Unexpected vision

ALICE

I coughed. Trying to dispel the poisonous air I inhaled. I clawed on my chest. Digging my nails to my bare skin. Sparks of stinging pain rushed to my brain. Sharp knives slice my skin. Terror clots my veins. I’m badly shaking. Out of dread and trepidation.

Flashes of images crossed my mind. The cold foreign grip of black smoke is scorching my skin. I inhale so fast my lungs can’t keep up in filtering sulfur from the air. Sharp spikes invade my brain. Tearing down my skull, digging out my brain. Looking for something.

Trying to take something. I can’t fight it. My mind is on the brink of breakdown. My eyelids are fluttering fast, my body shaking uncontrollably. This is torture. They’re trying to drive me insane. Plucking out every cell that’s keeping me intact.

Drawing out every memory I buried deep inside. They forced it out. Making me feel all the afflicted torment all over again.

I saw myself inside the dark basement. Locked up and chained in the neck like a dog.
