Blueth Mendoza's POV
"Excuse me? Can I have this dance?"
A big smile formed on my face as I heard these words. I turned around as I heard someone asking if they can have a dance with me. But as I finally turned around, I saw that it wasn't me they were asking, it was another girl standing behind me. Well, there goes my hopes of finally getting the chance to dance in one of these proms.
Prom started and everyone was told to go to the dance floor to have fun, and there were no exceptions, meaning I can't sit on the bleachers. It was the most uncomfortable thing which has ever happened to me, next to the dress I'm wearing being so itchy.
I had to stand in the middle of the court dancing on my own! For 30 minutes! I could tell that I was being awkward! One is that I was the only one dancing alone! And two! I don't even know how to dance!
I had to sway from left to right with few hand movements just to not look awkward, and boy was that a bad move for me, swinging from side to side with a few hand movements made me much more awkward. I wanted to just run outside the stadium and go straight home! But that's not allowed because students need to stay until the end of the prom, if they go home early, that will be trouble for them.
I'm an outgoing kind of girl, but when I have no one to talk to, I get all nervous and weird. I'm not popular in school even though I'm outgoing and such, I still have trouble approaching people and making friends. As I kept doing these stupid dance steps, I noticed that a few students are sitting at the bleachers.
Well, there's my signal. I made my way through the crowd and sat at the very top of the bleacher. I like sitting at the top because I feel a sense of power coursing through my veins! Looking down at all of the students below me! Plus, it's a great place to go looking for Rachelle. It's already been a while since prom started, but I haven't seen her yet.
Maybe she's not coming?
As I was looking around for Rachelle, I noticed this familiar blonde colored hair. That's Rachelle's hair color! What? When there's a sea of crowd and you're trying to find your friend, their hair color is what you'll be looking for, that's what I do anyway.
Happiness came rushing to my face as I stood up, but once I got up, I saw that it wasn't Rachelle with the blonde hair, it was another student with the same hair color as hers. Wow, I got my hopes crushed twice this night, what are the odds?
I returned to my seat and sat down, still hoping to see Rachelle before the night ends. I know that there are lots of students I can go to and talk to and whatever, but as I said before, I'm shy to talk to people. I may be an outgoing girl but I have little to no friends. The only friends I have moved to another town, making them move schools and such, making me all alone. After that, I haven't really been able to make new friends, until I met Rachelle that is.
I let out a sigh as I rested my chin on the palm of my hands, looking down at all of the couples slow dancing along with the music which was playing in the background. I saw these groups of friends telling jokes and stories to each other, having fun, and enjoying the prom. I'm not going to lie, I'm starting to get jealous of them. I mean, where are my friends!? Now that I think about it, I can't really blame them for leaving me behind, making me alone.
As I kept my chin rested on my pal, I felt a slight tap on my shoulder. I looked over and I saw Rachelle standing beside me, smiling at me.
"Rachelle!" I said as I jumped and hugged her. Hey, you can't really blame me, I missed her, that's all. It's been a while since we last saw each other so I can't really help myself.
"Woah, what's all this now?" She said as she looked at me. Some students were looking at us, but I didn't care, I just kept on hugging her. Rachelle let out a little giggle and eventually, she started hugging me back.
We both let go of the hug and we smiled at each other. I then noticed something different about her. "You dyed your hair black and red?"
Her hair was black on the top and it fades to red on the bottom half of it. Her newly dyed hair matches the maroon sleeveless dress she was wearing.
"Oh, so you noticed." She giggled as she made her hair bounce using her hands. "Yup, I dyed them. Figured that my blonde hair was starting to get boring. It's not like I don't like it or anything, I just figured that it's time for some changes."
"Wait, have you gone through a break up of some sort?"
Rachelle stared at me as her face filled up with confusion. "Break up?" She asked as she kept blinking, trying to process what I just said.
She's so cute when she's confused like this, she just stares at you as she keeps blinking her eyes, processing what she just heard. I could die right now seeing Rachelle's face like this, wait, what am I saying? Blueth! Snap out of it! You're not gay!
"Hey? You okay?" Rachelle asked as she snapped her fingers in front of me.
"Oh, Uhm, yeah, I'm okay. But why'd you snap your fingers at me?"
"I don't know, I just saw people do it in movies whenever people are phasing out. Anyway, enough about that. About what you said earlier, what did you mean by me going through a breakup?"
"Oh, you know how some people change their appearance just because they went into a breakup or something. So, I figured that maybe you are one of those people?" I closed my eyes as I began saying the last line, I felt that that was rude of me because I felt like I was judging her in a bad way.
Rachelle gave a small smile then she started laughing, snorting as she kept laughing. I haven't seen or heard her laugh like this, this is an entirely new side of her.
"Well, do you want to dance?" I asked as I reached out my hand towards her. She lets out a small giggle as she looked at me.
"I'm guessing that no one walked up to you and asked you for a dance."
"Believe me, I waited and waited for someone to come and pick me up from these bleachers and lead me towards the dance floor. But alas, no one came."
Rachelle smiled as she reached out her hand and held my hand. "Well then, lead the way Blueth."
I smiled as I started leading the way towards the dance floor while holding her hand. Before we got a chance to reach the dance floor, someone started screaming.
We looked towards the direction of the screaming and it was coming from the entrance. A huge shadow of some sort bursts through the doors of the stadium.
"What is that!?"
