There are a lot of good things in life...
However, it is fleeting...
Thank God, not to us. Adelaide and I have been together from high school up until now, and let me tell you it's the best thing I could ask for, it's as if I already used all my luck just for Adelaide to say yes to me.
'Hello, baby! ' Adelaide greeted me when I responded to her call. We're in college, and she's studying overseas to become a cook. Some people say that LDR relationships never last. But not for us, because we were in our last year in our studies and we are still going strong.
Amazing, right?
"How are you baby?" I asked her while doing my thesis.
"I'm fine! Just a bit busy with the requirements" she said as she laughs. As I hear her laugh, my tiredness suddenly disappeared because of Adelaide. I feel complete.
"Oh, but your busy, right? I might be interrupting your work, " she stated with a sad look on her face.
"Baby, you know will never interrupt me, " I answered as I took off my glasses and chuckled at her.
"Baby seriously, we need to focus on our studies, so we can see each other soon, so focus on your requirements first so you can graduate on time, and then we can spend time with each other now" She lectured, I laughed a little.
"Hahaha, yes of course, but baby you also have your requirements right? So, shouldn't you focus on that first? " I told her as I smile.
She looked at me triumphantly "Unfortunately babe, I already finished mine, " she said as she was smirking at me through the screen cute, I thought as I look at her smirking.
"Pfft, alright then I'll turn the phone off to finish my requirements," I told her as I wave goodbye to her.
"Yeahh. Good luck with your requirements thennn" She told me as she waves goodbye at me as well.
I turned the call off and then I resumed the work that I'm doing.

I have classes today that's why I'm currently walking towards my building. I'm studying Business Administration by the way.
"Hey! Theo! " Sonya, a classmate and a friend of mine greeted me as she slapped me in the back.
"Pfft, Nice greeting there Sonya," I said as I caressed my back, for a girl, her slap is hard, it freaking hurts.
"it's not supposed to be a greeting. Have you finished our report?" Sonya asked as she raised her fist as if she's threatening me, I laughed.
"Hahaha, Yup, I finished it last night," I told her as I showed her the blue folder containing our report.
"Very good," Sonya said as she caressed my back, the part that she slapped earlier.
We went to the building together since we have the same class.

Two months later
It's been two months and we'll be graduating soon. Finally, I will finish studying.
"Hey, babe!! Finally!!! We're graduating soon!!!" She said as she squealed, I can't help but laugh.
"You're a right baby! And I might be able to attend yours in August" I told her while grinning widely.
"Mhm! And I'll watch yours too!" She told me as she spins her chair around.
I chuckled lightly. Her cuteness will be the death of me I thought.
She told me about her day, about her plans after graduating from college.
She plans on going to a Culinary school there, while I have my internship at a large company in Manila.
Then after she finishes her study there, she'll go home here in the Philippines and then we'll move in together. But of course, I have my own surprise. When she got home here I'll take her to our precious spot and then I'll propose to her there.
I have it all planned out in my head, and it's a good thing that I know her ring size as I've given her a ring as a gift for our anniversary after all.
We said our goodbyes and then we ended the call again.

One year later
We finally graduated! And I am currently working for the Monterva Group, I have been working here for almost a year now. Of course, I'm still an intern but my supervisor said that I'm doing very well, at Baka maging full-time worker na daw ako after 2 months.
While Adelaide is about to finish her one-year course at the culinary school. Only two months to go I thought and then I smiled.
I have to work even harder so I can be a full-time worker already and then so I can propose to Adelaide on our anniversary two months later.
I started working again when I got back to my place. I worked overnights several times. I have to work hard after all, for my future with Adelaide.

Two months later
It's been two months and I'm at my supervisor's office right now.
"You've worked very hard son, and you deserve to be a full-time employee, so you're not an intern anymore but a full-time worker, congratulations son I hope you work as hard, as earnest, as diligent, and as honest as you were when you're an intern," my supervisor said as he smiled.
I smiled brightly at him "Thank you, sir! I won't let you down I promise" I said as I felt a sigh of relief.
"That's good. Now you're excused" he said and so I excused myself and then I left his office.
I continued my work as usual, and when I looked at the clock, and it's 5 p.m., Adelaide should be boarding the plane any minute now that's why I left the office after I told my supervisor and then I went to fetch the ring that I bought.
After I got the ring, I went to the venue and fixed everything that needs to be fixed.
After I fixed everything, I looked at my phone and Nakita ko na meron akong one voice mail, and when I checked it, it's from Adelaide.
"Hey, baby! I'm boarding the plane now, see you later babe!" Was the content of the message. I smiled and then I sat in the car.
While listening to the radio in my car, I heard a scary news...
A plane crash occurred, near the coast of Japan, and that there are no survivors...
I immediately prayed I prayed that it isn't my Adelaide's plane...
That her plane is flying safely to Japan...
But it seems that prayer doesn't always work...
After I prayed inside my car...
I received a text message...
As I read the content of that message, I felt my world coming to a stop. I felt suffocated, I felt weak, and emptiness slowly filled me inside...
The message was from Adelaide's mom.
Text message:
From: Tita Parker
To: Son-in-law
Message:
Son, Adelaide is one of the passengers of that plane...
I didn't believe it,
No, to be exact, I don't want to believe it...
I want to deny that text message...
I want to believe that my Adelaide is safe and sound...
But I can't...
I can't run away from the reality that I'm not gonna see her again...
The reality that my future with her won't exist anymore...
I went out of the car and I went to the spot where we would always sit...
I kept on remembering her last words in that voicemail earlier...
'See you later babe!' was the last sentence...
But I'm not going to see you anymore, what should I do Adelaide?
And before I knew it, I felt something wet on my cheeks...
I noticed tears kept on rolling down my eyes...
The day that should be joyful became a painful day instead...

One year later
It's been a year now, a year since I lost my Adelaide. It was hard I assure you, I even attempted in committing suicide because of it...
Now, it's still painful but I decided to live my life to the fullest, to enjoy my life, for the both of us...
I will live earnestly until I meet her on the other side.
Today is Adelaide's death anniversary, that's why I'm visiting her grave today...
"Hey babe, it's been a year since you left me, it's really painful you know, it's still painful that I might die because of that pain, but babe, don't worry I've decided to live my life to the fullest until I see you again," I said as I leave a bouquet of her favorite flowers.
Wait for me alright?
Adelaide…
My Adelaide that I'm proud of…
My Beloved Adelaide…
See you again love…
