

I did a little jog to catch up with her. I could feel my face heat up in embarrassment. "Sorry," I whispered.

She didn't say anything but I'm pretty sure she heard me.

"Soooo... what brings you to this school cupcake?" she asked.

I decided not to say anything about that stupid nickname and just tried to be nice.

"My parents got a divorce a couple of years of ago, and my dad got a new job so I moved in with him."

"I'm sorry about your parents," Blake said sweetly. I took a glance at her and she seems to really mean it, no sarcasm and no playfulness.

"Don't be, they were a bad match from the start." I responded flatly.

As we walk I notice, the halls started to clear, leaving literally just Blake and me walking down the hall.

"How far is Mr. Coleman's class?" I asked. I did not want to be the last person walking in a room again.

"It's just down the hall and to the right... this is a big school."

I nod in agreement.

"So what happened to your mom?" Blake questions.

"Someone is curious about my life I see," I smile at her being playful. She laughs a little but keeps looking straight ahead as we walk the hallways.

Maybe she is not so bad, she is being pretty nice to me.

"My mom is a bank manager but we do not talk. After the much needed divorce, I got to choose who I wanted to live with and I decided my dad because my mom is... to say the least... a bitch." I said bitterly.

I didn't like thinking of that woman. She has been horrible to me and makes me feel completely pathetic.

"Aw, don't say that. I'm pretty sure she's caring and loves you." Blake said. I stopped walking, I didn't want to be in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

Blake stopped too and was about to say something but I interrupted.

"Look no offence, but I have no reason to lie, and I don't like people assuming shit they don't know. You can say shit like my mom loves me, and when I get older we will be best friends, or maybe even the classic saying... you're just a teen so you wouldn't understand being a parent and probably being dramatic, blah blah blah… but unless you know what went on behind closed doors then don't assume that about my mom."

Blake's face held an expression that I couldn't quite understand. She looked taken back at my sudden outburst, but it was the truth and I've had people tell me the same shit over and over before, and it really starts to get on my nerves.

We started walking again. At this point, I was pretty sure that we were at least 10minutes late to class.

"Sorry Cupcake, I didn't have that experience with my mom. I kind of figured that every mom would love their child."

What world was she living in? I wondered. I didn't even respond and kept on walking.

"You know my mom was the greatest. I'm sorry about your mom of course. But I remembered her smile and her contagious laugh, she was really good to me," Blake continued.

"What do you mean was? Did she die?" I asked.

I mentally self-palmed myself.

Blake looked at me and that stupid smirk crept up on her face again. "No she left earth and decided she wanted to be one with the aliens."

I rolled my eyes and to think, I was almost close to feeling bad for her.

"Why does it feel like we are walking in circles? Do you know where we are going? I asked. We had to be late no doubt. Something seemed off.

"That's because we are going in circles," Blake laughed. "There is no two Mr. Coleman's in the school, the one you saw earlier was our class."

I let out a grasp and did a quick jog down the hall as Blake laughed her ass off.

That green-eyed bitch! I could see what Macy may have been trying to warn me about.

-------------------------------(English Class)

Just... my... luck. I ended up sitting next to Blake since we both were late. I didn't know what to think of her now. What a childish prank to pull. Luckily I told Mr. Coleman about my missing schedule and he let me look it up on the computer to print another one out. I could feel Blake's eyes on me the whole time. I sat down on my desk moving slightly away from Blake's desk.

Blake started tapping me on the shoulder with her pencil, trying to get my attention.

We had to ask each other questions, you know the usual get to know your classmates when you really just wanna do your work and then sleep. Which I personally think is a lot better.

I turned towards Blake with an annoyed expression. She stopped tapping her pencil and smiled.

"We still have to ask each other questions, and I for one, like every good student, I would like to finish my work." I narrowed my eyes at her.

I just wanted to wipe the smile clean off her face.

"Okay then! You're right!" I said and I turned towards her with folded arms. "Lets see..."

"Are you a dick? check! Do you have a bad taste in pranks? check! Are you probably one of the most annoying people I've met today? check! I think I covered the basics." I turned away from her and watched everyone else in class.

I didn't hear anything from her in 2minutes, so i figured she wouldn't talk for the rest of the class.... the whole fifty-five minutes of class until...

"Are you lesbian?"

I slowly looked at her. Her green eyes were curious and she rested her head on her hand, staring back at me.

"No, I'm straight...."

She didn't say anything at all she just kept on looking at me. "Are you...-" She started.

"Hey, I have an idea. Lets play do not talk to Valentina for the rest of the day." I said with a sarcastic smile.

I didn't even bother looking at her.

Why couldn't this day be normal?

"Hmmm, I don't like that game." I could see Blakes smile at me in the corner of my eye.

"Valentina? What is that? Spanish?" she asked. I got a small shiver with my name on her tongue for some reason.

"Yes it is." I said simply, it was obvious she wasn't going to leave me alone. Starring at the clock, there were about 48minutes to go.

"That would explain the black hair and brown eyes. Can you speak it?" she asked.

I let out a breath. "No."

"Why not?"

I turned my whole body towards her and dropped my hands. "Why do you have to ask so many questions?"

"Why do you have to be so beautiful?" Blake said, quickly replying.

I turned back around off guard. I didn't expect that response. I tried to think of cold things as my cheeks heated up.

Fuck...Me...

"Okay, just two more questions. Please? I like getting to know people."

I kept starring at the clock. "Fine, two more."

"Does your dad speak Spanish?"

That sounded like a reasonable question to me. "Yes he does." Just one more question left and I can ignore her.

"Okay, what does he do?"

I closed my eyes I hate this question. People usually find out anyway, might as well tell her.

I opened my eyes and and bit the inside of my cheeks. "His a Spanish elementary teacher."

Just as I expected, Blake burst out laughing.

25minutes on the cloak left.

"Y-your d-dad teaches Spanish and you don't know any," she caused some of the classmates to look our way.

I'm pretty sure some overheard. My face was definitely bright red at this point.

Blake clutched her stomach as she laughed some more.

RING RING RING RING RING RING

I gathered up my things as fast as I could and headed out of the classroom.
