New Position

(this will be changed to first person for this chapter to see if it fits better)
They all got set up with 7 linemen, a tight end on the right, a decoy wide receiver on the right. with me and the QB in the backfield. The other teams coach guessed the play and he was right on the direction.
The QB yelled hut he got the ball and immediately tossed the ball to me, I bobbled it and when I looked up there were three guys barreling towards me so I reversed to the short side of the field, out of the corner of my eye I saw the coach shaking his head in disappointment from the horrendous blocking.

I had no choice but to try to make something out of it and when I went over I only found two defenders on that side of the field.

'they must've went all out on that blitz huh'

One of the guys was blocked by the wide receiver and the agility and speed upgrade came in handy I stutter stepped gave a quick jab inside then kept running, the guy slowed to stop me cutting back and then stumbled when he realized what happened.
The guy behind however was the fastest on the other team and dove when I stopped, making me trip too, but at this point I was too close to the endzone so I fell right in.
He was also their running back and he came sprinting in after a few plays of rest but I was wondering, why didn't my system allow me to have a second position.

I chose safety because i felt I was not big enough to play d-line or linebacker as of now and corner would limit my effect on the game

He immediately upgraded his play recognition but he was just an average safety so he didn't want to ruin the team's defense because the safety looked pretty good out there.
When it was 24-13 the coach decided to run a short post with the wide receiver and an out with the tight end while I would just be the safety valve, the QB however threw a pass that their corner read all the way he picked it off but had to run 62 yards to score and I was sure I would catch up before I realized who it was.
It was #18, the running back, once again and looking at the back of his blue jersey sucked as I was still trying to desperately catch up but I saw him getting tired and thought this was my chance. I ran for another 15 yards.

But when I tried to make the final push nothing happened except my speed declining immediately when I saw he was in the end zone making it 24-19. Now celebrating with his teammates which killed me on the inside and after they made the extra point making it 24-20 I was ready to destroy their hopes

"Coach let me have a stretch hand-off to whichever side has more space" I insisted

He sighed and told me this would be my last play of the game but I was fine as long as I scored.

I got the ball and my ball carrier vision kicked in so I juked back inside and took off, using this speed in the best way, running in a straight line. Everybody chasing after me looked a little bit slower in my vision I thought I was running like the flash but in reality it took me almost 20 seconds to score.

This was what put the nail in the coffin and the final score was 31-20 with me scoring 4 touchdowns and their running back scoring all 3 of theirs.

Thinking about how deadly we could be as a possible duo and how hard we could push each other as rivals I decided to befriend him.

He turned out to be named Amari and he was cool, I felt like we could easily be cool outside of football. While after we exchanged some words I got ready to leave with my team and we then went to our own parents where we would not come back until the next week. I might up and leave the Lions once I get older, unless this team gets a whole lot better we aren't making it anywhere.
