2 days later at practice
As the skinny kid with short dreadlocks walked casually to the field the coach noticed and yelled at him.
"Hurry up, your late run 2 laps"
"yea, yea"
"What's with the attitude do you want to run more"
"Why are you so angry coach, I'll get right to it" he replied in a sarcastic voice
"Lose the attitude or you won't be playing next game" the coach started to lose his temper
"Ok" he started to jog
"Run harder!"
"Why is he targeting me, plenty of people are always late." he had mumbled under his breath
When he finished his running it was time for hitting drills and he ran over, skipping in front of the line like he always did. This time he was going up against the next best player the linebacker Jamal Archer. They were lined up head to head with 2 step over dummies indicating the side lines.
The coach blew the whistle and since the space was so small he had no room to use his speed so he ran straight ahead. In no time at all however his back was planted in the ground with a guy celebrating over him.
[Does host want to claim 25 skill points]
[yes] [no]
He was kinda cheering up from this and chose yes, but then he stopped to think about where the 25 points were coming from. Was the system being generous? But the system doesn't have feelings it seems like a robot.
[Host completed quest but it has been a month and you haven't claimed the rewards]
'Well I was never told how to claim them so what did you expect
[But I informed you when you first got the quest]
'Uhhh well I didn't see it so...'
[All your fault, luckily I the great system reminded you]
'yea yea leave me alone now'
He was still laying on the ground and he could hear people whispering but couldn't hear anything clearly. He then got up and shamefully walked to the end of the other line.
Tackling 1* (12 points)
He had upgraded it once and used the other 25 points on strength as he had gotten 10 from push-ups over the weekend. They had an even amount of players so he would face the linebacker again this time positions switched.
He was focused and he could see that Jamal was too, The coach blew the whistle and they charged without stopping. Jamal wouldn't dare backdown from this challenge so he continued to charge too and they collided it was a struggle at first as Logan was trying to pull him down but in the next moment Jamal had just stumbled over Logan.
The coach had told him to get up and shake it off, then he called him over. "I'm telling you right now if you keep up that attitude that you had when you first came to practice there are gonna be many more who do that to you." he continued the lecture "You aren't the only special one especially here in Florida which is the best state in football."
He stood up and sent him back, he got destroyed by Jamal every time and they did a couple more drills before scrimmage. The coach on the first play ran Logan to the right and the gap wasn't open so he cut back to his left and ran as fast as he could.
Jamal was on that side but he was left flat footed after a quick juke and the safety then tackled him after a 15 yard gain. This was where he was best, not in power vs power situations but in open space. This was where Jamal was the rock solid earth that could not be challenged in power and Logan was the fire that didn't try to fight head on but instead burned him.
This scrimmage would have 5 drives. The defense versus offense, the offense started at the 30 and had only 4 chances to score. If the defense stopped them 3 times they would win and if the offense scored 3 times they would win. The first drive started with 2 runs to Logan and the 2nd was a 9 yard run.
After that they had used just a quick shovel pass to another player and faked it to Logan, everybody had focused on Logan and he practically walked in for the touchdown. The next drive Logan didn't get the ball and they were stopped.
The defense looked like they had gotten all the momentum and they had. The blockers were not holding the D-line as much and Logan had gotten tackled in the backfield 3 times, his only positive play was a 24 yard run to the outside but this is what the defense was guarding the most and he was forced back inside where his speed didn't have such a big effect.
They had scored one more time but with the O-line playing like they were the Offense lost 2-3. Logan had gone home sore and was extremely tired.
