Chapter 162 : Let's get into a fight.

Ottis honestly couldn't believe his eyes [ They're getting along? ] As they waited for the rooms to be cleaned, Caitlin rambled on about something to Kancor. He couldn't quite make it out from where he sat but Kancor seemed interested in whatever it was.

Caitlin had a quick temper - just like her father and coupled with her inability to read a situation or people's intentions clearly - and was very hard to get along with. Kancor always found it difficult to keep her in a good mood and she'd either suddenly throw a tantrum or walk away.

Kancor also seemed to have changed a lot too. He'd heard that his nephew had been miraculously healed from his sickness a month or two ago but he didn't take it seriously. He simply thought it was a rumor and he was too busy to clarify.

But the boy in front of me hadn't broken into a coughing fit, spat up blood or seemed haggard in anyway [ I wonder where the library is? ] He seemed to be as fit as a fiddle too [ Finally, something new I can research ]

Kancor felt like someone was staring at him but shook his head. Caitlin sighed with a smile, " I must be talking your ear off ". Kancor nodded, " Yeah, but we're both enjoying this. You like to talk about buildings and I don't mind hearing you talk about buildings ".

Caitlin smiled as she tilted her head to the side, " What else do you like? I'm almost certain we have nothing else in common but I'd still like to know ". Kancor nodded thoughtfully, " I also like that you're realistic and self aware of our situation ".

She rolled her eyes playfully, " Don't ruin this, especially since your uncle's watching ". Kancor glanced at the man and smiled mischievously, " What if we get into a fight and see his reaction "?

" Bless Merfal, no. Absolutely not ", He pouted playfully, " Why not? The man seems like he has a variety of expressions. Is it bad that I want to see that "? Caitlin narrowed her eyes, warning him " No joking around ".

He sighed as he suddenly put his head on her lap, " Tell me about that lake again ". Caitlin looked down at him, shocked and red " What are you doing "? He smirked and looked over at the uncle, " Getting a hilarious reaction from that man and it's more comfortable this way ".

Caitlin sighed in defeat as she continued her stories. She pinched herself hard enough to stop herself from laughing out loud. She glanced at Ottis who seemed to be a little out of his element and back down at Kancor [ He's turned to such a troublemaker....but I could get used to it ]

Anala had ended up on the terrace when she realized no one was coming back any time soon. She was looking forward to the dinner and meeting the infamous Empress of Lishflour. She sighed as she felt the wind against her face, " I just hope this goes well ".

She heard laughing and thought she saw Archie floating in the air. He was caught by a beautiful woman with long white hair and she relaxed, " She looks just like her mother " [ I need to lie down, I'm beginning to imagine things ]
