Learning of the Guild

I was in front of the doors waiting for them to be open.

After I announced who I am I thought that would've been enough for them to let me in, but they simply looked my way and ignored me. They looked away from me as if there was nobody in front of them waiting to be let in with their spears in their hands.

'No one enters without the permission of the Black Rock's guild master,' said the guard on the left.

That's ridiculous! How was anyone supposed to enter with the guild master's permission if they haven't even met the guild master?

I thought maybe I could ignore them and walked towards the door anyways, but then they put their spears in front of the door forming an X. I could not get in that simple I see.

'Very well,' I raised my hands in surrender and walked backwards away from the large wooden door.

I needed to see Nyle. The sooner I meet him, the faster I can find out who was behind the flood. Time is of the essence since we don't want another disaster to befall the country.

How could I get inside if they won't let me in? Surely there was another way into the place. Perhaps there is a backdoor. I walked back inside my carriage and told the driver to go to the end of the street where the guards won't see us.

I wanted to give them the impression that I had left. After hiding my carriage on the end of the street, I walked down from my carriage and walk on my own two feet to the back of the guild's building.

As I suspected. There was a back door.

On the back of the building was a small wooden door that was left unguarded. This was probably for personnel only, for people who knows how to get in and out of the building.

I put my hand on the cool metal knob and twisted it to find that it was closed. Of course, I didn't really think it would be open so easily, this was after all the top information guild in the kingdom. Surely they won't let just anybody in so easily.

I don't see a keyhole in the door so either this door is opened by magic or it can only be opened from the inside. Both of which doesn't allow me to get in.

I banged on the door hard for someone to hopefully let me in, but there was no answer on the other side of the door.

Letting out a sigh, I was about to give up when I heard a small clicking sound.

The door knob turned and the wooden door attached to it opened just the slightest bit.

I couldn't see anything inside the small opening of the door. Clearly someone had let me in, but why?

This could be dangerous but my gut told me that if I didn't go inside now, there wouldn't be a another chance to meet Nyle anymore.

As I pushed the door open, I could see some candles were lit inside the building and I was met with some tables and people were sitting there giving me a curious glance, drinking some beverages. There was also a bartender behind the bar mixing some drinks.

Well I guess this was a guild after all. There is bound to be people working here during the day.

But it seems no one was near the door, who could've opened it for me?

With light steps I walked into the room, thankfully the other people inside seemed to ignore me for the most of it.

I walked up towards the bartender hoping to get some information of where Nyle is. The bartender was wearing a purple vest and he was mixing drinks in his hands.

'How can I help you, little miss?' He put down the mixer in his hand to the bar and focused his attention on me.

'I'd like to meet Nyle,' the moment I said that everyone's eyes turned to me.

Should I not have said his name so nonchalantly like that? Oops.

I coughed a little to lighten the tension and continued speaking, 'Can I meet him?'

The bartender waved his hand and everyone returned to their own conversations no longer looking my way. Then a little laugh came out of the bartender's mouth.

'If you would please follow me,' he the opened a door behind the bar and I walked from the side to follow him. The room that I entered looked like any normal living room.

There was an L-shaped sofa in the middle with a glass coffee table in front of it as well as bookshelves on wither side of the walls.

Another door in the living room opened and I saw a hint of light green hair.

Without me realizing it the bartender that had showed me to this room had left and I was alone with the green-haired guy who had just entered the room.

Was he perhaps Nyle? He should be considering there's is not a lot of guys with such light colored green hair in this kingdom, plus he was in the backroom of a very exclusive guild.

He was wearing a black vest, what I didn't expect was another man following behind him. The man was short and had a moustache with a bald head.

The green-haired man then closed the door behind him. In his hands was a tray of drinks while the bald man plopped down to the sofa, the green-haired man put the drinks on the table.

Was he perhaps not Nyle? Why would Nyle serve drinks? He owns the guild after all.

'What do you want girl?', the bald man asked me.

Maybe Nyle was testing me. I know he was very secretive about his identity except to Anastasia whom he loved at first sight.

'I came to talk to Nyle, the leader of the guild.' I sat down on the sofa as well looking at the bald man pretending that I did not know who Nyle really was. It might seem suspicious if I just new his identity like that without ever meeting him first.

Let's have fun with this charade for a little bit more.
