On my way to work, I couldn't help but think that the person I talked to in the woods looked really familiar. He was good looking, too. I also wonder why he lives in the woods. I try to ignore the curiosity. But I can't. So I think I'll go back after work.
I pull into the employee parking lot and I go inside. I made it just on time before I would be considered late. "Good Morning, Aleah," Courtney says from behind the desk.
"Morning Courtney," I reply as I walk by. I start looking for Ethan to see if there's anymore details on the body we went to investigate and take evidence. I go to his office and he's working on something on the computer. "Good Morning, Ethan," I say. he nearly jumped out of his seat. "Morning, Aleah. You scared me," he replies.
"Oops sorry Ethan. I didn't mean to scare you," I said. "Anymore details on the dead body?" I ask.
"Yes. The forensic scientist found multiple bite marks from what looks like a wolf," he replies
"What an awful way to be killed," I say.
"Unfortunate, too. Some people just don't know that it's a bad idea to leave wild life alone. Especially young children," he adds
"So where to today?" I ask.
"Well today we could go to the shore of a lake where a body washed up. Or we could go investigate the north side woods again for any remaining evidence," he replied. I think about it for a few moments. Maybe the guy in that cabin in the middle of the north side woods will know something about the body. "I think we should go to the north side woods. I think I saw a log cabin in the middle of the north side woods. Maybe someone there will know more about the body," I suggest.
"Alright Aleah, I think it's a great idea. We should prepare a search warrant," he says. Then he walked away to his office to print out a search warrant. A few moments later, he returns with the search warrant in his hand. "Ready to go, Aleah?" Ethan asks
"Yes, sir," I reply. Then we go out to the company car and get in. He starts the engine and pulls out of the parking lot.
"So, Aleah. How did you really know about the cabin in the woods?" he interigates me.
"I went earlier this morning to check it out. I just had a gut feeling that we should check into it," I confess.
"That was not the smartest thing to do, Aleah. You could've gotten hurt or even killed. That forest is really dangerous. It always has been. Haven't you heard the legend behind it?" Ethan ask.
"No. What is it?" I ask.
"The legend is that there are four different packs of werewolves living in that forest. They are very territorial," he explains
"And you actually believe this 'legend'?" I ask Ethan.
"Oh, for sure. And that body is proof," he says
"And real wolves don't exist?" I ask.
"They do. But those bite marks are larger than the average wolf's," Ethan explains.
"I see. Then, maybe we should check that house out together, Ethan," I say.
"What are you, fucking crazy? Those werewolves can get up to seven feet tall, even on all fours, when they transform. That's a death wish for sure!" Ethan yells.
"Maybe for you, but I just have a feeling..."
"What kind of fucking feeling, Aleah? The only feeling you should feel here, is fucking fear, Aleah."
I begin feeling uneasy. I sense something, or someone approaching the car, and whatever it is, it is very angry. "Ethan, I think we should be going now. I don't feel safe here," I say anxiously.
"Oh so NOW you come to your senses. About damn time!" he yells. Then he starts backing away back out to the road, but he hits something very hard. "What the hell was that?" he asks.
"I don't know. Just..."
"Just what, Miss Aleah?" a strange voice said to me through the window.
"Aleah? Do you know this person?" I gulp as I remembered his face.
"Yes. He's my brother, Leviathan," I reply.
Leviathan smiles menacingly.
