Blueth Mendoza's POV
"Rachelle!" My face started glowing with excitement as I saw a familiar face among the crowd of people in the market. I couldn't help myself but smile as I ran towards her, my arm raised in the air as I kept waving at her.
She eventually noticed me and she smiled at me. "Blueth!"
I reached her and I was out of breath from the running I did. I don't know why I ran, she was just close by, maybe I was just excited when I saw her, and I couldn't help myself not to run towards her? Anyway. "Oh, I'm so out of shape. Give me a minute." I said as I tried catching my breath. Rachelle looked at me as she gave a little giggle.
"Why did you run silly? Not like I was leaving or anything, I just got here so you didn't really need to run towards me."
"Well, that's the thing, I don't know why I ran. Maybe I got excited?"
Rachelle gave another one of those small giggles she does as she kept looking at me. Boy her giggles are so cute, wait, what? What am I thinking? You're not gay Blueth! Gah! Why am I becoming gay in front of Rachelle!? I. Am. Not. Gay! This is all Ms. Val's fault! If only she didn't say that I am crushing on Rachelle then maybe I won't be like this in front of Rachelle!
"So, what brings you here in the market? Are you handing out flyers for the business you're running again?"
"Hmm? Oh no, we're already done with that. Handing out the flyers were a success, Ms. Val is proofreading books as we speak." I said as I imagined a stack of books falling on top of Ms. Val. Am I bad for thinking that? Well, she did make me start going gay for Rachelle, which I am not! I am not gay for Rachelle, stop fantasizing!
"That's good to hear, so what brings you to the market? And don't you dare use a reverse card on me Blueth, like the last time you reversed my question in the scavenger hideout."
"Are you threatening me? Was that a threat for me Rachelle?"
Rachelle gave another giggle as she raised one of her eyebrows. "Yes Blueth, that is a threat to you, so don't you dare reverse my question."
"Awe, is the pretty girl mad at me for reversing her question?" At this point, I was just trying to make Rachelle angry. I don't know why I'm slowly digging a hole for my grave as I keep making her angry, I just like the way she looks when she gets mad. Her face is all red, it's kind of cute actually, for me. And no, this is not a gay thing.
Rachelle already has her right eye twitching with anger, her face starting to turn red with anger as well. Well done Blueth, you have successfully dug a whole for your grave. I don't know why but I was actually smiling at the sight of Rachelle's angry expression, it's really cute in my book.
If only I had my phone on me, I can take a picture of her cute mad face, but too bad I left it in the house. What bad timing for me to leave it, guess I just need to make Rachelle mad when I have my phone with me so I can take a picture of her. Thinking about it, I sound like a bully for making Rachelle mad for nothing, but this is not for nothing, it's for seeing her cute mad face, that's all.
"Blueth? What did I say about calling me a pretty girl?" Rachelle said as she has her eyes closed with her hands forming a fist. I can tell she was really mad, I can see her grip on her basket tightening.
I didn't stop calling her names and kept going. What? I can't help myself. "Awe, why is the cute pretty little girl becoming a tomat---" Before I could finish my sentence, I received a big surprise that sent me flying across the market.
Rachelle swung the basket she was carrying on my face and it sent me flying. I had what's coming to me, couldn't really get mad at her for hitting me with her basket, I mean I already knew that she would do that, but I kept going in calling her names.
"Just so you know, I will not apologize for what I did to you!" Rachelle said as she helps me stand back up on my feet. "And this gesture of me helping you get back up is not a gesture of me saying sorry, you got that bub?"
"Uh-huh, loud and clear." I replied as I saw these stars flying around my face, circling my head. Is it night time already?
"Now, back to my question. What brings you here in the market?" Rachelle said as she pushes her hair back behind her ear.
"Oh, right, that question. Well, Ms. Val told me to come here to look for a dress to wear for the prom at our school. I don't really want to because I already have something to wear, but she said that it was a fashion nightmare for her taste so, here I am, looking for a dress to wear. What about you, what are you doing here? Are you doing grocery shopping again?"
"Huh? O-oh, y-yeah, Grocery shopping. That's why I'm here." Rachelle said as she looked away all nervously. She thinks that I can't see it, but she's hiding something. There's another reason why she's here, a girl's instincts can tell, and my instincts tell me that Rachelle's not here to do grocery shopping.
I looked at her straight in the eye as I kept figuring what she's not telling me. I know it's not right to nose on other people's businesses, but I'm a curious girl okay? I can't help it. So, hit me again with that basket of hers, I don't care! All I want is to know what's the real reason she's here.
I kept looking at her but she keeps avoiding eye contact with me, very suspicious if you ask me. Her nervousness tells a hidden story.
As I kept looking at her, something caught the attention of my eye. I saw it in the corner of my eyes, it was something which was popping out in Rachelle's basket. I looked over and I saw this piece of paper which was partially covered in cloth in the basket.
Rachelle was so focused on not keeping eye contact with me that she was not paying attention to her basket. So, I made my move. Something tells me that this piece of paper here will answer the questions in my head. Questions as to why she's so nervous to tell me the real reason why she's here.
I carefully took off the cloth which was covering the piece of paper and I saw what the paper was.
"An invitation?"
